It's based in modern times, the Chinese are invading, not Russia. It's in Detroit and Pontiac, a different place than the original movie's, and different characters.

Sorry. I'm just fed up w/ all these fucking 'remakes' and 'revisions'. Doesn't the Writer's Guild have any talent or creativity anymore? I've seen quite a few remakes, some of which I enjoyed almost as much as the original. But there are certain films that have/had no business being fucked with--especially ones that are within cult status. This is one of them.

In fact, the entire Vietcong were almost completely eradicated. All major battles were won by the U.S. however, politically, the war was deteriorating for us. @DanielDragonBlade MGM declared bankruptcy last year and had to shelve movies already in the can or postpone the starting of other movies like The Hobbit and Bond 23, With a recent restructuring and a 500 million dollar line of credit from JP Morgan MGM is already back in business and likely to greenlight Hobbit and Bond anytime. Red Dawn is actually set for a March 25 release. Look for the trailer to be up in the next month.

I'm planning to see it myself, when ever it does come out. But, I have to admit, the idea of being invaded by China doesn't quite pass the sniff test. I mean, they're a powerful country but, I just don't see how they could get that many troops over here, supply them AND expect to do more than cause havoc. At least with the Soviets, there was a real possibility that they could've tried something like that.

This movie is going to suck balls. I don't even know why they even thought about remaking this film. Why bother? The original Red Dawn was made during the Cold War, so there was definitely a market for this type of film. I love the original for what it was--total anti-communist propaganda. Lol.

Sorry. I'm just fed up w/ all these fucking 'remakes' and 'revisions'. Doesn't the Writer's Guild have any talent or creativity anymore? I've seen quite a few remakes, some of which I enjoyed almost as much as the original. But there are certain films that have/had no business being fucked with--especially ones that are within cult status. This is one of them.
You'll understand what I'm talking about when you get older and they start doing it to your favorite stuff.

In fact, the entire Vietcong were almost completely eradicated. All major battles were won by the U.S. however, politically, the war was deteriorating for us. The U.S. also wasn't allowed to push further than a certain latitude within the country. And China has grown a lot in the past 25-30 years? It's about damn time, China has been around for 1000s of years.

@DanielDragonBlade MGM declared bankruptcy last year and had to shelve movies already in the can or postpone the starting of other movies like The Hobbit and Bond 23, With a recent restructuring and a 500 million dollar line of credit from JP Morgan MGM is already back in business and likely to greenlight Hobbit and Bond anytime. Red Dawn is actually set for a March 25 release. Look for the trailer to be up in the next month.

I'm planning to see it myself, when ever it does come out. But, I have to admit, the idea of being invaded by China doesn't quite pass the sniff test. I mean, they're a powerful country but, I just don't see how they could get that many troops over here, supply them AND expect to do more than cause havoc. At least with the Soviets, there was a real possibility that they could've tried something like that.
