I remember when I saw this the first time years ago, I was speechless and even now her performance blows me away. People would understand this dance routine if they've seen the movie.

On another note, I don't think Karishma ever got the credit she deserved as a dancer, she was up there with Madhuri in my opinion. No one can beat Madhuri with her traditional dancing, but I think at times Karishma was even better than her with the more western styles of dancing.

At the end of the song the guy regrets it and says that she is absolutely fine the way she is and does not need to change.

Ridiculous choreography and dancing! For all those who are commenting that this is American style dancing - hell no!!! This is the dance they do for bollywood actresses who really don't know any break or pop dance. That's why it looks hilarious and a complete mess. The actress looks like a fool with these steps. She should stick with what she knows - Indian dance.

@simkunni and they are not meant to do those dance because they already have such beautiful forms of classical dances like Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kathakali, Oddissi, Konkani and so many more. I think Karisma has done a fabulous job here and if you ask a Hollywood actress to do Kathak or any forms of Indian classical dance they will fail miserably. Karishma did a great job in 'Jhanjhariya' as well. However, the choreography in this song asked for a western dance, & Karishma was 'meant to' perform it to the best of her ability. I'm sorry, but both the choreo & her performance were laughable, utterly ridiculous! Why make one do a western dance when she can't perform it & looks silly?

And I’ve watched DTPH, I wouldn’t call her brilliant but I think she did her best. Unlike some other bollywood actresses, she has done okay job in DPTH. In my opinion as a break/pop dancer, she is neither ‘brilliant’ not ‘astounding’ when it comes to Western styles & if you look carefully, you will see that her steps are quite basic, easy 101 pop dance stuff.

So Karisma's mediocre efforts were seen as 'brilliant'! But a trained dancer in these styles will easily tell you that though she tried her best, it was quite basic easy steps that she pulled off. And most of it wasn't really dancing, but 'strutting' or simply 'jumping/walking to music' to showcase her body..
