  • will the screening and paint work on leather?

  • How did he get the images on to the transparency plastic ?

  • printer

  • i've tried this and i get a real crisp clean burn from the emulsion, but whenever i run ink through it i somehow get globs of ink connected to the design that weren't burned into the screen. can someone help me?

  • u wud have to put peaces of tape on the parts that u don't want to show up on the shirt this happens sometimes.

  • Does this actually use silk?

  • no, nylon

  • how;d u get the image on the screen ?

  • What do you mean by "standard" silk screen? Monofilament fabric? What about the mesh count?

  • 110 for shirts. Nylons works good.

  • he aint explaining enough of what hes doing, i got more questions than answers from this guy..

  • true

  • those are positives, not negatives**

  • where can i get the ink? and wats the name of it?

  • you can use adobe illutator or coreldraw to name a few they convert your image to vector witch leave it cleaner. if you really want to get in to it look for the RYONET videos. i wont recommend doing it like this video. if you need any help just drop me a massage ill be glad to help you get started

  • It makes me want to silk screen some old shirts of mine !

  • hey do you need a special printer to print the designs for the silk screen

  • no, you don't even have to have a computer to do a design

  • thanks for your response. but what if i cant draw and i need a printer. i would use photoshop to make it then print it on reglar paper...or what kind of paper am i supposed to use for designs

  • you would have to print on films. you need the uv to pass to burn the emulsion

  • you can use photoshop but for it to come out looking good use a program that uses vector format. no dont use reglar paper use transparency to burn the image on the screen.

  • thank you sooo much! a vector format program like what?

  • photo shop can use vector

  • cool vid... im thinking of silkscreening some shirts myself

  • how do u make ur graphics, do u use photoshop?

  • thsnks== dude

  • You should show how to place your design on the screen.

  • okay, one more question,

is the image ust from paper, form like the internet? or is it liek on special paper???

    ur a hero thank u!

  • dude, ur amazing, thanks!!

  • man your so good i want to start making my own t shirts but i cant order any supplies cuz i live far from the usa :(

  • haha he makes me laugh. :)

  • he's cute ^.^

  • where do you find the cheapest supplies?

  • youre cool

  • once you've made a design on a screen...and you want to make a new design...do you have to get an entirely new screen? or is there a way to clean off the old emulsion?

  • You can do both.

  • you can easily clean off the emulsion w/ hot soapy water.

  • idk about the best, but they are helpful

for people on a low budget...

    thanks.

  • Your videos on silkscreening are the best ive seen on here

    thanks!

  • the former message being a reply to some guy who posted THIS VIDEO IS PREFERABLY GAY, not to this vid, i thought it was both badass and informative.

  • nice vid that really helped me and it explained alot..but wat type of piant did u use and where do u get the screen thingy from

  • Lakai rocks!!

  • i did everything, but the ink didnt go through the screen, do u know what i did wrong?

  • the mesh count may be wrong, try to use a very loose and light ink and press the squeege through really well/hard

  • maybe you didnt peel of the plastic at the back..

  • show us how you placed the image on the screen??

  • Thanks! Very straightforward.

  • hi, in your other video you were wearing a shirt with gold writing on it where do i buy gold and chrome (mirror) ink from... i have been looking everywhere please help .. that ink looks amazing

  • I learned how to silk screen in school projects! But this is good too!

  • Check your private messages...I need ur help with all this

  • Nice job...the way you explained , it´s not so difficult to silk...

    Tnx

    Congrats...

  • Good job. Your presentation is exactly how you described it at the beginning. I appreciate that your process is the "cheapest" and I'm going to try it out. Thanks.

  • where do you buy the silk screen and the emulsion from?

  • thanks dude, ur videos are very helpful!

  • hey,nice job, i just have a few questions.

u say u have an image upon an image how can u print that and then say you want to print with the silver looking ink and gold ink that looks like metal and is real shiny can u do that?

  • your going to need foil for that, it requires a heat transfer. i dont know anything else about how to do that. sorry

  • I really enjoyed your tutorial. thank you.

  • i have sent you a private message.

  • thankssss

  • Seena, it's Jordan.... Dope vid man, Really informative!

  • Paint thinner, man. You could clean your screens really well with paint thinner and it won't take the emulsion off your screens.

  • whats that blue thing that you used?..is it just ordinary paint?

  • FABRIC PAINT

  • I have a question... how do you get the graphic on the screen and where do you buy the screens? Very good video by the way.

  • view my other videos

  • Yo! thank for sharing it! Its really informative And I learn alot! Thanks!

  • Good video. Come check out our videos for a ton of info on screen printing.

  • awesome video.. thanks!

  • Thank for the info bro.

  • How hard are you pressing with the squeegie? did it take you a lot of practice? I just ruined 4 shirts (3 had too little ink, 1 had too much) and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...I'm using all the same equipment as you I think - Speedball startup kit & waterbased ink...

  • ya thats what i use..i usually do one cote were i cover the screen VERY lightly with ink so that nothing goes through but the screen is covered. then i i do one hard press through it.. dont be afraid to put a bunch of ink on the screen and make sure u remove the screen softly

  • Thanks :) I also just discovered another helpful trick - I'm using a metal separater/pallet so I can spray it with hairspray for the shirt to stick and not move around during the printing...it's worked so far...hopefully it doesn't end up messing something else up later...?

  • EVERYONE PLEASE CHECK OUT THE NEW WEBSITE:

  • great job . how do you get the imagine on the screen??? please let me know thanks

  • you slaughter the english language

  • you are damn rude! How many languages do you speak? tosser!

  • My response was for gaijin311.

  • 3: English (native), Japanese (second), and Spanish (third, and as a hobby).

I don't pretend to be fluent or proficient at Japanese or Spanish...but you'd better fucking believe I speak my native language well.

  • great vid. Would you consider making a follow up showing

the cleaning process that you mentioned in this one?

  • great vid man...but ya how do you get the graphic onto the screen?

was thinking about making some tees lol

  • The graphics not hard to get on but you need a negative a black and clear picture. I use photoshop to edit out the white and then get some transparencies like they use on the elmo machine sin school from an officemax or any place that sells office supplies for probably around $4 and just print your black image onto there. thats really it.

  • Great video - I've been meaning to get into silk screen printing this summer and you've presented me with a lot of useful tips!

  • You didn't comment on the most important part, which is how to get the design on the screen? Everything else was helpful I guess, but if someone was watching only this they still wouldn't know how to do it.

  • my point exactly!!! so freaking fustrating, thats the one part i havent figured out.

  • i have lakai shoes lol

  • thanks yo

  • is the car for sale??? I'll buy it, defusion for life baby...yee-yee

  • how about diff screens and messhes what kind of diff do they make

  • Absolutely professional presentation! Great job!

    from Boston, MA

  • Hey question, (p.s. i really enjoyed the video very helpful) when you iron it..do you iron directly onto the graphic? Like the paint wont stick to the iron? Or should you use like a paper towel over the shirt?

  • hey.. you need to have the graphic dry, then you iron it on a dry heat (directly on the graphic) for about 3-4 minutes. then you can bring the heat up ... your looking for when you remove the iron there is smoke that comes out of the ink..

  • your local art store carrys photo emulsion..im going to do another video showing how to use photo emulsion :)

  • Nice video, but i doubt the avarage joe has acces to photo emulsion.

  • hey thanks for all the comments on my video. just wanted to say that this screen cost 50 dollars, and i used photo emulsion to get the graphics in the screen. i found out that its much better if you wash the screen right after you print..sometime the ink drys and its a pain to get out . cheers :)

  • I just started screen printing, and this vid has been a big help. Cheers buddy ;-)
