Thank you soooo much for uploading this!! Earlier this evening, I became nostalgic and looked up one of the SoM songs on YouTube. Brigitta had always been my favourite and watching it as a 23 year old (after not having seen it for about 15 years) made me fall in love with the movie and the characters all over again. I never knew about MRfD. Angela is sooo cute, I hope I have a daughter like her one day. Thanks again, you're a gem.
Rusty Hamer was one of the best child actors who ever lived. His life may have had a tragic ending (suicide) but at least his life as an actor on Make Room For Daddy was a good one. Danny Thomas, as I've heard, was his surrogate father in real life.
It must be from the 1961-62 season. That's the latest season shown in reruns. Angela Cartwright has stopped looking like a little girl and more like a preteen. She'd have been 10 years old by that time.
Appreciate the recommendation, Shelly. I'll try to check out that classic flick at the earliest opportunity. I've heard of it, of course, but just have never seen it.
Angela Cartwright (the little girl in this clip) went on to be a regular on the cult sci-fi TV classic "Lost in Space". I wonder if she was ever spanked or threatened with a spanking on that show.
No. there were never any spankings on "Lost In Space". Sometimes the kids would get yelled at, but that was it. Incidentally, in some episodes(of Lost in Space), you can hear Angela soft subdued English accent(yes, Angela Cartwright is British!), leak out. Funny thing since the show was about an AMERICAN family in space.
She never could completely hide it. But hey, anything is possible on TV.
THANKS for that fascinatin background info! Endlessly intriugin! I NEVER knew those Cartwright gals were British! Fancy that! You've MADE my day & my week!
You're are much more than welcome! Yes the Cartwright sisters were indeed from England. Not sure which part, though, but I think it's Cheshire. I guess that's where the accents are very soft and subtle as opposed to the heavy duty Cockney accents from elsewhere in the UK especially Wales.
If you were to watch Lost in Space, you would hear her accent in some episodes,

I haven't seen "Lost in Space," but I think she was given a single swat with a book by her father in the "Sound of Music."

OMG!It was HER?!I know one of the girls got a (VERY light) swat with a book by her father.

....for READING that book--What's wrong with reading?
Juliaflo 2 years ago
@shelly1874 ...At that time, the Captain in The Sound of Music was being somewhat of an asshole for keeping his child from reading.
Juliaflo 4 months ago
@JubalCalif I'd pay money to see that.

If you were to watch Lost in Space, you would hear her accent in some episodes,
especially the ones that focus on Penny.
