Carrying on my point, most of the ship battles you've seen in Star Trek are less like Star Wars and a bit more like sail ship combat. Strafe, cannons, strafe, fight the wind and the waves as well as your enemy. As Voyager and DS9 went on you seen the fights grow out of this and get a lot more complicated and a lot faster, which will probably happen here too. I'm just hoping there's a fair bit of 3D movement allowed and that overall you get a good feeling of speed in this game.

Actually Star Trek has always tradtionally been a bit slower paced than other examples of the same genre, especially in terms of combat and fighting. A lot of the time line in ST universe was during peace time, especially in Generation where you saw Picard et all generally just trying to uphold the peace and be nice everywhere and avoid war. DS9 went and took it to a full blown Galaxy wide war much later, and even then a lot of ship to ship battles are like old navy battles.

im so excited for TOR im unsure where to pre order it though either through atari and get the digital delux edition or the special gamestop one. the dde has a lot of cool ingame stuff like the OS uniform options but the gamestop one has a lot of nice real life items as well as a couple cool in game items + TNG uniforms and a constitution class starship. but the dde has the "Kahn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" emote which is a big seller for me. so idk which i would rather have.

Does an Xbox version also mean that my friends with that console would have to pay an additional 15 bucks a month for a subscription to xbox live, and only be able to play with eachother like modern warfare 2?

I can understand a PS3 version though, at least PS3 has usb ports, so you could plug a mouse and keyboard in and fly with the control. Not to mention the graphics power of PS3. 4 teraflops, thats more than most of you have in your desktops; dont cry, I know your hurt by that.

I think it would be a sub based game for console as well. The MW2 runs mainly on your machine except when you are online in instanced maps. ST:O like most MMO's will exist mainly on their end, They updates will be free, as opposed to MW methos of paying for maps.

PS2 has an MMO called EQOA, runs the same, sub based and online exclusively.

Were you are expected to get a party to go quest. You say FUCK IT and get it off your xbox and try to return it to gamestop and they give you like 3 bucks because the cover art is good or some thing. MMO's came out on computer for a reason. They work there. a computer from 2000 can play wow. Can the ps1 play wow no. So you must drop your hopes of a good MMO for the xbox ps3 and the gods cthulu him self forbid the fucking Wii. Get a computer like the rest of humanity and learn the power of /b/.

Im Sorry I should have said Not capable of "running well", when was the last time you saw a controller pad with enough buttons to effectively play an mmo. Besides the fact that CO looks utterly ridiculous . It may have multiplayer, but it will not be up to the Standards of games like WOW. Additionaly Xbox live dosn't handle large gamer populations well, big 32 player matches could be ruined by one guy with a bad connection.

Note-Star Trek online is NOT coming out on consoles, MMo's are not capable of running on XBOX live or the PSN sorry dudes but you need to get a PC to play this. Think of it this way, do you really belive that World of Warcraft could run on consoles, no it couldnt, deal with it.
