Dehay magazine in Ethiopia interviewed Fitsum Zemichael last year whether or not he is ethiopian?...he replied by saying "b'wereket tirah zeyikones, b'demey ewin ethiopiawi iye"...which besically means.."he is not only ethiopian on paper but also ethiopian by blood"...you can have a clear understanding of his nationality from the above statement...if it really concerns you.

He escaped from Eritrea during the Ethio-Eritrea war...in an interview with a tigrigna magazine in Mekelle, he stated that he was born in Nazret (adama) and attended high school in Asmara ( and i believe his dad is eritrean) he mentioned his mother is from Ethiopia. He now lives in Addis where he writes and producers music for Tigrigna singers!!
