  • I'm not an a'hole but it's pronounced 'good kind' not 'good kend' . The way you pronounced it I immediately had a mental scratch thus my writing here . Also some people pronounce the heroines name 'kay linn' instead of 'kah lann'.I'm pretty sure my way is correct.Anyway the sword of truth series is THE best set of books I've ever read in my life Bar None.Oh and yes there's a lot of pages but towards the end your thinking "dam , there's hardly any left".And the legend of the seeker was sh*tty.

  • The vampire diary books are way better and shorter then the show. they are just using the basic plot and main characters but very much scewing from the books drastically.

  • a song of ice and fire, is a series of books i would recommend,

and im hoping you havent seen the show: game of thrones yet, cause that might ruin how you see the characters, although the story is actually accurate :)

  • I'm thirteen:D

  • Heee :) I thought I'd let you know that I'm a big fan of the Vampire Diaries. But I do have to say that I understand you, I didn't think the first couple episodes where that great either. But now it's all so different and.. well, maybe you can give it another try, haha. :) xx

  • @spartan10010 well i for one just read the books because i find them to be a good read, im not really interested in politics, although the book does make some solid points about religion being pointless, and yes for anyone else who will most likely read this comment, im well aware that i may have just offended some religious people.

  • And Remember the only books we read are the GoodKind!

  • lol I found the first book Wizards first rule in my dads garage :3

I saw it and it led me to it

I read it then I loved it :D

then I went online to see if theres a sequal

then I see its a 12 book series...

    THEN I SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM

  • @monkeyXmonkey how old are your dad? 27?

  • @TheTimurbest

why would you think hes 27? o.o

and why do you wanna know lol?

  • terry goodkind announced hes making another book called omen machine and the plot follows rite after the book confessor so cross your fingers and hope its good!

  • @TheFraserOmega probably won't be, it's only 400 pages and I bet it'll be a rip off of another fantasy book series. But hey, it takes skill to write thousands of pages of other people's stuff and their views on things like politics and philosophies and attach them into a fantasy series.

  • I loved the whole series i am listening to the series on audiobook and of course its still amazing being my third walk through the series. my favorite book series. even though i liked the tv show they really went the wrong way with it.

  • Khalan Kaylan - Dont ever say Karlen. Its Khalan. Dont misdescribe her, cos she is a legend

  • @Kaldhore Actually, her name is spelt Kahlan. And yes, Kahlan is awesome.

  • @ConfessorAmanda Youre right and im sorry

  • @ConfessorAmanda Thx Aye I mispelled it lol

  • @Kaldhore No problem :)

  • best books ever simply amazing

  • love the books, all of them beginning to end, don't listen to people who rag on them make sure to finish the series if you haven't already

  • The english version is only 7-8 hundred pages long

  • i read the whole series as well as law of nines. I have to agree with the comments that state that the series slows down in the middle. I read the first four or five books in two weeks, then got stuck on one of them, put the series for hold for 6 months, then read through the remaining five books in a few weeks. I would recommend the series to everyone. It may be true (don't know) that there are better books out there, but a book is a personal preference, not a popularity contest.

  • @dorkyk89

could you tell what other kinda books you think would be better? :o

  • Don't let anyone discourage you from reading books you love. I see a lot of negative comments, and they really dont matter to you as an individual.

  • faith of the fallen is by far my favourite, its the best one to read, and maybe confessor although i wasn't completely satisfied with the ending.

  • I have read all the SOT series! Love them, it makes you look at life totally different!:-) good for you!!

  • Well, you made this video a while ago, but I'm commenting anyway XD

The Sword of Truth saga is by far, my favorite series of books. It drags on a bit, I don't like the final arc trilogy (Chainfire trilogy) very much, but it's still good. The 1st (Wizard's First Rule), 3rd (Blood of the Fold), and 6th (Faith of the Fallen). are my faves of the series.

If you haven't seen the TV series. Just don't. I've only seen the first couple of episodes, but only the proper nouns are really familiar.

  • @KageNoAku I guess your a big ayn rand fan,i only found the first 3 interesting.

  • @Whatever4690 I think you mean "Terry Goodkind" fan XD I tried to read Atlas Shrugged but got bored pretty quick ~_~

  • @Whatever4690 Faith of the fallen i despised and basically gave up on goodkind after that,i tolerated the evil chicken but faith of the fallen was a blatent strawman used to preach ayn rands philosophy(whom he was a massive fan),the whole converting the populace to capitialism with a statue just pissed me off,i dont like people pushing their politics on me,i heard it got even worse in later books.

  • @Whatever4690 So....having an entire populace converted to freedom by seeing the good in the individual pissed you off? I think you just got pissed (kinda like Nicci did) because your entire belief system has been challenged by Goodkind's writing.

  • @dart1285 No im saying the entire book was a strawman,im not a communist but the philosophy of ayn rand would make a dark world, and it doesnt even inspire people to great achivements it creates a corrupt world where only money matters and crap is mass produced at the cheapest price to make 1 person filthy rich,in ayn rands perfect world crime would be rampant and widespread.

  • @dart1285 Want another point of view of individualism.

Watch The Brain Center At Whipple's.

  • @Whatever4690 fair enough. youtube is a crappy medium for philosophical debate anyway. I was just in a pissy mood and decided to take it out on you by jumping your shit. My bad, man. On the other hand, I'd call TG's books, especially in the middle of the series, more of a soapbox than a straw man. Sure he preached. I got tired of it from time to time. But the Order in the story was far from being a straw man. it was the apex of the evils of communism.

  • @Whatever4690 and I'll definitely check out the Brain Center at Whipple's. I'd like to see that POV

  • @Whatever4690 you obviously didn't get the plot. Even if that the theme is about politics, it's only on analogical terms, not the true meaning of the book.

and also, i love these books, and I'm 14, lol. I also speak German, we have lots of common interests lol.

  • @spartan10010 Whoa, you're 14 and you're reading these books? These are very mature and gory books.

  • @ConfessorAmanda Yeah, and for some reasons, now I think this series is a pile of shit.

  • @spartan10010 Wtf?!!! Don't ever say that!! Hahaha. Why do you think that?

  • @ConfessorAmanda Eh, just some reasons. Let's just say I'm not interested in Terry Goodkind's political views, and now I agree with Whatever4690.

  • I would recommend this series, however, not for young children. It contains very harsh language on the subject of rape later in the series and refers to it constantly.

Maybe for younger children, they can read it with there parents!

  • Check George R. R. Martin saga's "a song of ice and fire" ,' first book is "A Game of Thrones") :)

I think you will like it (kind of "mature" fantasy, very unique in comparaison of the "regular" fantasy).

btw, a serie based on the books will be on tvs in few months!

  • Terry Goodkind is the lowest of the low when it comes to fantasy.

  • For your imformation, Vampire Diaries IS for 14 year olds and up, so it isn't like most adults would enjoy it. Plus, I don't think people should compare it to Twilight, they should be comparing Twilight with Vampire Diaries. Because Vampire Diaries was writing in 1996. If you didn't read the books, you wouldn't be as interested.

  • i love thease books!!!!! after i read the first i was hooked! there are 12 i'm on the 9th, i think there are more coming out

  • its only based on the book. just like the twilight movies.

it doesnt mean its 100% like the book

but i love them both (:

  • ...cause the show was dropped (the broadcaster went bankrupt, nothing to do with the show itself) and I have to admit, sometimes I do scream at the screen about things they screwed (and some things were REALLY screwed beyond repair), but I have to admit I love it anyway. Some of the changes I even like better & it's like having new stories every week. Also, the actors do an AMAZING job. Sorry for the long comment(s) :P I'll shut up now. Hope (if you weren't already) I got u more interested :)

  • ... with 10.000 generations and where you can't keep in mind the simplest name of the whole saga, that's what got me about these books. Despite being throughout and complex, they were basically easy to follow, with an original mythology and a quite interesting storyline. I don't like TG's excessive violence & some of his thoughts, but I suggest you keep reading, for the characters & the story, which, imho, are very very good. As for the series I love it to bits. We're now fighting to get s3...

  • I see this vid is quite old, so I don't know if you kept reading or started watching the series, but I thought I'd share my two cents :) I started watching the show before reading the books and fell in love with the characters of Kahlan & Richard... during the break between seasons I read all the books (I was on vacation & it took me a little under two months to read them all) & I loved them. I'm not the typical fantasy fan... most of the time I don't like complicated mythologies and kingdoms...

  • Sword of Turth series is excellent. definitely recommend. Legend of the seeker went to hell after 1 season

  • just finished blood of the fold

  • Does anyone who's watched the series know about the gratuitous torture, rape, and sadism that permeates Goodkind's books? I read a few of his books in high school and I had to quit after Book 3.

  • half way? can't wait til she hits the torture. but the show sucks. can't compare to hercules or xena. and seriously, legends of the seeker sucks azz. wizard's first rule is one of the best book series ever made. the pillars of creation (sixth book i think) isnt so good, but it doesnt go way off like in xanth, on the 6th or 7th book. and the series ends. by then you are so bonded to the characters and truth, after all the people, plots, magic, etc. its great. it just ends great.

  • @JarridPayne I just finished book 4. What other ones do you recommend?

  • @TheThirdShift

Wheel of Time, Song of Ice & Fire, Farseer Trilogy, Malazan Book of the Fallen

  • @TheThirdShift I don't know if you finished the SOT series yet, but if you have then I definetely recomend Terry Goodkinds latest novel, The Law Of Nines which is a thriller that is loosely connected to the SOT series. It may not be his best work, but I was thoroughly enthralled with it as it was a different change of pace from the SOT series. Now I am anxiously waiting for his latest Richard and Kahlan novel called the Omen Machine!

  • @TheThirdShift i've heard a lot of people talk about it and i have never heard jarrdid payne opinion definitely read it best book i've ever read and vampire diaries isnt cheesy in seasonon 2

  • @TheThirdShift Wheel of time I've read all of the Terry Goodkind books and hes a bad writer in general I know its a bit late.

  • @PirateyCorp What!!!???!! I LOVE TERRY GOODKIND'S SWORD OF TRUTH SERIES D:

  • @JarridPayne PHAH! "the vastly superior alternatives"? What, like "Marion Zimmer Bradley"? Or "David Eddings"? The fantasy genre is full of garbage. Terry Goodkind is one of the few gems.

  • @Namaechan WTF is Marion Zimmer Bradley? I was thinking more along the lines of Martin, Erikson, Rothfuss, Peake, Lynch, Sanderson, Hobb, Abercrombie, Jordan, Moorcock, Bakker, Donaldson, Gaiman.

Doubtful you've ever heard of any of them, dumbass weeboo.

  • @JarridPayne ... My library sucks >;(

  • @JarridPayne let me guess your religious? I only say that because most religious people don't like the books after soul of fire. Mr Goodkind paints a vivid picture of what religion leads to, in faith of the fallen.

  • @JarridPayne Haha. So true.

  • @JarridPayne 7-8 where a pain yes, but iv read quite abit of fantasy and even though SoT has some low points, at its best, its still awesome.

  • @JarridPayne you say they are bad books but you don't say why. I don't know you, so why should I take your word on faith?

  • @JarridPayne Sure there are times when the SOT seires drags a bit. Soul Of The Fire was the hardest Goodkind book I ever read. However, you get past that book, the series starts getting better and better. But to say that the series get's aweful and that those of us who have good taste make you silently weep makes me groan inwardly. In my opinion, Terry Goodkind has a way of getting you immersed in the world he creates. That speaks more to me than anything R.A Salvatorie has written.....

  • @JarridPayne I agree that TG went abit off by knocking Richard and Kahlan out for a book practically but the story is stil pretty good

  • @JarridPayne i read them, and I was pretty satisfied, of course there was time that I wanted to throw the books out, but in the end it was worth it, just dont judge a book by what you think of it, because it really depends on your mood when you read it and stuff :) whateva, now I started The Wheel Of Time and 250pages in it havent gotten as interesting as SOT ;). So what other would you suggest?

  • @JarridPayne i will argee in the sense that some of the books in the middel of the series e.g 5, 7 and 8 are all very long and boring, but i think that the series is very good, you mentiion the 6th (faith of the fallen) to awful but in my opinion thats the best one.

  • I am definately interested in picking up those books.... they sound really good to read. Also i live in the States and have watched The Legend of the Seeker on tv... Its really good! Thanks for sharing this info with me... i didnt know that TV show/series was from this series of books... Im really interested in it now.

  • I am one of the biggest readers that I know and there are not that many books that I like to read, but the the "Sword of Truth" series is a really great series. And I have to agree. The "Legend of the Seeker" show is very losely based on the book. No real aim in where he is going in the show, or atleast how they are going about their quest. But the show as it is is pretty good.

  • When can we buy the DVD's? I seen all episode on watchvampirediariesfree.comE <-- Delete the E

  • I'm really not into the Vampire Diaries, either, but I'm going to borrow The Sword of Truth Series from my bf this summer. I might also re-read the Sabriel series by Garth Nix. It's a bit YA, but still good fantasy writing. Also, Amelia Atwater-Rhodes has some good vampire novels (less romantic than most) if you're looking for something like that.

P.S. Your hair is adorable. Do you have a tutorial on it?

  • Comment removed

  • im in love with the vampire Diaris ;] it amazing yes it it a bit cheesy but you shold read the book the are way beeter then the Twiling saga

  • i didnt like vampire diaries either in the beginning ... but its getting better now ....

  • I love Legend of the seeker!

  • Sword Of Truth series rocks. Read them!

  • btw...vampire diaries became quite interesting by the later eppies...i'm still in epi 14 and i can't wait for the next.

  • A nice Vampire with a scientific twist would be the book by Scott Westerfeld, Peeps and the second installment of it, The Last Days...another futuristic book the same author, i recommend, a trilogy actually. Ugly, Pretties and Specials. I haven't read Extras and I'm dying to have my hands on Levithain. So basically SCOTT WESTERFELD is an awesome author!

  • I did read quite a bit of the Sword of Truth Series, I think I actually only missed the last few books. I was the only one in my school that had read them, actually. Fantastic series, just very long.

  • I read the Vampire Diaries series when I was a teen. So, I was excited when the show came out. It was dull the first few episodes (and it can get cheesy :P), but now I love it. Thankfully, it did get better!

I haven't been able to see True Blood, however. I was disappointed to see it was airing on a channel I didn't get. But,... oh well.

  • Mehr Büchertipps bitte!!! Echt cool!

  • the Terry Goodkind series is go0d, loved all of them!!!

  • omg the newest vampire diaries episode was soooooo good! haha i love that show! (: are you still watching it? lol

  • THE VAMPIRE DIARIES ROX!!!!!

  • Vampire diaries is sooooooo much bettter then twilight. LIke a billion times better.

I admit the first couple of episodes were dull..but its good now. And yes it is targeted towards teeens but its a thousand times better then twilight.

  • I love Vampire Diaries, but I've never seen True Blood so yeah

  • To anyone wanting to read good quality fantasy I'd strongly recommend Robin Hobb! I loved the Farseer Trilogy and am planning to expand into other work from her as well. :)

  • the books are soooo good, you will love then. let me know what you think. have you read catherine asaro "the skolien empire" i really like it.

  • I tried to upload a vid response to your vid but for some reason I wasn't able to get it up on here. If you're interested in seeing it and what I thought of your vid just click on my screenname and the vid response is titles just that "vid response."

  • I Love the Vampire Diaries i am reading the books. the tv show has not come out yet in the UK. Legend of the Seeker the TV sho is so good.

  • usually what i do (i live in the US) i go to my local book store & write down all the books i want. when i get home ill go on amazon & buy them there for like half the price.

current books im reading: nocturnes by john connolly- which i started to read awhile ago, its very dark

the hollow by jessica verday- its about this girl whos best friend just died & shes trying to figure out what happened to her, i really like it

i just finished: immortal by gillian shields i like it but it was too slow

  • from all the books ive read, all the books are better than the movie or series. it makes sence cause you cant fit everything in 2 hours. i love to read

  • If you really like classic fairytales you should try reading "Princess bride" by

William Goldman. If you like some modern fantasy you should read "the Naming" by Alison Croggon and "the Graceling" by Kristin Cashore.

For any further attempts at Vampire books your should know that vampire books are now directed towards teenage girls.

  • They actually have a show called "Legend of the Seeker" which by your discription of the story sounds like the show was based on this book, they even kept some of the characters names, you should see it sometime and see if they have a connection. Anyway I just thought you might be interested in knowing that! Love your channel and you really know your craft!

  • My husband read the entire Sword of Truth series and just finished his new book, The Law of Nines, which I got him for Christmas. :)

He doesn't watch Legend of the Seeker, it's only very loosely based on the books. Like you said, it was very different. And it's on WB in the US.

  • im twelve and i read this series and im on the 6th book and i sugjest it for anyone who wants adventure, action, a little mystery and romance. this books the best book ive read so far so i sugest you all read it!

  • i do watch Vampire Diaries, i do like it but i agree its pretty mediocre. i did read two of the books from the vampire diaries series they weren't too good though either. Believe it or not too they changed the book around alot into the show Elena was suppose to have a younger sister not a drug addicted brother.

  • I'm a Vampire diaries tv show addicted.

  • julia du bist total hübsch.könntest du bitte eine tutorial zu der frisur machen

  • I Love the Vampire Diaries!! Nina Dobrev is so pretty. Stefan is crushable, haha. :)) (is crushable even a word? well, it should be.)

  • Nvm saw that you said German. Lol Completely missed that xD

  • Hey what language is your copy in? I paused and tried to read it and the language seemed very interesting and familiar. But I'm also reading the series. Currently on the first book and it is epic already xD First time reading it even though I've been a fan of the show since day 1. xD

  • l luv the vampire diaries i think its a gr8t show but then im also a twilight fan so im into vampires right now twilight got me started w/ the whole vamp thing but anyways i think the vampire diaries is a good show me and my sister watch it im 18 and shes 12 so idk

  • totally not related, but I love love love your hair!! :-)

  • The show is good your right its different from the book but since I love it so much I dont care I am an addict I can not get enough. The show is good in its own way.

  • well it was based on a book series. the books are so much better, but i think the tv series is entertaining; but not true to the series.

  • I enjoy Vampire Diaries, though I know it is definitely more for teens like most of the shows on the channel it is on. But I really think the latest episodes were really good and I love the character of Damon. He has some great lines and I especially love him in the Lost Girls episode. Its worth watching if you have a chance to at least get a vampire fix between True Blood seasons.

  • i love vampire diaries!! i am 14 tho.. lol

maybe the demographic was for teens? idk but its good and stefan and damen are yummy!!

  • I am currently reading From Dead to Worse in the Sookie Stackhouse novels. I have a friend that mailed me a copy of Wizards First Rule back in July and I just put it away because I was slowly savoring the Charlaine Harris books. Then last week I found Faith of the Fallen at a flea market. Now I want to hurry up and finish the Sookie books so I can start the Terry Goodkind books. I just need to collect them all first because I hate finishing one then having to wait to crack open the next book.

  • The vampire diaries show is horrible. I love the book to it though. I want the show for laughs because it's pretty funny how much they are doing it wrong. . . but Yeah, it's basicly nothing like the book.

  • I love Terry Gookind's books. I'm rereading the whole series now =) You may like the Wheel of Time fantasy series by Robert Jordan too.

  • make tutorial on how to do your hair like this!!!

  • Here's some advice. Read the Goodkind books to number 6 or so and then STOP. You will be totally let down by how the author goes off the deep end.

  • Oh and also regarding Vampire Diaries. I agree that it's pretty stupid in the first few episodes but I stuck with it and I am very surprised to say how intriguing the episodes have become. And the character Damon is a freaking riot on the show. Also, I'm a huge fan of fantasy literature. If you want a consistently amazing series, you have to try Robin Hobb's assassin series. It is totally not what you expect and by the second book you'll be blown away.

  • Sounds like a great book. I read one of his books way back in Jr High I think called "Running with the Demon" it was really good and interesting because it was fantasy but not 100%.

  • i'm def trying out this book. sounds really interesting! i can recommend the book "auserwählt" from patricia schröder. its basically about a young girl that visits her mom at her yoga session but finds out really fast that its really just a sect who says that she is the chosen one. but she fell in love with this guy and is totally happy and kinda realizes that being happy isnt a bad thing.

you def should check this one out (:

  • I looooooove Wizard's First Rule! The Sword of Truth series is AMAZING. I just finished the last book a couple weeks ago. People who claim Edward Cullen is the perfect guy need to read about Richard Cypher. Now HE is the perfect guy <3

  • i like the vampire diaries.i think stephan and damon are so hot like Eric Northman. right now im reading a book series called Percy Jackson & The Olympians there is like 5 books right now im on the fourth. after this series im going to read the the vampire diaris

  • i LOVE Vampire Diaries, it is a little bit cheesy now that i think about it but i really like the show,, but i like True Blood better, i cant wait for it to come back on

  • I love Vampire Diaries show and the True Blood books. I tried watching the show True Blood but it's too graphic sexually so I just stick with the books. Legend of the Seeker is really nice too I bought the first book and am reading it.

  • Some writers i love with great fantasy books, are Brandon Sandorson, elantris (this is a stand alone) and the mistborn serie, its so good and original way of magic!

Juliet Marillier, very good books, with hints of fairy tails in them.

    Fiona McIntosch, the quickning books,

Robin Hobb, is great. As you can see i love fantasy, if you want more recomandations, let me hear.

My englisch is not all that good.

  • Yes, vampire diaries is pretty lame. lol. It definitely is more oriented towards the teenagers. I actually heard them describe it on the radio as a one tree hill with vampires. The one thing that I actually DO like about the show is how the vampire face and eyes change so dramatically when they are about to feed. I think of vampires being these dark creatures and its disappointing when the shows/movies don't portray that.

  • Wow, didn't know you had another channel, cool!

  • I totally agree about the Vampire Diaries. The first two series of True Blood was a lot better than I exoected it to be and now it seems like the other vampire shows like the Vampire Diaries can't compare ! Haven't heard about Terry Goodkind before but think I'm going to get the first one to read. Thanks !!!!

  • Hello there! Well I am a huge fan of True Blood and I have been watching the Vampire Diaries series and it does remind me of a cheesy version of Twilight but I just keep watching it anyway. LOL. Thanks for the book recommendation I have been looking for a new book to indulge in, gonna check it out!

Big Fan of your make up channel, keep it rockin from one make up artist to another!!

  • Hi TheThirdShift, keep reading the series it is something amazing...you'll find out that this series is NOT for children. Most of the last part of the first book (I can see that you didn't even passed the first half of it in your video) is just BDSM stuff. From the next book to the last one the seires is filled with sexuality and violance so this series is rated 18+. sorry about my crappy english...

  • Loved the whole Terry Goodkind series and do not like Vampire Diaries. Another author i would highly recommend would be Terry Brooks.

  • i love the vampire diaries..... u have to read the book to really get it its good

  • This is in a totally different direction but you should read the Millennium series (if you haven't already). I started reading them almost by accident and i completely fell in love with the books. If you are into mystery/thriller/drama novels Millenium is the way to go :)

  • Have you read Louise Cooper's Indigo books? They're amazing, great fantasy books. i totally recommend them :)

  • i am watching the vampire diaries i like

it but yea it is a bit cheesy but like u said its sumthing to watch for a vampire fix

  • I've been reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown & it's pretty good so far. I havent' watched vampire diaries as the previews really turned me off.

  • Oh and I truly recommend His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman! It's a quality fantasy story with lots of philosophic thoughts. And it's also very entertaining! I wouldn't recommend the movie though, it has nothing to do with the quality of the books!

  • I'm not liking the vampire diaries either it makes me miss True Blood even more hahahah the show I'm loving right now is GLEE that show it's so awesome

  • The Vampire Diaries, is really different, the book (in my opinion) is not as good as the show.

i like the show a lot more then the book, im currently reading it, and they are COMPLETELY different... haha

  • First off, I LOVE your nail colour! Second, I've been watching the Vampire Diaries and I absolutely love it! It's my new favourite show! I never really got into True Blood, I saw a few episodes but I never really got hooked. I figured, since I love Twilight, I'd probably love VD too. Well, I was right and I do have to add that Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) is INSANELY HOT!!! That's probably the main reason I watch it... to look at him. But yes, you're right. It is geared more for teens. =)

  • i looooove the vampire diaries. havent really watched true blood. doesnt really catch my interest. but hey im still a teenager what do i kno lol.

  • I hate Vampire Diaries. I watched it because there is nothing to watch in the moment. It's so horrible.

If you like romance fantasy I suggest Sherrilyn Kenyon. I gave one to my frien and she became an addict after. And Trudi Canavan also make a good book I read the black magician trilogy. and I really love them.

  • you *might* like Charles de Lint - Canadian author

  • I recommend Battle Royale by. Koushun Takami.. I don't know if you'd like it, but it's a beautiful novel.

  • vampire diaries is alright. definitely more for teens. lots of eye candy, though!! ;o)

  • can you please do a tutorial the makeup and the hair. i love the look and hair style in this video.

  • Hey! Uhhh...this has nothing to do with books or anything...I was just wondering about your hairstyle. I think it's amazing and was wondering if you could do it as a tutorial on your make up channel.

  • Hi Julia,

Don't know if you're into detective novels, but J.D. Robb has an amazing series that features a female detective in the future. The first one is Naked In Death, and the series is up to I think the 24th book now. Check it out if you're interested. I highly recommend them.

  • Gossip Girl meets Twilight is just the perfect description for The Vampire Diaries :) I think it's not really good.

I actually read one of the books and I think it's alot better than the TV Series.

  • Yeah, The Vampire Diaries are reminding me of Beverly Hills meets vampires....I think it's a really cheap TV show, made mostly for younger audience. I bet the books are better though, I'm planning to read them one day.

  • I love Vampire Diaries!

I think its more of a teen based show though, which is probably why i like it.

Its deffenetly better than Twilight! It can actually get kinda creepy :P

  • if you liked terry goodkind i would recommend the dragonlance books they are fab too

  • So, i really loke vampire stories, like twlight, true blood and vampire diaries but all the new stuff take a long time to get on the brazilian bookstores and TV, so i have to keep waithing ,

but i hope this series to come soon.

  • i love true blood because its really adult and so raw and dark.

but vampire diaries is not as adult but its not as teen as twilight. i love twilight dont get me wrong but im kinda over it. im liking these real dark vampires who bite ppl and glamour them :P

  • you literally judged a book by its cover, :P

  • The books of Vampire Diaries are much better i think you might like it. the tv show is carp

  • True Blood is Awesome!!!

  • Hey Julia,

  • If you haven't read the Golden Compass series by Phillip Pullman, you should definitely check it out. I love that series.

Vampire Diaries is dumb ... I have no desire to watch that show. I'm kind of getting into Dollhouse, though.

  • I suggest to you, Julia the Night Warriors series by British author Graham Masterton.

There are so far four books.

    "Night Warriors"

    "Death Dream" "Night Plague"

    "Night Wars"

I found them to be quite enjoyable.

  • hi julia,

  • I'm 20 and from the U.S. and I LOVE the Vampire Diaries!!

  • I think that we (in Australia) can watch this on the new channel called "GO". Vampire Diaries is kind of corny and cute at the same time. I like reading because it seems more serious and believable to me - rather than watching actors who can be embarrassing on screen. I'm loveing the Sookie Stackhouse book one :)

  • Wha?? I'm loving Vampire Diaries!! It's pretty close to the books, which are pre Twilight. I remember them from when I was a kid. I like the music, they have some good songs (Placebo, and the Gossip for example). I find shows and books like this totally addicting. It's like crack, no one does crack because it's good for you. Check out Kim Harrison's Hallows series, it's pretty good. The first one is calld Dead Witch Walking.

  • My husband loves Terry Goodkind; he's read the entire Sword of Truth book series..he's not too fond of the show. He says if you are enjoying Terry Goodkind, you may enjoy Terry Brooks, his book series is called The Sword of Shannara. :)

  • I love Vampire Diaries and Legend of the Seeker!
