Madam President Mattie Moss Clark ; What can I say that havn't been said about this GREAT WOMEN OF GOD. Well, most of the times when she came to Jackson, MS She came to my Church , LIBERALTRINITY COGIC 145 West Qakley Street ,where my father Supt.D.R.Curry,Sr was host Pastor.MAN.!!! and everytime she got in front of that choir we turn from just a regular choir to a SUPER ANOITIED CHOIR. She always brought REVIVAL( to b brought ALIVE ) to us . It's bcost of her ANOITING that fell and still rest

she was the first person to record a choir on casette and She won tons of Gold records for that. And she could sing. Mama had the annointing and God took her to a whole new level. You know how God will just take your dreams and make them , bigger and better than you can

imagine. Mattie new that God would have great things in store for her as long as she kept lifting up his Holy Name.

Honestly I beleieve that there was always more than one Queen of Gospel. Shirley Ceasar and Albertina Walker are the living Queens of Gospel right now, but Mahalia Jackson and Mattie Moss Clark were Queens of Gospel. Truth be told Mahalia has always been renowned as an Original Queen, but Mattie Clark deserves it as well because she created the three part harmony for choirs, she was President of the Music Department for the COGIC for 25 years. She started the Clark Conservatory of Music,

When I was a young child back in the 80's she came to Battle Creek Michigan and taught 6 songs in 30 mins and was done. The choir came that night and sung like they been singing together for 30 years! And Twinkie was on the Hammond Organ, no drummer, This is when choirs clapped their hands. She was truly a saint and a pioneer and way way ahead of her time.

Did Pastor Shirley Ceasar ever get a chance to meet your Grandmother or does she just know of her from what your mother and Aunts and other people in the churches have said about Mother Mattie's life and her achievements?

A few of Mattie Moss Clark's albums were Billboard Gospel chart toppers in the 1980's. Many choirs sing her songs, and don't even know it, or they are singing a song Twinkie wrote, but appeared on Mattie's albums.

Actually, Dr. Mattie Moss Clark did receive the first Gold album in Gospel music for a choir album. No one else had recorded choirs and received gold status for them, before Mattie Moss Clark, she began recording choirs back in the 1950's. She also had several COGIC albums that were best sellers, since COGIC denomination had about 6 million people back then.
