@Tonerows Every song is created with emotion behind it. Therefore every song has some kind of emotional connection to the audience, it is up to each member of the audience to decide what emotion they feel but there is an emotional connection to the music. I did infact listen to a Gentle Giant song and it did give rise to emotions in me. If there was no emotional connection to the music I wouldn't be willing to hear them out and possibly learn from them.

@Tonerows I do agree with your point that there is much more to music than just how it makes you feel, but that part of the music should never be overcome by the technical aspect. If you are truly a musician then you should know that music without emotion put into it is useless. Sure someone might listen to a song and pick out something that they feel they can use to improve themself but what drives them to do so is the emotional conection that they feel with the sound or technique.
