I play pachinco eveyday and nobody is a true professional. The professional players will always sit and wait then walk the parlor to look for primed machinces. In pachinco the only money you will win is the money other people have lost. People have commented on how parlors will try and screw foriegners. This happens all the time at off brand parlors, Rule #1 only play at brand name parlors i.e. Maruhan or 21 Sieki. These parlors I have had no issues with.
@Glenjimen on a technicallity level, gambling is illegal in Japan..or Tokyo at least. So this basically a way around the law. Which is weird because even the most conservative of politicians (the LDP) admit to playing pachinko.
