I'm used to playing a ways away from the cage. This has it's advantages and disadvantages. In doing this, it is important as a goal keeper to ALWAYS know where the offense is. If you play out, you will almost always have a forward posting behind you. YOU RUN THE CIRCLE! Tell your defense where you need them and take charge! Good luck.
She comes waaaaaaaaaay too far out. In some scenes she's standing what would be on the line of the D, in one she is clearly outside. Both times with an attacking player on the post behind her.
You just can't do that. It's fantastic to see such an attacting keeping style, but there are limits. If this was on turf she would be slaughtered.
i ply 4 my yr @ skool and the yr above also my county teem n i dont wear elbo pads all the time but in county matches and most matsches i do coz my coach isn't even a goalie and she plys 4 england and sum1 chipped the ball @ her n she neerly broke her arm!!1! if u dnt wanna wear em thn dnt if it helps u*8
Everybody has to start somewhere. i was Backup keeper for the Aussie mens team for the past commenwealth games and in response to fldhkygoalie13, ive never worn elbow pads in my life whether its grass, turf or wet deck. some goalies dont like it. for all u non goalies out there, i dare u to stand between the posts wearing pads that dont protect u as much as u think and have a hard orange ball smacked at u at speeds exceeding 210kmph.
The only protection I have on my upper body is a chest protector (and helmet and neck guard of course) and I usually end up on the ground a few times during each game, whether it be turf or grass. I wouldn't want to wear elbow guards, shoulder pads or anything like that. I'm perfectly comfortable wearing just a chest protector, and not to mention, my jersey is sleeveless.

she is only playing on grass and the shots aren't exactly england standard. it looks quite hot aswell so i think she is fine without elbow pads
