  • Salam zalemdel, bsyar tashakor bare gapha-ye shirinetan wa mo khosh darim ka be New York safar konim wa program ejra konim. Thank you for your kind remarks. We have visited the east coast for a few concerts. We had a No Ruz show on the Persian Voice of America and a concert for an Iranian group at Columbia University. For such events we have two musicians and four dancers. We have two of our dancers living on the East Coast, so we mainly need to transport 4 people from Salt Lake City. Thanks, LM

  • KUDOS!!!!

Excellent dancing! it's such a pleasure and honor to see someone who is non-Afghan to do such a phenomenal performance. I am truly humbled by your dedication and motivation to learn the dance and art of Afghanistan. Warm heart appreciation!!!

I look forward to your other videos, and perhaps a concert tour in NYC/NJ area.

  • Salaam Wantadarha.

  • Salam

    is she afghan?

  • nice daie pase peri beshak

  • jaan jaan zalem maida maida shor bete sheto kez

  • well done fantastic dance

  • Wow after reading all the comments. It is very sad!!! Art is Art!!!! Enjoy its beauty!!! Dr. Lloyd Miller I am an educated Muslim Afghan, just want to say you are all doing great work! Please dont take it to heart the ignorance of some idividual afg. Man breaks my heart to see the hate of afg...cuz that is why our country is in the state that its in. Keep it postive people!!!!

  • if she had her hair tied half way would have helped in her preformance. Overall nice job. I am afghan and i think she did good!

  • More ironic is that anyone cares about hassling us for using the names on the map or commonly used. For centuries, Afghan means people living to the East of Persia. Logari dance IS from Logar valley and Herati dance IS from Herat. And we don't need to rename Herat by its former title Arya or Logar as somethig from pre-Achaemenian times. We just call things what there are according to everyone else. And the Pashtn-Tajik-Persian or any other race war is not wlecome on this site. Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • What is ironic is that neither Logari or Herati dances are actually Afghan.

Afghan is a term that culturally applies to Pashtun people and they do not have such dances or music and they are not of Logar or of Herat.

Afghan is a actually a misnomer for that whole land mistakingly called Afghanistan, since it is not Afghan except in the very backward and tribal parts of the south and east.

  • @Ghurshah

It is just the way it is, son. Whether u like it or not, it is now Afghanistan.

What do u say about the name of Iran and Pakistan. And remember this is part of Afghan culture and it is here to stay untill there is one Afghan alive. chau.

  • @Ghurshah

Whatever Afghan used to refer to it now refers to people of the nation of Afghanistan. Canada used to refer to a native river but now a whole nation and its people are refered to by this word. All countries and cities have had different names in the past. It's important to know the history but at the same time that doesnt change the past and what afghan means today so i dont see what the relevance of your comment is. These are now Afghan dances and Afghan cities by the new meaning

  • @Ghurshah You need to take your iggnorance somewhere else, people like you are the reason afghanistan is in the situation it is now, what makes afghanistan so unique and beautiful is its mixture of various ethnic groups which are mostly Turkish and Persian, but in the end has resulted in a wonderful culture and a diversity of cuisine and music. Your obviously not afghan, and are just here to incite hatred because any Afghan would know that Logar is a predominantly Pashtun province.

  • @Ghurshah

sorry to break the news but Logar is in the south and majority Pashtun...get your facts straight before you talk....the kind of music found in Logar can be found nowhere else.

  • We appreciate your comments whatever your beliefs. But from now, we will only allow comments that are not obscene, insulting or abusive. We will remove any remarks against political persons, entities or whatever or whoever they are whether right of wrong, good or bad. We will also remove remarks praising those responsible for cultural genocide through eradication of traditional arts traditions even if those those persons are widely popular so-called artists. Thank you, Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • @easternartskstjohn is there a song in the fisrt music? wht's it called? :D

  • @shahid4ever12 The music is a combination of various typical Logari themes. The dancer is not native Afghan but was trained by various Afghan experts from different cities. Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • @worldartsdocmiller Okay thank you. Just wanna be sure because the first is very nice music, so thought that maybe it was from a song :D

  • for a non-afghan this lady is actually very very good. just a humble and constructive note to the dancer (if you see these comments), your facial expressions kind of kill it. You will rarely see afghan girls (at least the ones who are very familiar with persian-afghan culture making proud or emotive facial expressions or making eye contact with audience members when doing these dances. it would be considered arrogant and improper. the true beauty of the dance lies in the girl's humility.

  • hey i did a logari, something like this on my rabab. feel free to check it out :D on Tower077 and my account.

    Nice video.

  • omg soo sooosoooooooo

    niceee dcaningg ilove it

  • Friends, it is important to realize that we in the West are releasing deadly poisons on the world so, like the Surgeon General's warning against tobacco, we artists must warn everyone against the poison Satanic 'music' and dance that big multinational corporations use to destroy all cultures, even ours. People are only backward if they don't see this worldwide conspiracy against us all. In this regard we are all helpless children with no ability to discern good from evil or to oppose the Dajal.

  • Salam. Ha sa'ib, ziad khub nest ka dukhtaran-e Afghani khodeshan jelo-ya mardom raqs konand. Mugur raqs-a asil-a sahi digar chiz ast. Muhem as ka tamadon wa kultur-a Afghanistan bemanad zira dar in ruzha hame chiz az bein mirawad. Hamla-ya elektroni wa qarbi dunya ra chatal w kharab mikona. It is important to keep artistic traditions of ancient cultures alive in the face of the western and electronic invasion in recent years. So as non-Afghans we try our best to help out. Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • Salam,

thank you for your kind remarks. We spend 24/7, sometimes up til 3 in the morning, working on trying to save the last tiny vestiges of dying traditional Eastern dance and music which is being destroyed by electronics and the sex craze. We appreciate your support; it will take a really big change in the world's situation and atitude to save these arts treasures. Dr. Lloyd Miller

  • very nice.. keep it up girl..

  • I love Afghanistan...You did a mouth dropping work in showing the US the beauty of Afghanistan. Absolutely Beautiful
