Your quoted couplet's second line by Syed Rizi Trimizi summarizes what I reiterated earlier. Regarding voice quality my submission is that it's sweetness is God gifted. Then it is for the singer to polish it, bring it tunefulness, rhythm by daily practice. Regarding Ghulam Ali his his Riazat and molding his tonal quality led him to a great Ghazal singer. Regarding deviating from the basic Raag in a song and the returning beautifully, Tufail Niazi was the master of this art.

Among the nig guns of folk singers in Pakistan from 1950-70, Tufail Niazi was perhaps the only one who was like worshipped in Indian Punjab..though Alam Lohar and Inayat Hussain Bhatti sahab were artists of the same class too. (One reason may be that in his childhood, along with his father n others he used to goto Gaoo-shala early in the morning and used to sing Keertan loudly there which helped him reach hi-notes so effortlessly in his later life..and that too with masterly control over voice)

What a tribute paid to the people who lay awake at nights and play their roles in the creative process whether pertaining to music or literature. Ghulam Ali's Punjabi song in the late sixties/early seventies is a halmark in his career. In those days my friend Mushtaq Hashmi used to sing this song very well.
