I put Ubuntu on there after 6-7 months because my Vista slowed down alot.

For all the haters out there, i have had this laptop since christmas 09 and i have had NO problems with it, mine is the black vista version with 3 cell, i get about 3.0 - 3.5 hours battery life *and i didnt charge it all the way when i first got it* i use this whenever i can, i take it to school with me, i take it out with me when i go out with my mates so i can upload pictures onto it so we can take more pictures.

im thinking about buying the 6 cell battery... but do i really need it?

I have one of these and it is terrible. It looks great but it only has an Intel GMA 500 video card. I would avoid this and get something like the Dell Mini 10v or ASUS EeePc.

@djfrogfm At what point did I mention gaming? This netbook struggles with you tube, windows media player and any websites that have more than just text. So yeah, thats what I am trying to do on this netbook and it fails when compared to other's.

after regular using for bout 6 months sinced July 2009... it's completely dead while yesterday was fine now i'm losing my flles... ACER SUCKS !!!

That's a nice netbook! I didn't buy it partly because of it's relatively slow CPU speed (1.33GHz vs 1.66GHz in Acer AOD250) and buggy GMA500 drivers back then.

i have the same thing, but with a 3 cell battery. size wise, it's perfect. big enough for a full size keyboard, yet small enough to just throw in my backpack for school, and even my small riding backpack for my dirt bike to save my helmet cam videos. video wise, out of the box it's horrible. however, install the update from intel (the computer will say it already has a newer update installed, install it anyway) and update flash and it plays 720p perfectly, and HQ youtube.

el equipo no se actualizará por sí solo, tienes que ir al sitio web de Intel y dwnload el controlador actualizado usted mismo. Intel mal estado en el nombre del conductor, por lo que el equipo se piensa que es más antigua que la que tiene instalada. cuando intenta instalar Windows y le dice que es más, decide instalar de todas formas.

Después de eso, "poder utilizar CyberLink DVD", un programa que venía con el ordenador, para reproducir tus videos. usted debe ser capaz de jugar en pantalla completa, incluso cuando están en alta definición. para jugar los vídeos de YouTube más sencillo, descargar la última versión de Flash Player, o incluso la versión beta.

PROS:awesome screen,decent battery life, very thin,nice web cam with mic.

CONS: it gets "VERY" hot! like my microsoft stickers on the bottom even erased from the heat, remember this thing do sent have a fan!,it brings alot of crapware so you are gonna spend at least a day uninstalling the crapware.

overall its a decent computer perfect for the student thats looking for more than just a crappy netbook with crappy specs

I got one (with xp).

Pros: nice screen, long battery life.

cons: filled with crapware that you gotta uninstall. SLOW. Too slow to play a regular youtube video properly. Keys are too flat, so you can't feel where your fingers are at, which makes it hard to type without looking at the keyboard.

That's the whole point of a netbook isn't it. If you get a machine for $300-400 and expect the same performance as fully fledged Vaio, then you deserve to be disappointed. Personally, I have an HP tablet, a Vaio laptop and an Acer netbook. They're all made for different purpose computing and will have their unique ups and downs to them. Why can't you understand that.

Let me guess, you had Acer Aspire One 751 with Intel Atom Z250 (1.1ghz) and Vista (or maybe XP, idk.) So how can you possibly say that "typically Acer laptops have this prob." I have Acer Aspire AOD150 and it easily runs Google Chrome + iTunes (with 5000 song library) + Microsoft Word + Google Desktop (with 7 gadgets) + Bitdefender Total Security. I even had GTA San Andreas run on it on low settings.

Maybe it's just the AO751, the one you had. Did it have Vista or XP?

i had aspire acer on 751 (1.3 ghz) with windows Xp, many of acquintaces has the same problems with acer laptops and mini netbook..

It's fine for those tasks. Just make sure you get the Windows XP model and not Vista, as it's slow. Or upgrade to Windows 7.

i'm returning this acer aspire one 751 white back to the store... nice look nice screen but terribly slow and noisy...

after 5-6 days i don't recommend this for you..

for dutch version there's no netbook with vista, only xp and unfortunately i have to keep this netbook cause the store refuse the refound cause i already opened the pakcage :( it's noisy and get overheat the microsoft sticker at the back i did wear white trouser and the ink from that sticker was melting on it... i did cover the sticker now with the tape even the bar code is nearly to read ...

i'm not happy with this netbook after 4 days i could complain so much...

no bluetooth while the bluetooth sign on the sticker is misleading people think that it has but it's not, i can't connect my bluetooth microphone/headphone, second it really struggle to play this video on youtube and i could write the comment after when the buffering is completed, thirds they lie bout 8 hours battery life... it's only 5-6 hours... slow performance and this my first time using other product than VAIO...

i got the white one today i bought it 4 hours ago...

it got nice style and very light with better videocard than most of netbooks cause i was almost bought samsung n110 but i was not atracted by the screen and this aspire 751 has better screen and sound ... and i foun that 10' screen quit small and this 11.6' is oerfect for me....

for working or studying is fast but for HD video editing i use my regular VAIO notebook...

i installed microsoft office enterprise 2007 workd perfect, also regular video editing jut piece of cake... but if you need to run many programms in the same time you but need the same small size i'd suggest you take VAIO TT 11.6" but it cost more than $ 2500

but if you need for regular basic daily work this is netbook is perfect

720P HD video (MKV) plays back fine, though 1080P video struggles. I get worse performance on W7 than I did on XP.

No idea about Kmplayer. Not sure if that would make a difference..

its because of the atom pro. it not as fast and i have the 8.9 inch modle 720p run good 1080 struggles on netbboks
