  • repeated flex causes titanium to fail.

I have experience of that, and metallurgy and materials science to back it up,

but go ahead. I hope you are not injured.

  • Why aren't blades made out of Ti?

  • @KiloSierraAlpha Sir there are in fact I'm gona do a series on Warren Thomas knives to explain the benefits I think most people miss. Ti is used for diving knives. Plain aircraft (al4vTi) is not good for edge retention. Warren Thomas comes up with a way to fix this completely. Duane Dwyer had a part in the creation of NiTinol which is a super Titanium that can hold an edge that in my USN footage he says they may make production of these OMG (this is gona change the knife world if they do)

  • @NeptuneKnives Thanks!

  • Pry bar? No. Repeated flexing? No.

The flex is not good, because titanium parts repeatedly flexed FAIL. It doesn't fracture, it tears.

I would not have titanium anywhere if it breaks I would get injured.

    My experience? Titanium derailleur FAIL.

I like my Sea to Summit titanium spork.

My backpacking cookset includes Vargo Titanium 750 ml Sierra Cup.

I like the fact it will never rust, from the cooking fire or left out wet.

  • @backpackinonline hmmm interesting my knives lockbars are ti & theyre always being forced to flex... Why then do them make prybars out of TI? what you think?

  • Stop pins on Striders are made of stainless steel unless otherwise indicated.

  • @MiGAngeI yep I gota annotate this thanks

  • you have a better science brain that most of the other knife reviewers - good info - much appreciated.

  • As for the folding spork, when you push the little metal bar on the handle towards the tip, it keeps the handle from folding. It won't hold for heavy tasks though. But hey, it's a spork. ;-)

  • @aebbelwoy yes but doesn't work well for cooking & stirring bcuz your hand has to get closer to the spoon

  • show some more of that custom anso!!!

  • good info. keep em comin' man

  • Great information about Ti. I honestly thought it was a pretty strong material. Guess i was wrong! Thanks for the vid.

  • Just want to put this out here for you to read NeptuneKnives: There is a free editing software called Windows Movie Maker that most computers come with. That way the watermark may not be there. That or you could try Avid FreeDV. Those are two good video editing software for a great free price! :D

  • @SharpAirsoft We've updated & got a program some AVS vid Editor. The first half was from our earlier days second half no problem lol thanks though!

  • I like Ti, not the most durable material for blade, but it is light and rust proof. Just what I need for defensive knives.

  • I've heard from some guys that Ti is not that difficult to work with, that kept me wondering if it is easy to work with how can it be that strong! Really great vid, very clarifying !

  • Thank you so much for the info, I always learn a lot!

  • @Valerieannleeh thanks for watching you never told us what happened with that squirrel?
