  • "12,000 views in 2 years, no wonder you are such a jealous fagboi"

LOL!! And THAT coming from the loser who (if he hadn't been ridiculed on infomania!) wouldn't even have HALF that for ALL of his FOURTY-THREE videos COMBINED!! LOOOOL!! What a fuckin' ASS-HAT!!

  • Reminds me of the Chinese clone fones

  • You video could not be more boring and you are a corporate tool peddling crap that no one is interested in.

  • I know I shouldn't be peddling this crap, you're right. But then again I think I'm doing quite the opposite.

And it's always an honor to be called a "corporate tool" (LOOOOL!) by some sad little freetard lemming. Thanks.

Try getting out of your basement more often and sniff some REALITY, nerd. You're pathetic.

  • lin2log, the first sentence of your description sums up my thoughts of this product. It *is* really sad, it just failed so hard. I feel embarrassed for the people that designed/marketed this. I feel embarrassed for the people who made the OS. I feel embarrassed for the people that actually bought one. Some late Android releases make it a little better but since it doesn't support on screen keyboards it's practically useless.

  • Oh and by the way... there are over SEVENTY countries that sell the iPhone for mostly MUCH less. But that's probably too hard for your typical narrow-mined all american hokey red-neck, to have to think outside of his sorry little suburban boundries, huh?

    Sad.

  • @Ghostleader8

"you're paying $2000 minimum for the phone because the plan has to be purchased.[...] openmoko is bought for $400 with no contract"

    :-)))))

Yeah! I we can see what THAT gets us!! Hoo-fuckin'-ray!!

Name me any other phone (worth mentioning and in ANY way comparable, which the moko ISN'T) that *doesn't* run you at least your (alleged) cost of an iPhone, when you buy it... well??

    Yeah, I thought so.

  • Epic freaking video man. This is why I'm glad I gave up all that opensource bullshit and went with an iPhone. In concept I was excited for the OpenMoko but as time went on and they finalized their hardware specs I realized they were fucking idiots. Now I have myself an iPhone 3G and I enjoy a cellphone that actually works.

  • how can you compare the developer version of the openmoko with the iphone? The consumer ready phone is not out yet!

  • Oh god I LOVE the way a freetard, brainless, wannabe "political statement" making brain works.

"The consumer ready phone is not out yet!"

LOL! Wonder how often we're gonna hear THAT sad record again??

Sure... funny enough, if anyone else (but ESPECIALLY APPLE) were the ones that released that kind of crap for FOUR HUNDRED BUCKS, then your ass would be ALL over it, wouldn't it??

You freetards are such pathetic HYPOCRITES... as long as it's "for the cause" you can claim ANY bullshit, huh??

  • lin2log, you are totally against everything mac, aren't you? if you don't know, mac osx and the iphone OS are stil based on an open-sourced project, but the editing objects were taken out for them. so if somebody pulled the linux project (somehow), then ipods, macs, and iphones would always be in the same state, and would never get better.

of course, people would still flock to apple products.

  • "lin2log, you are totally against everything mac, aren't you?"

LOL... huh?? Wha?? Exactly hat are you smokin' dude?? Whenever did the word MAC get mentioned here?? I think you seriously need to brush up on your reading comprehension abilities... wow.

  • wow, did you even read my entire comment?

    BTW, i meant unix.

p.s. i got my shit from some dude in cleveland.

    good shit

    *_*

  • Paaahahhahaha... you're actually, *seriously* suggesting, that OS X and the iPod are somehow kept up to speed by some conglomerate of basement dwelling geeks and Apple is just sitting there waiting for THEIR improvements so they somehow can copy them over?? LOL! So Apple is somehow dependent on OTHERS for R&D??

That dude in Cleveland is stretching your crack with rat poison or SOMETHING... I'd switch quick! You're already delusional!

OUCH. That one truly takes the cake! rotflmao!

  • I agree that an iPhone comparison is unwarranted at this stage. iPhone is a polished hardware/software product aimed at the masses. But Lin2log, other than the physical size of the phone, I have a feeling that most of the issues (even stylus based ones) can be address by some good software... I'm curious to see how android might be able to transform this hardware, and I think that might be answered soon.

  • Yeah... open source's most favorite word in the world... SOON. The biggest and most transparent excuse for "we have NO fuckin' idea, because no one actually has a grip on open source" next version is going to be "unfinished" and "much better SOON!" and so on and so on and so on... you just need to wait for THOUSANDS of freetards to get their EGOS out of the way and worry more about USABILITY and NECESSITY. As if the MASSES were a bad thing?? LOL!

  • "This would be impossible to do on the iPhone"

Sorry, but: HUH?? Exactly what info do you base a claim like that on?? Are you a developer? Have you worked with/seen/tested the iPhone SDK, therefore KNOW there is something in there that would deny you that possibility?

And all due respect to your having a disability, but to claim that this BS could somehow be better because of the POSSIBILITY of a feature that serves only a very SMALL % of the users?? A tad near-sighted, no? (no pun intended)

  • I'm going to post a video about this. Many people do not understand our unique needs.

  • Then you're missing the point completely. Since judging a product intended for a MASS market, NOT a "special interest" group by it (supposed/alleged) capabilities geared towards said group is BS. But you never ONCE even mentioned that fact in your initial argument in the video so it has no place here.

If you want to say "a better product than the iPhone FOR ME" then do that. Don't use it as a scapegoat/excuse later in the game for an irrelevant claim for judgement on the iPhone AS A WHOLE.

  • It does not make sense to compare the openmoko with the iphone "as a whole". The openmoko people is aiming for a small niche market, but hopefully this niche market is large enough to allow them to survive.

Your complaints about the keyboard is valid, but I guess that some people are willing to live with a few glitches if they can get a phone with free software.

If anyone (including the FSF) told your otherwise then they have been cheating you into buying the wrong phone.

  • Um... who are you talking to? Me or rml? Since I'm not the one that MADE that comparison. On the other hand, you can't SERIOUSLY think this thing isn't MEANT to be compared to the iPhone, can you?? Gimme a break! It's an obvious, blatant "Me too!" product! FEW GLITCHES... FREE software?? Do you read what you write? lol! Those are MAJOR glitches and since when do I pay for the iPhone (OS) SOFTWARE??! And to add insult to injury, I pay 199 for the iPhone and FOUR HUNDRED for the Moko... hellooo??

  • You should not speak so confidently if you don't have a remote idea of what free software is. It is about freedom, not about prize.

  • How romantic huh? You moron.

I'm sick of bullshit peddling. Show me the code, show me the project pages, show me the alpha builds, show me the competent project managers, show me a modicum of sanity, show me a viable business model, show me some restraint on fucking up everything due to petty EGO issues, and most of all show me satisfied users doing something with them, not geeks fiddling. So far you have vague promises. But it will come, I swear! You just need to enable it with some CLI magic!

  • Oh... and who or what is "FSF"?? And you think that IF companies like e.g. SEGA or EA were to dev games for the Moko (lol... hardly!), that they would be FREE? Or ANY usable, commercial quality software?? Oh puh-leeeeze... wake UP dude. Take your open source fist down from over your head, you're delusional. I'll PAY for functional, well dev'ed sw and hw over free GLITCHY nerd-ware any day! Even the FREE apps in the AppStore (over 200 and growing!) is lightyears better than anything on the Moko.

  • I think the OpenMoko was meant to be used with a stylus. In terms of my area of interest, blindness technology, this pressure sensitive screen and stylus are what we could build a screen reader interface around. We have access to Pocket PCs on the market and the screen reader takes all four corners of the touch screen, and assigns them to virtual keys. This would be impossible to do on the iPhone, making development of a screen reader difficult, if not impossible.

  • oh, and by the way... the Moko screen is SMALLER and having to use a stylus is just plain EIGHTIES, sorry. Like Apple, if you make a completely new product, then why avoid IMPROVEMENTS?? A stylus is a major step BACK.

Even that much more embarrassing since it's a pathetic, half-assed "me too!" product.

  • Some stacks will be finger based and some will be stylus based. So we have a freedom of choice here that the apple users never will have.

  • LOL! Just what I so *love* about them cute little freetards. If there were MOUSE "stacks" (pfff, a true tard) and you could optionally get it w/ a b/w screen even THAT would somehow be super! Cause it's "freeee and opeeen!!" Like the new girlfriend that's PERFECT only because she blows you whenever you want... never mind that she only has ONE EYE and SMELLS!

You moron. Wake up. Brain-dead and blind "it may-coulda-shoulda-woulda" arguments.

400 bucks buddy... FOUR HUNDRED! For THAT!

  • in my country it's 816 bucks mate..K. EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTEEN for an iphone. Do you have a smart*ss comment on that. And your comment on the keyboard isn't right. That it is one keyboard you can install. When it's right from the box (as you say), it has a bigger keyboard. The keyboard that you show is a full-functional qwerty-keyboard. I don't know if the iphone has that.

  • LOL! WHAT?? 800 bucks... yeah, right! What utter BULLSHIT! Exactly what country would that be?? Funny you don't mention that, huh? Gee, I wonder why??

And the keyboard is as "right" as the Moko, sorry... in fact I'm REALLY sorry. Sorry that anything like this actually ever sees the light of day... puh-leeeeeze...

And sorry, tard, the iPhone very much has a qwerty or even QWERTZ keyboard or whatever you need. So quit TARDING and try gettin' INFORMED... jesus. How utterly SAD.

  • I live in Belgium. If you don't believe me that is your problem. It costs about 525€. And that is about 800$.

I don't know what you have against openmoko. If people like to engage themselves to help build a phone then why don't you let them.

  • Oh jesus, don't be *stupid* dude. You're talking about the UNLOCKED version! Buying an unlocked phone *anywhere*, be it an iPhone or not, will cost you that! The company selling the iPhone also has it for *25* EUROS *with a plan*! Show me that for the Moko! Oops... can't? Gee. So paying *400* for a nearly useless phone is BETTER than 25 for one that works? With GPS, the best mobile browser, more than a THOUSAND apps, multitouch, NO STYLUS, etc.

Just to make some "political statement"? Grow up!

  • Couldn't have said it better myself, thanks AndieM. My point exactly. If you buy anything even nearly comparable to an iPhone, e.g. a Blackberry (tho not even NEAR the quality and usability of an iPhone) and it's unlocked, you actually pay MORE. So get your facts straight trenson89 or at least don't try to make the iPhone look like some EXCEPTION that it just plain ISN'T. Just a cheap shot and totally irreverent. But what else are you left with as an latent open-sorcerer other than irreverence?

  • again, you forget the plan, costs minimum $2000 U.S.

  • "the plan, costs minimum $2000 U.S."

Huh... wha?? Haven't caught that we're talking about the cost of the PHONE yet, huh?? Ouch. And if you mean $2K by adding up cost of phone PLUS the monthly cost of the service-plan, then don't be a dolt. As if ANY phone (of the "smart-phone" class) cost any less by THAT bill... pffff... moron. Yet another one grasping for straws of complete irreverence, whilst sinking ever so slowly in his mud puddle of "arguments"... lol. Sad.

  • can't buy an unlocked iphone, dumbass. stop posting, as you obviously don't even own one.

  • "can't buy an unlocked iphone "

Pffffaaaaahahahahahhaaaa... thanks for proving your (frighteningly high) level of moronisism and typical narrow-minded american bone-headedness with that one! Bravo!

Go vote McCaine or whatever you quixotic red-necks do... you're tiresome.

Oh, and sorry, bubba, but I in fact just bought an iPhone two days ago and am even more amazed by it than I thought I would be! The AppStore ROCKS! (and it EXISTS!... imagine that!)

  • a qwerty is a full slide out/flip out keyboard, so the iphone doesn't have one.

yes, it has a virtual one, but that's not a physical keyboard obviusly

so one more time for the slow ones,

qwerty=physical keyboard, not an on-screen one.

  • "qwerty=physical keyboard, not an on-screen one."

What are you? EIGHT? Not too far on the reading comprehension, are we?? Or maybe just joining the ACTUAL thread at hand would solve your completely brainless comments not making ANY sense in context? We now know who's the SLOW one, huh? (VERY mildly put!)

That comparison was between two phone's which BOTH have ON-SCREEN keyboard's. One usable, the other completely and utterly UNUSABLE. Get with the program or just STFU, how bout it?? Duuuuh...

  • excuse me, youtube didn't put my comment where it should be.

again. you are a dumbass. you said "you can make it a qwertz!" ha. i laugh at thy.

a qwert keyboard is that, a KEYBOARD.

i want you to look at the typing utensil on whatever shitty pc you use to peddle your shitty, unresearched comments. that, is a keyboard. what the iphone has is a tactile display.

  • Only a true tard could argue that buying a FOUR HUNDRED dollar phone because it may... just MAY become mildly useable *somewhere* in the future after countless hacks and updates (but STILL be missing things like GPS!) as opposed to buying e.g. an iPhone for $199 (even less outside the US!) that is useable NOW!

Man... you guys are worse than I imagined.

As if any iPhone user EVER wished he could use a stylus!! LOL! That's called "trying to turn (bull)shit into gold" buddy. YOU CAN'T.

  • my god, you forgot that not everybody runs on american currency. 128 in europe is still $200, buddy.

  • "my god, you forgot that not everybody runs on american currency."

wow, I'm his God sooner than I expected. That was easy.

128 WHAT? Virgin's? PEZ? Camel's? Or maybe... Euro? And gee, Einstein, guess what? I LIVE IN EUROPE, dumbass. And 800 bucks would be more than 500 €'s and in NO country where you can buy the iPhone LEGALLY does it cost €500, sorry. And no, "unlocked" one's like in France etc. do NOT count, thank you. If you actually bought one of those, you're a DOLT and had best shut up.

  • if i am correct an unlocked iphone 3g in italy costs 499 euros, but only italian people are able to buy it.

    Open source matters.

  • "iphone 3g in italy costs 499 euros"

That's not even 750 bucks, by the way.

Tell that to "Ghostleader8" (even a moron NICK! lol). But he can't even find Italy on a fuckin' MAP without Google Earth telling him where it is first... ;-)))))
