I am so sorry :( I wish that too... I just turned 13 and I have Lymphoma cancer. Just got done with the 3rd round of chemo. I am completely bald, I wish I could go outside w/out having to wear a hat or a wig w/out people judging me :( But what can I say? People are mean and will always judge one another.. It's ok I'm 13 and a few years ago I would pull out my eyelashes although I never ate them it was hard to stop really hard I had almost no eyelashes wen I relized I had to do something about it me al by my self stoped and even now I still feel the urge to pull but I kno I never what to never ever ever go back to that type of life style where I needed to pull to keep me from having axianty or stress but now I'm healthy and strong about not pulling trust me living with trich is a VERY hard thing

I have this disorder. Its an OCD disorder called trichotillomania. Most 'trich's' eat the entire strand of hair, but I do that same thing she does. In addition to that I also pull out eyelasses and eat them. Yeah I know its hella gross. wtf is wrong with me. All that. its a mental illness, and Ive undergone treatment for it. While its still there its MUCH better. I used to have giant bald spots on my head, they've all grown back in. And I rarely do it anymore. Only if I get suuuper anxious.

This is a form of OCD. I have dermatillomania which is picking at your skin, and a tiny bit of trichotillomania. Trich is mostly caused by stress or anxiety, although some people start pulling out their hair because certain strands feel different than others and they don't like that. Honestly though, compared to smoking or doing drugs, trich isn't that bad. I have it myself (although I'm nowhere near as bad as this poor girl) and I've had it for the last 8 years. I wear a hat whenever I go out in public and I keep my hair up when I'm at home so that I'm not tempted to pull. It's a hard habit to break, too.

I went through a period in my childhood where I pulled all of my eyelashes out, and I distinctly remember doing it during stressful times (for me, when I was in a large group of children). Never wanted to eat them, though.
