your wrong 100% im a Yugoslavian gypsy my people call themselves egyptians we derive from Egypt we call it al masriya in our gypsy language and believe me the culture and music shows 100%even the religion we are Muslims like the Egyptians and a lot of our words are similar like patlichan shisi etc
@jackymillionaire .................. First of all we dont come from Egypt we orginally come from India arabic language is no way near the roma language..arabic language is o only 600 hundreds years old.. acient egypt did not speak arabic their language was lost.. there is ROM, LOM. DRom.. .. but all Roma..
@irenadamienmariah May i disagree a bit, i am egyptian and speak arabic language, arabic language is more than 2000 years old, & yup Al masriya in arabic means egyptian. but i don't have more information on that.
@irenadamienmariah Prophet Mohammad came to life more than 1400 Years ago, yes arabic came to egypt 1406 years ago, but before that egyptians language was mixture between Coptic and modern Pharonic, right now egyptians speak their own slang version of arabic which is full of vocabulary of different origins. still the word masr or Masriya came looooooooong time before arabic comes to egypt.
you can say i am from all over cairo, live in nasr city, work in mokattam, study in Al Hussein, my band performs downtown, & zamalik. so wherever i may roam.
R u a Rom? how is life there?.. i used to talk to someone from cario he told me it was very crowded and not much work and life is not that good ,, how do u see it?
it is very crowded & has many other problems rather than population & traffic & & & & but Cairo is a beautiful city. it is the city where you can hang out 24 / 7, you can have glimpses of different cultures in few moments, it is the salty sugar of the universe.
i find it hard to belive there r not any roma there of course there is i spoke to few there and i am told t here is a whole community of roma ppl....a project housing,, u r not aware of this?

@irenadamienmariah
Cairo doesn't have any Gypsys, what you see in this vieo is related to either countryside north to cairo or upper egypt culture south to cairo.
what else do you want to know about the city? i welcome answering all your questions

The nomadic groups of Egypt such as the Ghagar, Halebi & Ghorbati are not connected to the Romani (Gypsy) of Europe.
