You are right, this piece of Pi-Pa Concerto was written more than 20 years ago. The first time I heard 草原小姐妹 was in 1981, I was really struggling of my 1st year graduate study at Minnesota! Believe or not, it was a LP album (not CD)!

琵琶协奏曲《草原小姐妹》，吴祖强、王燕樵、刘德海创作于197­3年，1977年中央乐团首演。

It was written in 1973 and 1st performance played by Central Philharmonic Orchestra in 1977.
