  • I like your originality at the beginning.

  • That was amazing, some music would have made the video more interesting, but the ride was fantastic, basically flawless!! =)

  • Very nice coaster. The convex curved launch intrigued me a lot. Very original.

Your 3Ds are extremely good. The thing about them that exited me the most was "Ripple", the "kiddie coaster." That must of been really challenging to make.

Also, Do you use Google Sketch-Up Pro, or just Google Sketch-Up?

Lastly, Is there some way to import external textures for sketch-Up, or is the only way to make one's own to make them in Sketch-Up with the texture making program under "materials"?

  • Sorry, thought I had replied. Ripple was actually easy to do...if you have the construction kit or know someone who does, you can export a NL track to 3ds. All I did after that was edit the track itself a bit and add supports.

I use SketchUp and ask someone to export for me using Pro.

Yeah, i think under "file" is "import" where you can import textures and 3d model files.

  • Okay, thanks. And I do have construction Kit, but it's not regestered, but I think you can make a model without having it regestered.

  • Can you I set bankings in Purgatorium or do I have to do it in the editor? Do you use th force calculator?

  • Hey i have been recently using google sketchup pro and have had a few questions. Every time i import 3ds into no limits, shadows block out my textures and inside of stations. Is there anyway to fix this or turn off shadows? Thanks...drumncoasters247

    ps

    Great Coaster

  • I don't export the objects myself, but there's some procedure involving importing and exporting your sketchup objects through another program like 3dsMAX or Anim8or which will fix the problem

  • So then what do you do to make them yourself? I have the same problem as 247, but I am curious as to how you do it.

  • I made all the objects myself, but asked someone to export for me, so I didn't deal with the black faces myself. I don't have the full version of SketchUp or 3dsMax to fix the faces so I can't really do it myself without stealing the programs, which I'm not gonna do.

  • Haha, I see. Thanks! I'll just have to ask around to be able to fix those faces. ;P

  • who exported them for you? can you ask them what program they used please? i have the black textures'shadows problem

  • I've seen another vid of this ride w/ awesome music.

  • Yeah, that person initially passed the ride off as his own until I asked him to take it down, at which point he instead decided to give me credit in the title. This is the official video...first video I've made though, so I didn't know how to work with all the pertinent music copyright rules.

  • awsome coaster like the layout and even though its obvious you used AHG its very smooth, but how do you get it that smooth without AHG, please tell me

  • Woah this was one of the best rides on NL i have seen in a LONG time! The laucnh came as a shock and i could feel the floater in my chair. lol. If this ride was 100% hand built it is truely fonamul (sp?)

Did you use AHG or anything like it?

    5/5, Fav and subber!

  • Hey DeanoProductionsTM, I actually designed this ride completely in Elementary and did use AHG. However, don't mistake this choice for me picking the easier way out...the reasoning is, instead, the increased control and accuracy I can create through these tools. Basically I'm able to use the time it'd normally take one to smooth a ride in an unrealistic way and put it toward making as good of a layout with as high quality shaping as possible.

Thanks a lot for the comments!

  • Oh ok and you don't need to call me DeanoProductionsTM :P Dean or Deano is fine lol

Ooh ok, so how long did this take to make in elementary?

  • It's been so long... I'll say a current ride with FVD and AHG will take anywhere from maybe a couple weeks to several months depending on how well I know what I want to do, the degree of difficulty, and how many revisions I make. With all that said, time isn't as much of an issue as realism for me so I don't worry about it too much.

  • Oh klkl, ok, Thanks :P

  • holy cow my gosh the was like godly amazing and so realistic i would so ride it in real life 5/5!

  • that was okay, and my standard of okay is ungodly amazing XD Awesome ride dude

  • Thanks a lot Atem122, glad you enjoyed : )

  • Hey Dcs, do you think you can put up a tutorial on how to create and package your own skyboxes/environments? I'm still confused on how to make them.

  • hi, I'm probably not the best person to explain how to do that since I've only really done it once with this ride, and that was a long time ago. My procedure was to edit the environment text file to include the file paths of the tree textures I used, and include sizes for those trees. I think that was all I did, bc I didn't have a special skybox or anything. Try following someone's example, it's what I would do. I don't have experience past that, sorry. I too will have to figure it out.

  • nice love the layout and scenery

  • thanks for the compliments laughingperson5 : )

  • Hi Everyone. Before anyone comments, "CollinsDesigns" is my second account, where I will showcase my designs to you all. Hope you enjoy, as there is more in store : )
