Well, I'll say you are wrong, or at least not factoring in everything. China, which has the largest population, by far, has a 1 child policy. That means their populations is declining. Here in the states, last I saw, we were around 2 kids per couple, which is just enough to replenish the population. Couples just do not want as many kids. Plus, there is a reason our parents were called the baby boom generation, and they will all be dying soon.

In fact, French tourists are choosing other countries than the USA, such as Cuba. I've noticed this recently, I deal with the French pretty much daily here, and they used to love to go to the USA at least once and spend money and see stuff. The new high tourist visa fees, biometric passports and airport security are making them discouraged, which is too bad. The French are very stingy but pay the price and don't haggle when they buy. This is what I have found, anyway.
