Looks like they had a good time. In adult life there is little to get excited for. I can see why people would stand in line to be a part of the launch with like-minded people.
They all should wait for the bugs to be worked out before buying one. Wait a couple of weeks (they've waited a year already) and just walk in a get one without a wait.
