To the Canadian combat engineers there is a fairly famous Canadian picture that was taken during WWII. It was when soldiers were marching down a street before departing overseas and it shows a young boy reaching out to say goodbye to his dad and his dad was reaching back to him. Well those guys were combat engineers my grandfathers brother was one of them. I will drop off a copy of the OUR CANADA magizine to the regiment in cfb edmonton on tues and they can hang it proud if they choose.

Who would invade Canada? We are the 2nd largest country, we have a crap load of resources along with artic claims (That Russia wants really badly), along with that is a large percent of the worlds water supply. With water depleting, countries will demand water.
Uh... Canadian Forces are professionals, best trained Infantry in the world. However we got a cheap ass government, and they cannot get the best equipment so if a country would get invaded, it would be one with a average military size.
Not to insult the CF or anything, but how can you honestly call the Canadian infantry the best in the world when they have not be deployed enough to be called so? Their combat record in Afghanistan is impressive, but not nearly as perfect as that of the Germans, Americans, or British.
You would call somebody the best in the world based on there deployment numbers? How many times you have been deployed in war has nothing to do with being the most professional, best trained or having the best accurate soldiers in the world.
That is based on actions in the wars you have been in and training. Our war history speaks for itself. In WW1, we were the most feared by the germans. We spearheaded the Allies in WW1.
During WWI, you forget that the Canadian military was only used to spearhead because of their EXPERIENCE on the field against the Native Americans and French during the early-mid 1800's. They were renowned for their brutality and effectiveness.
In the modern world however, the CF is deployed more around the world during peace keeping missions and national incursions simply because the Canadian government is raped by the U.N.
Training can't make up what real battlefield experience teaches.

Canada was rated for having the best training, and has some of the best marksman in the world. Our combat effectiveness has always been superb. We also supply them with electrical power, water supply to some states. Good lumber, the list goes on for miles ranging from natural resources to NASA contributions. What you fail to realize is that what we contribute to the United States plays a role in it's economy, just as the united states plays a role in canadas.

Every war Canada goes into, we always have the major disadvantage of lack of tech, numbers and fire-power. Yet with all those dis-advantages we always get the job done, and we get it done correctly.
The CF is not the best military in the world, but they are the best soldiers and best trained. Points taken off for lack of numbers, tech and fire-power. However in Canadian history, that has never stopped us from completing our goals.

John McRae wrote In Flanders Fields while he was in the trenches at a medical field hospital. almost every country has a military of some sort, its to protect itself. canada has a multi-purpose military, defense,peacekeeping,rebuilding, etc..
