Anyone know the piano music during the episode called "line up"? That music was so brilliant, but I couldn't find it. Any help will be much appreciated!
@squall600 The UK series is quite amazing. Kinda funny how when America makes remakes it fails, but here the UK is successful at transforming a US series. :)
@MinionBooBoo thats the thing i like about the U.K. there shows have more effort and thought when it comes to crime dramas and other shows. i also like the mighty boosh & garth marenghi's darkplace. and the one british fellow who made me like british comedy, none other than mr. bean :)
@squall600 I'm very proud of the UK Law and Order series, it's not very easy transforming same stories with different types of law system but they make it work and the cast chemistry is wonderful. They recently had to deal with some cast changes, and just this new series, they lost one of the original cast member, Jamie Bamber who played Matt Devlin. But the exit (or death) the character was given was so true to the core of the character, and the aftermath was so tear-jerking
@MinionBooBoo even the U.S. version is changing. Christopher Meloni who played detective elliot stabler has now left the law & order: SVU series after being in the show for almost 12 years. He was the heart of the series, sad he had to leave although it was christophers choice because he now wants to persue a more serious acting career in movies now.
@squall600 The original L&O series had a rotating cast for many years over its over 20 years of history so it doesn't surprise me that after 12 years that Meloni would want to move on. 12 years is a long time in television terms.
@MinionBooBoo Actually there have been a number of successful American adaptations of British shows. The most successful in recent years, of course, is The Office, but there have been others, such as Three's Company and All in the Family
I really like the fact that the lawyers in the UK have to wear robes to court (don't know if it's the case today. Her former colonies ie Hong Kong still requires it in many court settings). It makes it look much more formal.
Not saying that our system is bad, it's just different.
@newschannel I Live in Australia and went to The Courts (Here in Sydney, My Home Town :D) and they still were the Robes and Wigs etc. Im pretty sure every where still does it.
"The people"? Should the intro for L&O:UK make reference to "the people"? This makes sense in the American criminal justice system because crimes throughout the US *are* prosecuted on behalf of the people (i.e., "NY v. etc", "People v. etc.," "Commonwealth v. etc." Is it the same across the pond? I thought crimes were prosecuted on behalf of the monarch? (i.e., "Crown v. etc.," "Rex v. etc.," "Regina v. etc.")
@NawsChicky I always thought it meant "the people" as in everybody not necessarily referring to the vs epithet. I'm not sure what we use for that actually.
Very awsome theme, maybe better than the american one!! Thanks for the sound quality.
