That's badass... And a nice ride you have there... What headlights setup are you using? I'd love that for my 660R but can't find large trail lights like that anywhere
sweet..im a new rider and i have a handicap with my right hand so obv have 2 get throttle switched but how hard is steering i wud like 2 go on trails but not to sure how far i shud push myself
When 50%+ of the frame is still images(bike/rider/etc) GoPro looks good but when you put the cam in front of the vehicle and record the moving terrain, GoPro sucks. Great video though!
@AtvRacer30 Yeah, from this angle they look odd. Wide angle lens doesn't help. But running 75 down a dirt road across the desert at night with no moon... I'm glad they are on there. Function trumps style in that case
what editing software have you used to do this...??? got couple of hours footage from my gopro and ltr450 just not sure what the easiest editing programme to use..
That is some hot camera work. I also have the Go Pro HD and found that by placing one of the 3M helmet mounts on the side of your helmet give the perfect first person view. Feels just like your the camera is in side your helmet. You have to use the longer mounting arm are included with the HDmotor sport kit.
Awesome job! Great shots, great angles... some time went into this, I can tell. I'm inspired. I was curious though about your 1st person... did you use the chest mount? Seemed like your angle could have been a little higher up and not so much focused on your steering column. Otherwise, this was one of the best GoPro videos I've seen so far!
@660raptor4life Well I've got a lot more HP than stock, so I roll on in 2nd or 3rd, then shift up to 3rd or 4th or 5th depending on how fast I get going. Just practice bringing it up to the balance point, the front end has to come up higher than you think. Then practice using the rear brake to bring the nose down, it will save your butt one day.
@cirkus197817 lol yea i noticed that. when i first started doing wheelies i figured out your balance point is wayyy higher back than you think so its kind of scary at first.
@smoothhonda Yeah, not the GoPro chest mount, but a regular mount stickied to my chest protector. I like that view better than from on top of my head. I think it immerses the viewer better.
I was expecting him to ride up on some swimsuit models or something. Ive seen this a million times from behind my bars. But seriously, the GoPro friggin rox in HD
@imONLYhalfEVIL666 This is the normal wide GoPro. I now use the HD. You can see a huge improvement in quality. Look at my other videos, under "HD HERo - GoPro - Little OOOPS in the dunes at Glamis.
Nice job man...you should make a tutorial on how to wheelie...I wanna learn...but soon as I pop up i get that "oh damn ima fall backwards feeling"...then I kick my feet out to the side as if I was falling backwards in a chair...and land the bike...I gotta get over that feeling but who wants to fall?...also...0:48 was a nice shot...nice work...I like the camera on the front grab bar looking at you as well...
@Minus31 The way I learned was this. Find a wide open spot, start in first gear and just focus on learning rear brake control. Pop the front up and intentionally bring it too high. Use the rear brake to stop the front end and bring it back down. Do that till you're comfortable using the rear brake, it'll save your butt in the future. Then you gotta work on finding the balance point...it's higher than you think.
..... Once you're comfortable with the front end up at the balance point, you can keep it up just by modulating the throttle, and you only need the back brake in an emergency.
@cirkus197817 Yea I gotta get use to that feeling of going backwards...but next time I go riding ima hit a open field...but you should make a video...it a be nice because very simple things for you might be hard for other people...for example...I never popped my clutch...the bike has enough power to bring me up in 1st gear just hittin the throttle...so I don't know if it a be more easy ya way or not...but when I tryed popping the cluthc I think I stalled...so..ima new rider...8 hours total...
@Minus31 I've done a bit of aftermarket power-adders to my bike so I definitely don't use the clutch. But you don't need to, it's easier without. I use second gear, no clutch, but can use 3rd and 4th depending on how fast I'm going. 4th gear in the dunes over a small rise can get the front end up real easy. Try riding easy in 2nd, then let off the throttle and crack it open just to get the front up and ease off the gas as the front gets higher. The higher you go, the slower you can go.
@Maxomath The lights are HID's from B a j a D e s i g n s . c o m. They are insanely bright and light up the night. A must for eith riding in the dunes at night or high speed desert riding. At 74mph I can't outrun my lights!
@cirkus197817 lol, but they look good on you're quad from this view, so I don't care about them, just wanted to know if you raced in Baja competitions
i cant wait to make a video like this on my sport bike. I already have music, angles, roads ideas, and other riders planed out haha. Now all i need is the go pro hd lol
@jeenyus720 Yeah, make sure you get the HD, the video is 1,000 times better than the regular HERO. And get AT LEAST an 8 GB card. I can really fill a card quick even filming in 720P 30FPS. And there's still two higher qualities above that that eat up more GB's.
@MyFilthyQuadSport this was done on a standard def wide hero. I just picked up an HD GoPro last week and the footage is amazing. The adhesive mounts use 3M VHB. If applied to a clean surface they are on almost permanently.
@cirkus197817 yeah no offense to you or anything, nice vid though man; so would you recommoend the raptor 700? ive been lookin for a new quad and seriously conseidering the raptor but id like a first hand opinion is it too much power
@seanutbrittle22 I don't think its too much power, but then again mine is making 55HP now. Not the most powerful Raptor out there, but better than the 34HP I had stock! Raptors are a great bike, you won't be sad you got one.
@cirkus197817 awesome, cause im lookin for sortof my first real quad, ive had a blaster in the past to play on but now i wann move up, im about 6' 220lbs so i wanna make sure i get a bike that i eventually will want more later on and bein the rapotrs the top rated of he big bore quads it was pretty much a no brainer
@seanutbrittle22 Well I'm 5'10"/205 and it's good for my size. I don't think you'll find another bike in this cc class that's going to match it. It's not the fastest bike, but it's got lots of grunt which makes it fun to ride. Mine does 74 on level ground which is enough for me. But I have some mods. Anyways, I think a guy your size would do best to be on a Raptor. Just my opinion.
Are those aftermarket handle bars? I love the raptor 700rs. My buddy had one and if you hit the gas WAY to hard to would rip you right off the back! Its a VERY awesome 4 wheeler and we had some fun times riding before we couldn't afford it anymore. Plus he got his repowed :P
Sik vid man, the up close one at like 2:20ish are badass. I keep wanting to do a vid like this but once i get out riding I never want to stop and set the camera up, then pick it back up etc lol
Once the mount is placed, it's fairly permanent. It can be removed with enough force. Several mounts are included unless you get the camera only, and you can buy a "grab bag" of mounts from GoPro.
I ride alone a lot because for one I like to ride pretty fast and aggressive so that means I like to be out front and two, my tires throw some very dangerous rocks so no one likes to be behind me. But I like to ride with friends too, especially in the dunes.
you can compete in everything on a yfz, but you couldnt compete on a 700r at mx at all. i mean you could but you would be smoked. And you can always make your yfz as fast as a 700r, but the 700 will never hadle as well as a yfz
Hey will do! And that is good to know about the editing! I think as long as I have an editing program that supports mpeg files, i'll be alright. Im pretty sure in windows movie maker, you have to convert the file to use it there, which will degrade the quality.
I also remember reading somewhere that youtube will be supporting 1080p format in a week or so, which is great. Hopefully they can do something about the quality loss.
That would make 3 of us. Mine is supposed to be in the 22nd. I paid $300 flat, no tax, free shipping, and with a free 4gb memory card. I couldnt find it anywhere cheaper than that. Only thing I really want to experiment with is which editing program will lease likely loose quality before it is posted onto youtube. Can't wait though! My last helmet cam video was done with a 5mp digicamera, and ductape, so this will be real nice!
Thanks man. Congrats on your purchase. You'll love it. In my experience, most of the quality loss won't be in the editing, it will occur in the upload to YouTube. Good luck with the editing, don't forget to send a message when you get something uploaded!
Check out the newest: GOPRO HD 1080p helmet camera... It is amazing! I'm getting mine Dec 17th and I cannot wait. Only $259.00 before shipping. BEST video on the market now. Check out their vids here on YT. Yeah...until the 1080p the GoPRO wide standard was the best. of course the rest of the work you put into this vid is what also makes it awesome! GREAT job.
you have the same lights as mine .. those are best lights ever! check my videos :) and very good video editing! respect :)

can u take the sticky mount off and move to another place??
TheJagar 2 years ago
Once the mount is placed, it's fairly permanent. It can be removed with enough force. Several mounts are included unless you get the camera only, and you can buy a "grab bag" of mounts from GoPro.

ya i have the hd hero hd with suction cup and stuff that grab bag sucks tho

That was great and I think the clearest video made with the GoPro non HD on YT. Any tips?

Experiment with crazy angles, you'll be surprised with the shots you will get.

do you always ride alone???
hasanucoz 2 years ago
I ride alone a lot because for one I like to ride pretty fast and aggressive so that means I like to be out front and two, my tires throw some very dangerous rocks so no one likes to be behind me. But I like to ride with friends too, especially in the dunes.

@cirkus197817 oh.:) thanks for replying,i like to ride alone too :)

ladiezman247 2 years ago
I love my Raptor but if I got something to replace it it would be the 450.
cirkus197817 2 years ago
you can compete in everything on a yfz, but you couldnt compete on a 700r at mx at all. i mean you could but you would be smoked.

And ofcourse, awesome video! 5 stars!

GREAT job.

Thanks, I'm waiting for my 1080 as we speak. :)
