Keith, actually the founding fathers were trying to eradicate slavery, and things like the 3/5 rule and taxing "importation" of slaves were ways of discouraging it and keeping it from growing until they could actually implement policies on it. Now granted, slavery as it was here was such an atrocity that maybe they should have been more aggressive with their initial efforts, maybe even to the point of violence... wonder if that's what we pro-lifers ought to be doing now about abortion clinics?
