@thewhisperedrose (assuming you are still on speaking terms) Tell your parent that what you did was wrong and explain step-by-step the reasoning behind it. Then ask if they agree that what you did was wrong and end the conversation there. Don't even mention what they did to provoke you, just let them contemplate your apology and I think that will get the gears turning in their head much easier than a shouting match or telling them something they can disagree with.
How do you repair it if you have already taken the option to bully the parent back?
