  • Hi Nina!! I just wanted to know if you knew the professor of flute at UT Austin.

  • Hi Nina - Great video, just wondering do you think that orthodontic plates at the top of the mouth would hinder fast articulation?

  • sunshinemoose: since I have not had plates and am not sure about how they fit, I can't really say, but if they are far enough back from the upper teeth then I would hope they shouldn't interfere too much. Good LUCK!

  • @ninaflute....hey...i am a great fan of your lessons.......how exactly does a vibrato and tremolo differ on flute...like how do u articulate while doing this?.....and next question is what r the mouth techniques we can do on flute...like for example...we do double tonguing ...vibrato etc.,.............finally.........please suggest me some very good pieces and solos....i am really desperate......

  • um nina....quick question but wat is flutter tonguing and how do u do it?

  • Comment removed

  • I believe for flutter tongue, that is were you are playing and rolling your tongue like with r RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR you got to blow extra. I hope that is correct and makes sense xD

  • yup thats correct when fluttering u just roll ur tongue

  • nice nina you're amazeing at the playing that flute...RESPRECT!!!

  • muy buena la clase de flauta, estoy muy conenta aprendiendo ,a pesar de que no tengo mucho tiempo.

    eloisa ebrat.

  • This is how I double tongue on clarinet.

  • It's kinda confusing me this double tonguing!

Your video are really helpful tough...

  • Thanks, that really cleared things up, I thought my tongue just wouldn't cooperate with jusr TK

  • Belo Trabalho! Saudações do Brasil!

  • Well not only does mixing it up make double tounging flow more naturally but it sounds less boring in my opinion.

  • I find it easier to repeat the same over and over because I can consentrate....

  • it's the same concept as repeating a word over and over again. In your mind, it eventually loses meaning and actually becomes harder to pronounce.

  • ahhhh its still very hard for me this vid. sorta narrowed down for me but i still can't get double touging right

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! you saved my double tonguing.

  • Hi Nina - your videos are really helpful! Just wondering, would using this technique with articultion be a good idea for the end part of cesar francks sonata in a major movement two? thanks

  • THANK YOU! I have watched countless videos and this one has helped me the most. I play the trumpet and I am playing Concert Etude. So this has helped me SOOOOOo much

  • i understand what you mean about changing it, it can also tire your tongue out and stuff to keep it tu ku all the time or whatever, but i find it easier to keep it the same... i dunno haha. but i guess everyone finds the best way for themselves. when i try to change a lot i just get confused and also at the moment if i change it affects the sound.

ill keep that advice in mind though, its qute clever and as i improve at double tonguing it may change for me.

    thankyou!!

    xx

  • Thank you, Nina. All your videos have been really helpful. Keep them coming.

  • Great Help.

I have a question though, when you triple tongue, do you alternate the pattern, as in

    Tu-ku-tu Ku-tu-ku Tu-ku-tu Ku-tu-ku. etc...

    ? just wondering.

  • I will soon be uploading my discussion of these patterns on my triple tongue video. Stay tuned.

  • thanks

  • You should become a beat-boxer.

  • whoa! that sounds aMAZING

  • Excellent post.

  • cool! Thanks! dagadigadagadugudagadigiduuuuu!

  • Very interesting! I had found that I had migrated away from the hard T K sound to the softer D G, but this makes a great deal of sense to mix the forms. Thanks for this perspective! -Dennis

  • Thanks!!

  • Thanks. This video helps alot. I used to just use the tuh kuh articulation itself. I never varied it like you did with the vowel and consonant sounds. Looks like I'm going to have to try something new.
