Think Marshall should have come up with a 50th limited edition full size head that somehow covered the sounds of the last 50 years. So what if this had cost maybe £1500 to £2000, it would have sold if a limited edition. They should have launched these later this year after a 50th model head.
I really wish this wasn't limited edition. Here's Marshall's chance to cash in on the booming mini-amp market with quite frankly some KICK ASS amps, yes the haze is good but you know you want one of these more...but you out've know theres not going to be many of them and they're going to be un-godly expensive. I'll try my best to save up for the JVM though. It comes out in December, out of all of them I think I might have a chance of affording that one "IF" I can get my hands on one.
ive played with the micro stacks and honestly they sound pretty bad, the distortion sounds either tinny, or like bees in a can, the only good marshalls are the tube ones
i love how these company's charge close to a grand for these little heads and cabs. if your gonna spend that much you might as well go with the regular head. When will company's understand this?
@HearingLossProvider yeah it's a matter of taste. JCM2000 and JVM are not for single coil guitar imo. Anyway, they are incredibly versatile amp. Perhaps I should buy the JCM800 version. I think all that amps are amazing. Rock on later!
@Rallefy Not available yet. They will be released in 10-week intervals this year, the JTM1 first, then the JMP1, then the JCM800, then the DSL1, then the JVM1. Street price $750 for the heads, $950 for the combos.
As part of our 50th. anniversary celebration we are proud to announce the release of the JTM1C 1X10" combo and JTM1H head. Two 1 watt all valve amps that reflect the era of the 60's Marshall tone and ascetics. This duo are the first in a series of 5 limited edition 1 watt all valve head and combo pairings each paying homage to one of the 5 decades that Marshall has been in business.
Each pair will be released at approximately 11 week intervals throughout 2012 Marshall's 50 years of loud anniversary year. These will only be available in 2012 and will all be made in England with pride at Marshall's UK factory.
@GuitarmanSDW Always wait because NAMM is just one month away! Unless it's a ridiculously high dollar amp that you've been drooling over for years anyway.
Please read JBL6683's comment. If you intend on running a mini head through 2 4x12 cabs and through a 500w PA and complain its not powerful enough or loud enough of a head than I'm not sure I could take your comment seriously. It's not meant for an arena! It's meant for jamming out in your living room. Gotta be the dumbest comment I've seen in a long time!
Marshall Class5 was a 2011 version of their vintage circut Plexi style head in a mini package...Nothing special and extreamly under powered for even a single driver.
I bought it, owned it and sold it...cranked through single greenback and two differant Marshall 4X12 cabs I own...1990 Greenback 4X12 and a 1960 Lead 4X12 G12T75...Mic up everything ran the sound through my 500w PA and still sucked compaired to my 1998 version 1987x.
Mini is cute but always lack volume and thus aren't 4 me.

In the UK they are selling for £600 GBP and that's in Marshall's home market and without import taxes. What a rip off!
5150VanAlien 1 month ago
They're tube amps. They use 12AU7s as power tubes.

These are 1 watt tube heads. I like the plexi clean tone but I'm sure it's fairly nonexistent here

Why there's no JCM900 micro stack? That amp is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than JCM2000 and JVM.

I built an 18 watt version of the 1 watt JTM for a third of the cost. It's a great idea, but horrifically overpriced.

Marshall really upped the ante with that line-up of mini-heads. Christ, it was like the musical version of "Murderer's Row."
