hi bill gr8 work, tell me sumthing this sand and stone beding do the horse lay down on it with out geting sore, and wot is it like two clean, thank you troy
@troystar9inc Hey Troy, I mainly use it in the paddocks or run ins & travel routes. My horses all have free turnout & never get locked up. When horses are kept like this you'll find that they very rarely lie down & when they do, it's out in the pasture. I hear so many people tell me how their horses love their stall & will lie down all the time. Well, put my ass on the couch, feed me, bring me drink or whatever else you think I need & I'll lay down a lot too. Doesn't mean it's good for me.
Very fanastic you talk us through various feet .I am trimming both mine since two years back now .Many thanks for explaining the bulges on soles and the ridge .
Thanks for the Video's you can't believe how much you have helped me, I took on 3 horses( never had a horse before ) all bare foot but had had no hoof care for 8 months and stabled for one month in the winter, all of them had thrush, I still have some problems but am slowly getting on top of them. I live in Greece on an island and we don't have a farrier so when I found you video's my prays had been answered. Thanks again Bill
@HoofTech Thats great to know. It´s always difficult to let them go, but if you can check up on them once in a while it makes it so much easier. I have liveried horses that ´become mine´ and when they move on they always take a piece of me - I think I worry more than their real owners about their well being! Idiot - I´ll take the label ;-)
I really like your relaxed way of handling your horses, thats the way I try to be, thanks for the video of feet. I have moved my horses from Colorado to Arkansas and it is really wet here. I have had some challenges but am staying on top of the possible thrush issue. Thank you for your comments on that in relation to the frog!
Well a lot has to do with the type of ground you keep them on. Movement is another factor. If you keep picking them out & they never get better, chances are you have some type of infection going on. It needs to be killed off.
Thx! I enjoyed your videos. In this economy I'd like to start doing maint work in between visits from my trimmer. Found your videos very helpful!

Beautiful hooves - what a joy to see. Keep up the good work. I also know - like you I have healthy horses, and an unhealthy bank balance hehehe

In that case, THANK YOU! Your videos are a great help. Especially to a novice like myself.

So I take it you advocate bare foot?? I know I do.
Thanks for the great videos. You should be selling them on-line.!

@MsPettie1 Of coarse I'm an advocate of the barefooted horse.:)
Well, I haven't become a rich man by now, so I might as well give away what I've learned.

how do you get your horses frogs so nice? I clean my horses hooves about ones a day and they aren't half as good.

it's very wet.

It's very wet here too. Makes me sick. It takes lots of care to keep good frogs here.
Once you kill the bateria life will get better.
If you don't it will be there forever & you'll never have a good frog.
HoofTech 2 years ago
Well I do put stuff on the frogs to kill bacteria

Nice comparisons, and great horses! nice to see them without rugs, how a horse should be!
wish i could leave my TB unrugged, but he would shiver to death! Also wish he had hooves like that last one...they are perfect compared to mine.
