Good people who are religious, tend to do good things in the name of God and bad people who are religious tend to do bad things in the name of God. Religion seems to give both sides a form of justification to act the way they wanted to act in the first place. I won't say that religion never improves people, because It does. Sometimes religion can ruin a person though. Anyone can make a good citizen but people do tend to get along better when they're all on the same page.
I have a huge issue I would love people to help me with:
The data is clear that the less religion in a society = more healthy in terms of crime, healthcare, giving to charity, longevity, murder, STIs, teen pregnency etc..
but I cant figure out whether religion is causes the problems, or the problems cause more religion.
It is well known that poorer people tend to believe... but it may be that uneducated people tend to be poor, and tend to believe in god.

You seem to imply that since God does not exist, atheists do not have to state that as a fact and therefore it is not a belief set. Atheists are the ones telling us the planet is over populated and abortion helps keep population in check. If the world is so "overpopulated"- why not do something about it and commit suicide? Using this logic, the atheist would be "helping" society. One less person using up the earth's resources. I'm not encouraging ANYONE to take their life, I'm just exposing the hypocrisy of atheists. Atheists don't have to fear God, right? Why not go out in "style"? Why wait until you are dying of old age?

Good people who are religious, tend to do good things in the name of God and bad people who are religious tend to do bad things in the name of God. Religion seems to give both sides a form of justification to act the way they wanted to act in the first place. I won't say that religion never improves people, because It does. Sometimes religion can ruin a person though. Anyone can make a good citizen but people do tend to get along better when they're all on the same page.

I have a huge issue I would love people to help me with:
The data is clear that the less religion in a society = more healthy in terms of crime, healthcare, giving to charity, longevity, murder, STIs, teen pregnency etc..
but I cant figure out whether religion is causes the problems, or the problems cause more religion.
It is well known that poorer people tend to believe... but it may be that uneducated people tend to be poor, and tend to believe in god.
Id love to know the answer.
