Because the Hedgehog Engine (impressive graphics with low processing power) wasn't currently ported to the Wii.

Probably the the reasons of the two type level designs.

I think sonic unleashed is a newer version of the older sonic games. Just with the twist of Side Scrolling and Third Person gameplay. I prefer the games tht were based like Sonic Jam.Tht Game was fun!

I think its funny how people say he's suppose to be that fast because its like original games. In the original games he was speedy but not super fast. He was fast in spurts, but there was alot of enemies you had to kill, you had to jump, there were areas in the games where strategy was involved to continue. But from the looks of it, this is just speeding through levels with no real objective, and pushover enemies that you can simply just blow away without them even attempting to attack.

I've got my arms crossed on this one. Don't get me wrong: I WANT to see the series succeed. But I suspect SEGA is repeating past mistakes yet again. Dear SEGA...

1. Will you maximize gameplay and minimize load times?

2. Will you give us Sonic or yet another "Sonic RPG?"

3. Will you put speed first or melodrama?

4. Will you listen to your FANS?

1. Wii is the best for it then, its predecessor the Gamecube is even better suited.

2. Most people can play a Sonic 'RPG', most people can't play an 'ordinary' Sonic game.

3. I prefer if they put enjoyment first overall than speed and melodrama.

@sehwut if it was sonic adventure 3, it wuld b called sonic adventure 3, and besides, if any sonic game was supposed to be representing sonic adventure 3, it wuld have been sonic 2006 because it follows the sonic adventure format, different characters with different stories that all lead into one final story

This game's way too fast... I mean, if sonic speed runs through stages fast like that, then who'd need enemies? You could barely notice their presence, let alone enjoy the work they put into the sceneries. It's really dumb

that's what sonic games are really about. they are supposed to be fast because he runs at the speed of light. They put the enemies so it can be challenging. That is how every sonic game is and should be. If there were no enemies there would be no sense in a sonic game like that. In fact, I think the game should be faster. Fast is good. This game would be better faster than slower. It would be boring if it was slow and nobody would buy it.

Going by your logic, we can say that even Twilight Princess is a rip-off. In fact, nearly every game can be considered a rip-off of something else. And you seem to be missing slysilver2k7's point. He said the game ITSELF looks like it was done in 2 minutes. Not that the game is a rip-off. I myself am not a fan of Sonic, but I hate it when people rip on games/books/etc. just because they see a similarity or two. If it was a complete carbon copy of a game, it would be a different matter.
