A GREAT example of how: 1) Locked doors are not necessarily enough--and aren't a good excuse for anti-gun people saying that people don't need to have guns in their home, 2) How the ELDERLY are especially well-served by gun ownership and carry, 3) How EFFECTIVE guns are. Here's an ancient lady, who probably never COULD hit what she was shooting at, and who in fact missed--yet it was enough to chase off the guy and save her from him.

So many incidents go unreported. My sister was home alone at 15 when she heard someone sneaking up the stairs. She got a rifle and waited until she could see the knob start to turn before she charged the chamber. The nice little "CLICK CLACK" of the bolt shucking a round into the chamber made the bastard run so fast he fell down the stairs.

What a good ol woman. She did an outstanding job. What would have happened in this situation if guns were no longer legal and she was forced to give up her gun? 89 year old lady vs young strong man on drugs. Not a pretty picture.
