wow I didn't know her I ran across her video looking for another one and I had to watch. I was all teared up. I didn't know her but by the end of the video I felt like I did. She was a very beautiful girl. And you could tell by the photos she loved life to the fullest. That was a very beautiful tribute to her.

I had just learned a few weeks ago that she passed away. ;/ I was randomly thinking about that episode "back in the saddle" I heard the song on tv or the radio & thought of her,wondered how she was doing. A elementary school friend of mine had this same disease, she also struggled with diabetes & hearing loss. Sadly she passed away at 15, so its a personal thing to me. RIP Angel!

She is such a bueatfull girl, my sister also died from cycstic fybrosis three years ago now and we also to had our own horses. It is such a shame that this illness takes so many amazing people's lifes away, and i just hope and pray that someday people will find a cure for this illness so it doesn't take anyone elses life away.

My cousin ended her courageous battle with CF a week ago today, and we said goodbye to her with a funeral just yesterday. We grew very close over the years and I've never met anyone so brave in such a horrific battle. My most sincere condolences to the family/friends of Katelyn. Both of these brave young ladies now rest easy and without pain. God Bless....

I was looking up tribute videos of people who have lost loved ones to CF and came across this video. I just recently lost my Best Friend and the Love of my life to CF. She was 24 and Meant the world to me. I am glad to see soooo many people with CF living to the fullest. I know my best friend did! Thanks for sharing this video, I plan to walk for in October to help raise money for CF. RIP Ashley Christine Alber and Katelyn Salmont! You both will never be forgotten by the people who love you!

I was in fifth grade I was in the hospital and Katelyn was my roommate, I remember her introducing me to Mackenzie, I still have the piece of paper I had Mackenzie sign. Katelyn was a few years older than I, but I have always remembered her, just today she was in the back of my head for some reason. I always wondered how she was doing now, and although it awhile later, I now know she passed away. She was a lovely girl and left an impression on my heart 9 years ago as my roommate for 4 days.

i have cystic fibrosis, im 16, i was diagnosed at 18 months, and even though not all diagnosis' and strands are as bad as others, it can still be hard, but by looking at this i can tell Katelyn lived everyday to the fullest.

awe, man...I'm so sorry to hear she passed away. She used to live across from where I boarded my horses in Saugus, CA. She used to come into the vet 's office I worked at with her doggies. She was always polite, smiling, and friendly. I knew she was ill, but didn't know she had cystic fibrosis. I'm so sorry for her family and friend's loss.

It's a breathing disorder. People have trouble breathing sadly there is no cure. Eventually there lungs develop scare tissue were they can't breath. It's a horrible thing to go through I'm sure. Again rest in peace Katelyn!!

This is absolutely awful. :-( I remember seeing her on "7th Heaven" and I thought she was just one of the most brightest stars of her generation, but to find out that a star like her has left us so soon before her time is absolutely devestating.

I never even knew she was suffering from CF. I honestly didn't even know she passed until I checked her IMDB page today (on my birthday, no less).

I just found this out. I was watching season 6 and decided to look up where everybody was now and I came across the information that Katelyn had passed away. CF is a tough disease. I lost a friend in March of 2007 to CF. She was only 19. I feel for Mackenzie and the rest of her family.

Unfortunately, Katelyn suffered a bout of Pneumonia that made her very sick right before Christmas and unfortunately, along with her weak lungs from her CF illness, her health declined rapidly. It's very dangerous when someone with CF contracts the flu, cold, or especially Pneumonia.

Yeahh! I just got out of the hospital from staph infection that made my pft's decline and my brother is in because he has Pneumonia in both of his lungs. He really wasn't doing very good. He said he feels better but his pft's haven't gone up at all. Katelyn looked gorgeous inside and out! <3

i first saw katelyn on 7th heaven and the character she played had CF. i read somewhere online that katelyn in real life suffered from CF and i also read that she was always so optomistic. she has been my inspiration to keep living another day with my CF because "i have good days and bad days with my cf. some days are tough and the medical treatments are a pain in the butt. but you know what, i get through those days just so i can enjoy the good days, and i have plenty of good days" RIP Katelyn

No one really knows at the moment, but it's believed to be an unexpected complication of her cystic fibrosis. Perhaps her body started to reject her new lungs, if the anti-rejection meds she was taking stopped working, or perhaps she just caught a bad virus and her lungs just filled with fluid.
