  • definitely not snow flake eel lol snowflake eels have white spots i believe its a moray

  • @goobber08 i believe that they are the same eel some just call them snowflake morey eel and morey ell and their color variation from like to dark depends on the color of the rock.

  • The vid is two stars cause poor lighting...

  • sweet vid

  • are these snowflake eels?

  • No The common name is Fresh Water Moray Eel

  • why is this vid only 2 stars?

  • probably because of the quality of the video. I'm waiting patiently to obtain more of these eels and then I'll post some better quality vids.

  • sick vid man. ive never seen my eel eat before but ive woken up with my big goldfish, siemess fighting fish, cleaner fish, and two others missing. my eels awesome.

  • will eels eat snails?

  • Eels probably won't eat snail, though I really don't know that for sure. They hunt primarily by smell and are attracted to movement. Snails move too slow to get their attention... hmmm though my eels have learned to smell and eat sinking pellets so again, I'm not too sure.

  • i was thinking they did too my snails keep dissapeaing from there shells but my eel never eats anything

  • Do you have any crustaceans in the tank that might be picking them out of the shell? I assume you don't have a loach if you're not blaming it on it. When snails die they become dislocated from their shell and can easily get sucked out... maybe they're just dying.

  • those were scats in the back?? green spotted scats??

  • Green and Red Ruby

  • now i know how my crayfish disappeared when i bought an eel. did't think they can actually eat it.

  • i want a pet eel, but my dad doesn't want it because he thinks i'll lose a finger, and there are also little ones around. a japanese restaurant has one, but they did animal cruelty. they took out it's teeth. they don't have it anymore, i think it died.

  • so dark...

  • I know and I appologize. I actually took the footage with a still camera and with very poor lighting. I need to do it all over again, and by that I mean starting with buying the fish! I had a total wipe on this tank.

  • haha stupid cray fish. But man when you think about, I hate to be that cray fish...

  • i have an eel to.. i jus got him i was wondering whats best to feed them im feeding mine blood worms would baby guppies and ghost be good feeders to?hes still a baby..

  • If you have this type of eel, they like live foods. But surprisingly mine ate carnivore SINKING pellets by Hikari too. Since they have poor eyesight, they "taste" anything small and moving. Experiment and diversity of diet is best.

  • lol if i were to stick both my aquariums in there the eel would own in 2 secs lmao

  • is this freshwater

  • Do you need a special pump like you do for a saltwater aquarium?

  • Nothing "special", just make sure your equipment is for aquarium use. I use a canister filter for this tank. As for clean-up, these guys aren't messy eaters, but they do produce lots of waste, so make sure you have adequate flitration.

  • so a canister filter is good for a saltwater tank?

  • whoops clicked on accident, wanted to ask you what ur saltinity was at in that tank i wanted to get columbian sharks scats and a moray like yours and would like an ideo on the saltinity I would need, thx

  • Sorry for the delay. I keep this tank at 1/2 sea strength, I find that they are happiest there and show signs of distress when it's lower. So it's at 1.013 and I've gone as high as 1.020. They basically become SW fish as adults.

  • I have a question, I'm thinking of getting just baout

  • UBER PWNED!

  • thanks for replying hope you do more clips

  • wow im thinking of getting one myself are they hard to keep. Also do you know ig they can get? very nice tank

  • Not hard to keep at all, they need hiding places!!! and do better in near full strenght salt water conditions. I've heard how they are escape artist, none of mine never tried, even when I leave the tops open... I guess they like the tank conditions and the HIDING PLACES!!!

  • What kind of freshwater moray

  • I believe the scientific name is Gymnothorax Tile. "Fresh" is the common name, but I found that keeping them in 1/2 all the way to full strength salt water is best for them.

  • PWND.

  • CRAZY

  • cool eels, what kind are they?

i like the tank setup as well. luvin the fish

  • The common name is Fresh Water Moray Eel. This is a brackish tank and the other co-stars are Scats, Columbian Sharks and Datnoids.
