  • I watched this aged about 3 and I still remember every single episode...

  • i love this christ do i feel old!!!!! thanks for posting ;-))

  • I'm amazed that Tiny Clanger can draw perfectly straight lines on a rock wall freehand.

  • Damn soup dragons, they'll eat anything. Mine's just the same.

  • I loved the Clangers

  • @ianuk2008 I also loved the clangers

  • How lucky we were - delightfully silly!

  • Magical.

  • This took me back to the early 1970's as a child and really did bring tears to my eyes - what's happened to the world ? Thank you Oliver Postgate

  • You could hear a pin drop in my house when the "Clangers" were on.

  • one of the best pieces of telly EVER!

  • surely it should have been SIR Oliver Postgate

  • Absolutely charming, i love it just as much at forty four years old as i did at four years old ! Imaginative, unpatronising and slightly out there, a classic ! RIP Oliver we miss you.

  • SOUP DRAGON FTW

  • That should be a C# and an F#. The clangers lied to me.

  • Yes, it is normal that you can understand them. Oliver postgate deliberately "talked" the scripts he wrote for the Clangers as he played the Swanee Whistle when he recorded the sound tracks. He was way ahead of his time before digital voice encoders & MIDI.

  • It is normal that you can understand them. Oliver postgate actually"talked" the scripts he wrote as he blew through the Swanee Whistle when he recorded the sound tracks.

  • If the Soup Dragon was to become a Pokémon life would have meaning

  • These videos never fail to make me smile.

  • Soup dragon you hungry minx.... Leave those notes alone.

  • Also: Why can't more children's programs be more like the Clangers? Instead we end up with brighly-coloured, farsical screaming nonsense like the Tellitubbies or Boo-Bahs.

  • @Kenazzle Because this takes TALENT!!

  • That Clanger is marvelously proficient at drawing evenly-spaced perfectly straight lines. I'm impressed!

  • Charlie Brooker did a a wonderful job of eulogizing Oliver a while back.

Having said that the guys who wrote and produced this probably still haven't come down.

  • i think i have just exploded from nostalgia overload. this is my childhood right here

  • I'm actually having a nostalgia overload here. Every five seconds I'm like I REMEMBER THAT CLOUD or I REMEMBER THAT TREE!

  • OMG i saw this episode before but last time i saw it i was like 4, how do i remember this. xxxx

  • shame they don't make programs like this today.

  • who the hell is the iron chicken?

  • @rathbloom24 - a chicken made of iron, fool.

  • Postgate was just the best.

  • Has anyone noticed that the music Tiny Clanger discovers resembles the theme tune to Bagpuss?

  • Red soup, green soup and sometimes even purply-blue soup, nom nom nom!

  • Brilliant

  • ROMLINGANE!!!!:):)

  • 52 year old and still loving them......just wish they wouldn't swear so much!

  • WHAT TWO PEOPLE DISLIKED THIS ?!!!1

  • THE SOUP DRAGON IS GOD!

  • One of my best friends is Oliver Postgate's great nephew! ;D

  • I feel very lucky to have been a little 'un born in 1972 and able to watch Oliver Postgate's shows as I grew up. Thank you Oliver, I never met you, but you made shows with characters I will remember forever. They became an integral part of my childhood and the memories of sitting with my Mam watching these are priceless. The little girl in me would like to say thank you for that gift...

  • The clangers wre the original knitted character , harry hill may have been inspired by them...........funny looking back at them , from 4 to 48, my children think they are funny.<3

  • The Clangers have changed a lot since then. Now they destroy other worlds and enslave whole races. They are spreading rapidly and they are coming this way. Be warned.

  • @DdraigX I think its not that abnormal cos I can too!

  • The Late Great Oliver Postgate....

Because the Brits are THAT awesome.

  • Sweet and imaginative in a way that we may never see again.

    Oliver Postgate - class act.

  • Oliver Postgate - Thank you man.

  • Some of the best kids tv ever made!

  • Thank you Oliver wherever you are - you shaped childhoods everywhere...

  • I translated Tolstoy`s War and Peace into Clanger once, not many bought it, pity I thought it quite an acheivement but hey I was only 12 years old.

  • oh and how i curse people that say "I dropped a clanger"

These people are nothing more than clanger abusers, may they rot in hell

  • I don't tend to spill my beer whilst speaking in clanger language but I do have a problem the other end which usually means I spend most of the time stinking of urine.

I am most fascinated that you can actually whistle the clanger language, I form a tight round circle with my lips and blow from deep down in my lungs to get the clanger language to sound precise.

In the clanger world that I now live in 22 hours of every day, you would be recognised as being from another planet :)

  • The clangers are all a part of my mental condition which matured very shortly after watching this program.

I often walk the high street on a busy Saturday afternoon speaking out loud in clanger language whilst drinking a can of special brew.

Why did they have to put this program on for me to see :(

  • I do that after 3 litres of Tennants Super, we should have a day out.

  • now i know how bad the graohics i never relised that beforewhen i was alot younger i used to love watching the clangers

  • LOVE the clangers so sweet and imaginative shame how tv has gone downhill nowadays

  • Soooo cute when she taps the notes on her nose

  • Oliver Postgate has the best voice in the world for narrating children`s programs.Coupled with firman`s magic!!!

  • The little tunes she makes are so cute! xD

    Good times

  • how cool is the soup dragon

  • beautiful. Brings me back memories. ALMOST EVERYTHING WAS DONE BY STOP MOTION

  • A psycodelic hit !!!

  • Its quite amazing just how far the standards for children's tv has dropped over the years... i mean, they used to be like this, imaginative and quite descriptive, now there sound bytes that could give a non-epileptic person a fit!

  • i am 5 again! i love the clangers! they rule the world!

  • Magic....i felt like i was 7 years old again

  • clangers rock!

  • this video is so cute, naughty Soup Dragon :)
