  • 2 people just wasted their time disliking this video.

  • Also I understand that people have different taste of music but the thing is you know it is a difference between timeless/awesome and crappy/bullshit music, it just depend of the listener however in my opinion I chose awesome music like this because for one she doesn't have to act look a crazy person (Nicki M), diva (Beyonce) or a idiot (Lady Gaga). And finally she don't dress like a slut but I like the baggy jeans on her which it is so hip and cool

  • This is a pretty cool song even though it is from a different era/decade but when I see music videos from the 1990's of r&b, hip hop and rap i see good lyrics, passionate emotionful vocals with having cool background music to sing to but the thing is when you look into a decade such as the mid 2000's to 2012 that's when the urban scene is pretty much sucks. Autotune, Club Techno, Hip Pop is now the thing in urban music

  • She looks like Aaliyah in this video

  • aww she was pretty and had a nice voice

  • @f4billionyearzag0 as soon as I figure out how to upload it from my phone I got u..;)

  • VMB brought me here!

  • They don't make music like this no more!

  • ".....emcees act like they don't know....."

  • man this brings back memories!! Everyone used to tell me I looked like her...:)

  • @mekameeks82........let me see a pic so I can compare u two? ;-)

  • Classic! A forgotten gem. Everyone remembers the 3 teen queens (Aaliyah,Brandy,Monica) but only real enthusiast remember Mona Lisa.

  • Damn this brings back memories, just chillin listening to good music, not a care in the world, why did i ever have to grow up

  • Tha BOMB !!!!

  • This was my shit! I had her cd an everything! I dunno wtf happened 2 it? When this joint came out I was like awww maaan!! Chix singin over bangin hiphop beats??? Must have! Now that I'm older an lookin at this video I can really see that Mona Lisa was heavily influenced by Mary J. Blige! Itz almost like she bit her whole style? So I'm thinkin maybe thatz the reaon why she didn't last too long? Who know's? But I was feelin her tho!

  • @F4billionyearzag0 Oh nooo she was tight and original back then, its just that it was some many artists that were tight and it was tough to maintain. This song was bumpin when it came out , but you had Aaliyah , Brandy , Monica , 702 and all those other talents vying for attention too and they were HOT !!!

  • hahaha..no skinny jean,auto tune,wack ass shit hea..Nothing but NYC's finest living legends for real momo's...

  • tHUMBS UP IF YOU KNEW THIS FROM BEING AN 80'S BABY GROWING UP IN THE 90'S & KNOW REAL HIPHOP!!!

  • TRUE SCHOOL !!!

  • see these the type of artists that we lack now.. the not so popular but still very talented..

  • Aww it's Caine. This was my song back then. Watching this makes me really miss Mona Lisa, the Lost Boys, and the 90s period.

  • sweet old school in my mind and my heart, thanks for this music of angels

  • Man I Miss The 90's!!!

  • 4:10 caine from menace ii society :D

  • I remember blastin this on BET in '95 when I was 14 yrs old!!! After hearing her on the "Don't be a menace while drinking juice in the hood" soundtrack.

  • Dear users of youtube do not believe the copyright dates on most of these videos.

For example this was in 1996 not 1995

  • Dear today's Hip Hop and RnB

    What the fuck happened?

    Sincerely,

    The 90's

  • Damn, I had this album. How on earth she didn't make it BIG I have no idea.

Almost like Nicole Wray (who happens to be my homegirl).

You get quality artists and they end up no where. #wtf?

  • str8 klazzic joint, i remember on mister cee's throwback at 12 this came on, i flipped out, hadn't heard this since '96 or so!! nyce concept 2 da video

  • 2 people are still wasting time waiting for someone who's never coming back

  • those where the days when rappers used to dance, even if it was a little

  • dont be a menace

  • The devil has taken over the music industry so if it doesn't destroy or fit a stereo type it wont be promoted. And the youth are nieve and cant recognize this and get sucked in to BULLSHIT.. In 10 years the quality has just been destroyed. however there are alot of under hip and RnB that cant be messed with

  • the concept of video making in the 90's was so nice compared to nowadays ,where u have girls seductively shaking there ass.

  • ....instead of bein sad get up n brush our shoulders off

  • I USED TO DO THE DANCE THAT MR CHEEKS AND MONA LISA WAS DOING

  • @LoseMyFocus LOL. I was just doing it earlier, reminiscing on them good ol' 90s!

  • She sampled KRS ONE's MC's act like they don't know which came out the same year.

  • back in the days, female singers used to be so sexy fully dressed!

  • How Is Caine Going To Be In This. This Song Is On The Soundtrack Of The Movie That Is A Parody Of The Movie That He Is The Star Of LOL.

  • look at Cady Cain from menace to society at the end!! Classic.

  • I'm tired of these dam ads...

  • @13hamos I FEEL U

  • I remember this song like yesterday...this chick had talent.

To all the Lil kids on here telling us old heads to "get over it" there's a lot of Wacki Minaj...Rihannagoat..and Beyfake videos to go around. Get off this page and go watch them!!!!

  • this is a back in the day jam..lol yall remember.

  • She's SO00 Pretty/can S!ng, And D!s my Jam

  • Oldie but goodie

  • Where 90's music @? I missed it!

  • šupa

  • woah thank ya mon!

  • WHERE I KNO THIS SAMPLE FROM! I CANT REMEMBER!

    anyone? rap song

  • @2sdd KRS-ONE - Mcs act like they dont know

  • Mr Cheeks was doing her signature dance @ 3:18. Often imitated, never duplicated...

  • I love this song!!! She is definitely a true artist!

  • Classic!!!

  • This reminds me of Aaliyah .... the entire video & are you that somebody.

  • That bartender at 3:00, I thought was Chris Tucker, surprised me with the accent when he started talking. LOL!!!

  • Like if you found out about this song from "Don't Be A Menace To South Central While Drinkin Your Juice In the Hood" (damn thas a long title)

  • dam she so fuckin fine.naturally beautiful

  • Daaaaamn she look like Keyshia Cole!

  • An underrated artist who's not even in the spotlight. Miss the 90's.

  • I still jam to this song til this day. Everytime i listen to it i reminisce about the mid 90's in NYC. There will never be another era like this again!

  • ALICIAKEYS BUT THEN SO PRETTY WITHOUT MAKE UP WOOW

  • @YahzMangoTr3e no she looks more like Keyshia Cole.

  • classic!

  • I just like to sit back and zone and think about those 90s summers. EPIC.

  • 90s Rnb/Hip-Hop the put out some of the best music since the 70s IMO. 90s straight kills the 2000s. The shit tat we've been getting for the last 10 years + has been weak at best.

  • Classic jam !!!

  • "CAN YOU TELL ME" THIS WAS MY SHIT

  • hmmmmmmmmmmmmm takes me back in the day luv it!!!

  • I should go shank that fool right now lol.

  • thumbs up...

  • I AM ALL ABOUT THIS CHOREOGRAPHY!!!!

  • hmmm..remember how I loved Mr. Cheeks lolololol

  • Keshia Chante looks kind of like Mona Lisa. Both are beautiful women though.

  • dam!! will it ever go back to this im a late 80's and 90's fan myself and shes one of my favorites

  • @coolmanyela Not when J4ews run the shit like they do today. Attacking Blacks in thier own entertainment. Viacom & General Motors have bought MOST black entertainment and are trying to retrain blacks through the chnages in what they view on TV and hear on radio.

  • @Molossian wow..i was born a jew so does that mean we are all bad and im black

  • My jammmmm!

  • i am happy i was a 80's baby look at the music we grew up on.

  • Don´t be a menace to South Central while drinkin yo juice in the hood soundtrack! I love this one! :)

  • after all these years this songs still bangs 90's baby!!!!!!!!!!

  • She will always be a star !!! Her album is still a classic still a fan after all these years

  • Damn ain nothing like old school music!! 90's all day!!!

  • I love this song but the choreography in the video is borderline comedy! The vibe at the party seemed to flow a lot better than the dance sequences, let's be honest.

  • Daaaamn! I just realised that her and Aaliyah might've in competition. Wow!

  • 1 person who disliked dipppp

  • I love the 90s!!! Things do change but history always has a way of repeating itself

  • What happen to this, imiss the 90s...lmao I love real music

  • ugh! I'm so tired of everyone saying what happened to real music, I miss the 90's blah blah blah...please STFU with that. Music evolves, you should try it and get ouf of the 90s 80s etc..

  • @BlaminicanBarbie yes that is true is like people wish they were stuck in time or sum shit lol. Things change.

  • @BlaminicanBarbie Yes music evolves and I'm all for change and evolvement. I'm current with my own stuff. But there's a difference between evolving and just being plain wack. These artist today have no talent to back them up. They're just famous for no reason, and rely on gimmicks to keep them out there. BS is BS and you young folk don't need to get mad when we recognize it. You STFU to that.

  • @TiffanyTahiti First off I wasn't talking to your ass so don't comment on wtf I'm saying. Second IDGAF about your opinion so go fuck an AIDS dick hoe!

  • @TiffanyTahiti That's quite a generalization.

  • @TiffanyTahiti Amen to that lmao, death to stupidity

  • @BlaminicanBarbie We don't have a problem with music evolving now when it evolves to something that is wack then it is a problem.

  • Man what happened to songs like this? wow i luv it !!

  • times and style has changed period. stop blaming everything on "whiteys" lmao what a cop out. beyonce's own mother dresses her and if she wants to show her body to get to the top it's her choice.

  • classic music...classy woman without showing tits and ass...cant be matched....these songs were about REAL love!!!

  • @bajanprince474 They still had some banging bodies

  • damn back when a honey could were baggy pants and shit they aint have to show ass and shit

  • I think she got knocked up....

  • The 90's were like attack of the clones when it came to young ladies in the biz Mona Lisa, Aaliyah,Mya a loked similar and did the same type of music...no disrespect to any of them they all were talented in their own way.

  • I loved this song. She was so pretty.

  • I always thought she reminded me of Aaliyah ... I think it's her personality ... She seemed like a sweetheart.... Like Aaliyah....

  • Damn this was my shit! Reminds me if high school!

  • Sounds a bit like Monica.... looks a bit like Aaliyah.... why didn't she make it? There would of been room for her in the 90's. She's a lot better than Mya.

  • @cjacja21 don't diss Mya. Mya is talented as well.

  • damn what happened to her. very talented

  • damn what happened to her. very taleted

  • Mona Lisa could really blow and I liked her singles. I bought her album too. Too bad she didn't have a long career like she deserved.

  • class music..superb voice..cheated by music industry....all these mofo..voice enhanced punks...making heavy dough

  • damn she can sing!

  • what ever happen to her? she kinda reminds me of aaliyah

  • thumbs up if Tyler the Creator sent you here

  • classic at 4:28----in jamaican patois accent..."beer.. wi doe serve beeer ,(silence).........tek dis......and gwan bout yuh biznizz.." lmaoo classic..nikkas too damn young for beeer..lol....

  • I used to love this CD!!!

  • Dang man I love this song....I used to think Mona Lisa looked good

  • OMG....THIS USED TO BE MY SONG!!

  • one of my young crushes from back in the day. Always dug them lifting the beat from KRS-One's song

  • Old school!!!!!!

  • This bring's back memories. Excellent post!

  • ultra fine and good song where is my time machine

  • She's beautiful with a beautiful voice. She got her real hair, and this is real music.

  • I guess I'm the only guy that loved when girls would dress in baggy clothes n' tims or Dock Martins. Man, her hairstyle brings me back to the days when I was a young inexperienced buck. : )

  • @SoGood2BeBad nah B, I preferred that.

  • @SoGood2BeBad nah, youre not the only one...if a girl can pull off attractive in baggy clothes and tims, imagine how she'd look all done up

  • This used to be my jam right here. Wonder what happened to her?

  • @Kimmica20 She still records. Still fine as hell. Did a track with Cam'ron a few years back and did a few more cameos, but no album.

  • @TheEsquire212 She's very talented, wish she would've made it bigger in the industry. Thanks for the update.

  • @Kimmica20 Maybe she just values her soul?

  • @TheEsquire212 Yeah that could very well be it.

  • Why is it only one video on this channel, but I'm sure she had a video with her and the LOX?

  • damn...wat a hit! the memories. just goes to show u how today's music is straight trash!

  • @ahsyek04

    word!

  • @mistanderson I don't either. But when I do, they are brain washing people to like this crap by playing the same songs 20 times a day. Hot 93.7 in CT is owned by Universal/Sony, go figure. Where is the competition? Anyone under these labels or its affiliates would get the radio play!

  • # old. school. love it

  • Is that Tyrin Turner? Menace II Society?

  • @MsFGrace11 yep sure is and he also was in janet jackson's rhythm nation video too the black and white vid

  • @MsFGrace11 LOL hell yeah, without the mustache :-D

  • I'm mad as hell that I'm watching this video with a Rihanna ad in the back -_____-

  • Mona Lisa was a song bird. In the 90's you weren't coming out unless you had a voice...I miss that true R&B

  • According to mainstream now dictating what soul and R&B is, the standard R&B singer is Beyonce or Rhianna. Unfortunately, there is no room for diversity and true talent. Ass, tits, and lacefronts whipping everywhere is what white washed, mainstream, crossover, poptarts prefer. We need to stop supporting the shit, stop listening to the radios and give REAL R&B singers the love they deserve.

We gotta take our urban music back!

  • @swiley82 You right but I havent' listen to radio since Sept 09. I boycott radio until something change.

  • @swiley82 I agree, too much techno going on with today's music.

  • @swiley82 lol ass tits and lacefronts

  • @swiley82 it's time to bring back the true r&b joints like: groove theory -tell me faith evans - ain't nobody tamia - so into you deborah cox -sentimental mya ft jadakiss - the best of me keith sweat - twisted davina ft raekwon - so good rmx mona lisa ft jadakiss - just wanna please u veronica ft craig mack - no one but you total ft da brat - no one else faith evans - you used to love me allure ft nas - head over heels 112 - only you rmx yvette michele - crazy

  • @sleptonclassics You listed some great classic songs.

  • @swiley82 I feel dis dude

  • @swiley82 soooo beyonce is not talented according to you? your an idiot! beyonce is one the best singers i mean your have to be deaf or just hate mainstream music that much.

    ??

  • @Smokegerbs21 Now a days, that isnt saying much

  • @Smokegerbs21 according to me, she's everything white folks decide they want her to be. she continue to make crappy music because whitey says so.. How she got to the top...by stepping on the necks of others and stealing songwriting creds from songwriters, emulating white standards of beauty, and perpetuating everything sexually stereotypical of a black woman. then, one minute she wished to be latina, then proud to be creole, then she's just black, she don't know who the hell she is

  • @swiley82 I know thats right I'm all up for it.

  • @swiley82Word up!!!!

  • @swiley82 VERY WELL PUT!

  • YEP. THIS VIDEO IS LIVIN PROOF OF THE TERMINAL DECLINE OF R&B.

NOWADAYS THE GUYS ARE ALL SINGIN WITH AUTOTUNE, AND THE WOMEN USE SEX TO SELL AS THERE TUNES ARE CRAP - COMPLETELY SOLD OUT.. SO CALLED R&B NOW SEEMS SO FAR FROM WHAT IT WAS IN 95 THAT YOU CAN BARELY TRACE THE ROUTE IT TOOK. WHERE DID IT ALL GO WRONG??!!!

  • The 90's...... where sistas could rock baggy clothing & timberland boots..... we didn't have to show tits & asses in music videos and we were classy & sexy!

  • @braevbird timbs and baggy clothing on a female is not classy whatsoever! and you should kill your self for thinking that. I love this song and everything but im glad times change cuz of that reason.

  • @Smokegerbs21 Who cares about "class". Class isn't defined by clothes but the character of the person within them. The most classless people wear suits and "swanky" clothing. Dudes like me loved chicks who rocked gear like this because you KNEW they were in your corner.
