I'm sorry, but I see so many similarities between hip hop's rise and fall and the rise and fall of hard rock and metal in the 1980's. Metal got really big in the 80's because of edgy new artists like Metallica, Van Halen, KISS, Ozzy, and Guns N' Roses. Unfortunately, though, by the start of the 90's those bands had been replaced by Nelson, Warrant, and Skid Row. Incidentally, I see that the Lauryn Hill's and Outkast's in hip hop have been replaced with Nicki Minaj and Big Sean. Not looking good.
