I grew up listening to this stuff, my old man used play it all the time, he was an abusive alcoholic, My mum finally walked out on him and he ended up living the last 30 years of his life lonely and isolated. when he died the house he built for us was run down, some of the windows had boards replacing the broken glass. Its like he had become the guy in the song, Me and my brothers used to visit him when we were in town, he was a good man but the alcohol destroyed him.

there is a vet hospital in san antonia texas named after audie murphy . mr murphy was a head of his time. a great person the best of the best in the world.

Indeed it was, Mostliketa. Audie Murphy ( the most decorated solder for bravery in the history of America ) also wrote a Roy Clark hit called " When the Wind Blows I Get Lonely ". Wish someone would put that one on Utube.
