mikecaffey i am a pianist i do know some of the hunagian rhapsody but not all of it I think your kind of right it is a very difficult piece to play but its beautiful and fun to learn but i might want to wait a while. i kind of agread with you mikecaffey lang lang does fakes the hungarian rhapsody no2 at the end because he is supose to follow the notes and not put your hand's together. hope to see the frieska soon might have spelled it wronge lol.
this piece sounds like classical. very well done kastle. mikecaffey you should more of richard kastle syphmonie's on. and can you put the full hungarian rhaphosdy no.2 played by richard kastle please because i didn't really see it on your channle.
I'm a complete noob, admittedly, but I dig that I can detect both avant-garde and Romantic themes in this. Some of it sounds vaguely influenced by Philip Glass a la Candyman. Correct me if I'm wrong, I almost certainly am.
...at the same time. In general I think people fail to understand how things fit together and how the genius of Beethoven and Chess masters really works.
I think thats the main reason you get so many complaints on this account, lack of understanding in general!
And this is the answer I was hoping for, because it is how I sort of understood already... Chess Grandmasters dont typically see all the combinaions of pieces (unless they are a savant etc)... they see patterns they have seen before... and try to turn them into the patterns they want.
And in that sense music creation is both about the initial intelligence you approach it with, and the memory and understanding of more and more complicated patterns. It isnt completely about seeing everything...
I am so pleased to have found 2 other people, like myself, who are able to process complex-processes in my mind to write copious amounts of great symphonies.
Explain the merit of the Tonight Show. What is the robust correlation, if any between the merit of musical composition and CD sales? The majority of tonal works don't sell well either. My gosh, the comp students at Peabody revolted against atonality? Did the students at Juilliard, Eastman, Paris Conservatory, Royal College of Music , etc. unanimously follow these vanguards? Aaron Cassidy was appointed to the faculty of composition at Northwestern in the 2000's...
I don't really object to Kastle's capacity as a pianist (I'm not particularly partial to neither Lang nor Cziffra). However, your statements on youtube are at times, ludicrous. On the ACSAP website, it mentions that they give annual acknowledgements to orchestras that program contemporary works. John Cage was honored by them in the past.
Agreed

Whoa, this symphony is taking a lot of flak...

Rachmaninov created music in more than on style. He wrote vocal church music which is far different form anything he wrote for piano.

A modern composer who writes music that actually expresses human emotions. I'm all for it.

Atonality for the win!

I too am better than Kastle.
I am able to process over 1,000 micro-processes in my mind and have written more intricate symphonies than Beethoven.
Sorry Kastle, I hate to say it but I'm just plain better.
ImBetterThanKastle2 4 years ago 2
I have the ability to make an assessment on the amount of variables processed.
I too have written symphonies, 15 to be exact. And they are much better than yours. I have also written 10 piano concertos.
I don't know what to say, I am just a whole lot better than you.

I'm better than Horowitz, but he's clearly better than you.
Your music makes me cut myself daily.

Personally, I like atonal music such as those written by Messiaen and Boulez much more than your attempted neo-Romantic bullshit.

You have to give me citations! Right now, they only serve as a convenient and specious anecdote.
