  • Walter J Veith PhD is a ex-catholic , and is using the very words the Catholic Church uses , in proudly bragging about changing the Ten Commandments . They eliminated the 2nd commandment forbidding IDOL WORSHIP , and altered the 4 th commandment to do away with the 7 day of worship. to make sunday as a day of worship , .which is to give homage to pagan gods sun worship , the Catholic Church and Satan

  • both the new test and old test talked about the sabbath

  • The Catholic Church doesn’t have a problem stating they changed from Sabbath to Sunday. The problem is the other Sunday keepers who have to scratch their heads to find an excuse for keeping Sunday holy. That was my problem when this message hit home to my heart. Your first reaction is defense, but if you really love God you will heed and follow Him.

  • Isa: 1:13 God says he doesn't want Sabbaths anymore from "his people".

Hosea: 2:11 Is very very clear that God was going to do away with the Sabbath. To take out from it or to add to it are not good. Rev 22:19

SDA's just don't know Christ and his power like they should. Can you give me an account in the Old testament where you find Christ...??

  • @jjast73 Read first chapter 1 of John and you'll see who is the Creator from Genesis (Old Testament).

  • @jjast73 Not sure I understand what you're referring to. Have you read Isaiah 1 all the way through or just using that one scripture? Because Israel at that time had angered God so much with their rebellion. It was as if everything they did to honor God was in vain because a majority were so deep in sin and showed no signs of repentance much like our world today. I am not SDA or SDB but I do believe the Sabbath needs to be kept...not one verse in the bible shows Sunday as the Holy day.

  • This video speaks the truth. If God create the sabbath in the begginning of creation, and then ISAIAh 66:22,23 tells us that when the new heavens and the new earth is made ALL flesh will come to worship him, GOD says. It makes perfect sense that we still have to keep the sabbath holy now. Another thing is that the 10 commandments of GOD still stand, the laws that were nailed to the cross were ceremonial laws. strattgatt 3 is wrong col 2:16 speaks about cermonial law, acts 20:7 just says they ate.

  • "Therefore let no one act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day— 17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ." Col 2:16-17

  • @strattgatt that sounds like you're using the New International Version translation which can affect your thinking on the subject. Go with the more accurate King James Version please. Look at that exact same scripture in both versions and tell me that they read the same. This verse refers to the Holy Days in Leviticus 23 when the world was under the Law of Moses and its ordinances.

  • "And on the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to depart the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight." Acts 20:7

  • Did not the disciples worship on sunday as opposed to saturday after Christ rose from the dead?

  • Walter gives an excellent lecture and brings unwavering truth to the table, and still people with no knowledge of Scripture are so addicted to Tradition they will not hear it. Wake up, because if you are deceived now, you will not stand a chance when the false prophet enters.

  • If there is no law, then sin does not exist. So Stop trying to say the law doesn't exist, for without a law, how can we do right? I don't get you people and your logic...

  • @Bingolly1

Just answer the question on why did Jesus said for his disciples to pray for the day for them to flee from Jerusalem don't fall on the Sabbath day or winter on the time of the destruction from the Romans to come? Jesus knew that he would be dead and resurrected by then, he could only had said pray for it to don't be on a winter but why why why did he had to add the sabbath in it? Maybe because it still stands?

  • @GallantMind This Bingolly1 I would not waste your time. He got torn up by Keithtruth, he will never give a logical answer to scripture. Debate if you won't he will not bring truth but man's traditions to the table. He blocked me because I brought truth, and all he did is cut me down, real Christian like. So brush your feet of this person because no proof you give will be right in his blind eyes.

  • Even when the truth is presented, people still will fight to keep their Pagan day of Worship.

  • @junglemike72 Pagan day of Worship? What day? Which worship comes first? Pagan worship or God worship?

  • @GodIsSovereignty Sunday is the 1st day and was always a Pagan day to worship their God.

  • @junglemike72 What came first? Pagan worship or God worship? Who creates the days of week. God did. Every day belongs to God.

  • as a born again believer in christ, everyday is the sabbath to me. i'm not under law, i'm just a sinner saved by grace!

  • @rtm4jc What?

  • @rtm4jc

Grace saved you but it doesn't stop there. You need to love Jesus and keep his commandments. 10 commandments. Keep the sabbath (Saturday) holy. 3 type of laws talked by Paul in his letters, civil, ceremonial and 10 commandments. 10 commandments still applies today to everyone, jews, gentiles and Christians, also non-believers.

  • When Jesus said, "It is finished!" on the cross. He took away the sins of the world; therefore, he took away the law from us.

  • @GodIsSovereignty What Law? The Ten Commandments or the Book of the Law?

  • @junglemike72 What Law? Whatever law that condemns your actions as sins is the law Christ took away.

  • @junglemike72

I really don't understand why people say what law. The bible shares with us that God had a law, and it was found in its entirety in the book of the law of God. The book contained all that God commanded the people, and all the sin which people could commit, it also contained the shadow of salvation's plan, which was revealed in Jesus Christ.

God had a law, and it was the Torah.

  • @Myhopeisinhim Read your Bible and ask for understanding, The Book of the Law was placed on the side of the Ark of the Testimony the Ten Commandments were put inside underneath the Mercy Seat symbolic for the Throne of God, They are the Foundation, the Book of the Law was on the side, that is what was nail to the cross, it contains Cermonial Sacrifices and Cermonial Sabbaths not the 7th Day Sabbath. I search all my life and I found the truth. I am not an Adventist but I ask for this Knowledge.

  • @junglemike72

The ten commandments were called the words of the covenant, while the book was called the book of the covenant. The book shared the law of God in it's entirety. Everything in that book came directly from God, and revealed to us the power of almighty God, and the way by which mankind would be delivered.

The book of the law contained the story of creation, of cain and abel, of noah and the ark, of abraham and Isaac, of Moses and the Israelites, the story of the ten commandments

  • @junglemike72

Part two - everything that God wanted Moses to reveal to the people was put into that book, including the law of God twice. This book was the book that was able to be accessed as a witness to the people of not just their sin, but also of the power of almighty God in delivering the people. That God is faithful and not lacking in his promises.

It was this book that the bible says must be followed lest the curse come upon you.

  • Again, the book contained ALL that God wanted to reveal to the people. It wasn't a law of man, but the law of God.

  • @Myhopeisinhim Part 3 Saturday is the Sabbath and will always be. And the Book of the Law was against the people of Isreal, and Jesus sacrifice done away with it, that is why you do not have to do so many things and do burned offering etc. But he left us his Supper, and his Testimony. Sorry brother been around and seen every church their is, I have found the right one, but even it is becoming corrupt, with outside influences. God Bless and Peace to you.

  • @junglemike72

You quote the phrase "book was against the people". Why was the book against the people?

  • The all powerful God rested on the last day of the week, Friday.

  • The true Messiah guarded all His Father's commands (John 15:10) including the 7th day Sabbath (Luke 4:16).

And this is what His true followers did (Luke 23:56; Acts 13:42,44; Acts 18:4).

IF we want to follow the true Messiah we will walk as He walked (1 John 2:3-7).

    Too simple.

  • I invite you to visit our website, "Sabbatismos." we pray you'll be blessed and enlightened by what we have to share about Ellen White and further resources on the issue of the Saturday Sabbath.

    Blessings in Christ,

    Sabbatismos (Heb. 4:9)

  • wonderfull!

  • what does it matter I worship GOD and the Lord JESUS CHRIST every day of the week.

  • @shnazer1

    Hey how are you brother,

There is no problem with worshiping God everyday. That's actually a good thing. The problem is the God commanded a day to be Holy and Holy it will always be. God made a day to worship him for us to take time out of our busy lives and keep that entire day for him. He doesn't want you working, or doing anything that doesn't involve God. And that is why you should keep the Sabbath Holy.

    God Bless

  • Edward Dunigan and Bros. 1851; Isaac Williams "Plain Sermons on the Catechism" Vol 1 pg334&336. The pope is never and will never be the God on earth. He is not instituted by God but by man. We only have one God which is n Heaven.

  • We are worshipping one God...and what He was before..is still the same God we have right now. And whatever law God has established, no man can/must change....the catholic church accepted that they changed the true day of worship whch is the seventh day Sabbath to Sunday. Therefore, thr true day of rest is Saturday. Check this references: REv. Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R. • Over the years we have all been lied to by many false Religous Leaders and so called prophets. Many things we have been taught are not even in Scripture and millions have swallowed so many lies by these false leaders. If you are a truth seeker please visit the web site which is displayed in our user name and take the time to read some of the articles... You will be very shocked.

There is a great audio there for you to listen to. You will come away asking many questions.

    Thanks Ben

  • The real SABBATH DAY is SEVENT DAY the 7day of the week.

  • Of course the "real" sabbath is the Seventh day. No Christian ever denies that fact.

The question is - are Christians bound to still worship on that day as Old Testement Jews were - who were under the Law? I believe the answer is 'no'. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath and actually, we should be worshiping him every day, every moment. The Sabbath Worship was an inferior command to make sure that at the LEAST, God was worshiped once a week and not forgotten. Christians worship every day.

  • Gos or his word does not change he is the same then now and forevermore.

  • @macpduff

Your right, God should be worshipped everyday. But he commanded the Sabbath so people can commit the ENTIRE day to him. He doesn't just want 5 minutes or even an hour of your time that day. He wants as much love as possible. God made the Holy day so we do not forget about him, so that we can learn and converse about him on that day.

Mark 15:42 and Matthew 28:1 show that Mary obeyed the Sabbath completely. And those are both in the new testament.

  • Jrodmusics;

The Sabbath was part of the Mosaic Law. Mankind was not required to keep it before Moses. If you want to observe the weekly Sabbath the Orthodox Jews have a lot of strict rules to teach you. I don't think most Christains are prepared to really "keep" the Sabbath. Before the Crucifixion all believers kept the sabbath. After Pentecost, Christians "kept" the Sabbath but "celebrated " the Lord's Day Sunday.I believe the Lord's day Celebration is for us in this New Covenant/Testement age.

  • Jrodmusics: But I have no problem with Christians who wish to worship on Saturday. That is part of the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. Just be cautious going down that road and don't do it as though you are under the Mosaic Law. That road leads to legalism and away from Grace - from what I've seen. I may shock you, but I don't believe the venerable 10 Commandments are for today's Christians either. We follow the Golden Rule, which sums up all the 10. Law with Grace = new wine in old wineskins.

  • @macpduff

Give me the verse that says where God changed the Sabbath day. You will not find it.

Why did you disregard the two verses i gave you earlier about Mary still keeping the sabbath? Is it not convenient for your argument? Mark 15:42 and Matthew 28:1

Mary kept the sabbath. Don't you think Jesus would have told her if he changed the Sabbath day?

And there were two separate laws. The 10 commandments and Moses's law. Moses's law was abolished but the 10 commandments stay forever!!

  • @Jrodmusics I didn't disregard your verses. Look at my comment. I said that before the Crucifixion, Christians "kept" the Sabbaths. That included Mary and also Jesus. I agree. But, Jesus' life and Resurrection was the transition period between the Old Covenant and a new and better covenan. Before the Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Pentecost, all of Jesus' followers were still under the Mosaic Law. We're not. There is a reason why the Christian bible is called the NEW Covenant (Testament).

  • @macpduff Why was the covenant better. And does it have anything to do with the Sabbath.

    GBY

  • @bige8315

the ten commandments was the old covenant thus the ark of the covenant carried the stones of the ten commandments, but with out the torah,\ law of moses\law of God you would never of known how to keep a sabbath. or what what was needed to keep the commandments. the fault of the first covenant was with man they could not keep them so God made a beter covenant you can find this in hebrews

  • @Acerrak The new covenant is the ratification of sin through the blood of Christ not bulls and goats. That is the sum of it.

    Blessings

  • @Acerrak So what you are saying is," God can not keep you from sin".

My God is bigger than that. And, God wrote the commandments with his hand, not the hand of Moses. The only difference between the old cov. & new cov. is the blood of Jesus, not animals. And you are right the fault was with man, not the commandment. And I am sure you know that covenant means commandments.

    Blessings

  • what do you think of these verses....."There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his"-Hebrews 4:9-10..."The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness."-Psalms111:7-8..how is it that the commandments are forever, but according to you their abolished?

  • Paul knew that the commandments were still in effect because he says this.."Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;"-Ephesians 6:1-2...if the command was abolished he would have said "it WAS the first commandment with a promise"..but he said "IS" which means it still is in effect!

  • @macpduff Ceremonial Sabbaths are mosaic, 7th day Sabbath is absolutely not mosaic, but of course of the 10 moral commandments. Lev23. Remember Paul kept the Sabbath and preached as was his custom. Acts13:14,15,27,42.

  • @bige8315

Have you ever researched the phrase used in Colossians to find out the biblical usage of it? Did you know that it is used over 7 other times in the bible, and has been proven to mean seventh day sabbath?

  • @Myhopeisinhim The law is the 10 written by Gods hand, you are refering to ceremonial explicitly. I am sure I will have to show you my friend.

    Until next time, Blessings

  • @bige8315 Paul also stated to a jew i became a jew to one under the law i also put myself under the law but not bound by it in order to reach them that are under it. 1 Corinthians 9:20

what better place to reach jews in one area in the synagogues on the sabbath, but many gentile areas did not have synagoges and the greeks were never told to keep the sabbath or any jewish custom acts 15

  • @Acerrak So he taught them the commandment, by example. And again that is why they mostly met in living quarters. We are told to keep the commandments, that is love and all the law hangs on that doctrine. Remember! the purpose was to reach gentiles, not jews. Then again we are all called Jews in the new Jerusalem.

  • @Jrodmusics

The new testament also shows, Jesus amongst others being circumcised thereby obeying a command of GOd..It also says that Mary obeyed the commands of purification according to the law of Moses...but does that mean that the purification commands and the circumcision command exists for us today?

I'm afraid you can't really use that as a means of proving that it exists as a command to the church.

  • @Myhopeisinhim

    Explain this verse my friend.

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from HIS! Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience. - Hebrews 4:9-10

  • @Jrodmusics

The first question I'd like to ask is, what work did God rest from...and why?

  • @ Myhopeisinhim

God didn't have to rest because he's God, but he rested to set an example for us. In Genesis it says that God mad the world in 6 days and rested on the 7th. And Hebrews 4:9-10 shows that the Saturday sabbath day is still in effect.

  • @Jrodmusics

The word rest used in the book of genesis means to cease..stop what he was previously doing...Why did God stop what he was previously doing? And what was God doing previously?

  • You sound like a person who likes to twist scripture and screw up the truth.

God mad the world in 6 days and rested on the seventh. Then Hebrews 4:9-10 says, "There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from HIS! Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience."

I don't understand your irrational arguments man.

  • @Jrodmusics

Why did God cease working, and what did he cease working from? It has nothing to do with twisting scripture...

  • @Jrodmusics

Did God rest because it WAS the seventh day or for another reason all together?

  • @Myhopeisinhim God did not need rest. It was an example to us. The Sabbath is a day of worship, not sleep. Shabat means to cease from, from what ? Worldly devices and distractions so we can share in worship and fellowship with God and our brethren.

    Blessings

  • @bige8315

Why did God cease from his work? Does Genesis say he stopped working as an example because it was the seventh day, or for another reason altogether?

Why does the bible say God ceased from his work?

  • @Myhopeisinhim Actually it does, use your common and study, sorry if that sounds insuting, I could think of a better term. But I am sure I will hear from you again my friend and I will try my best to explain Gods will for us.

    Blessings

  • @1brEadkOFi so what

  • the Pope is god on earth, he can do any thing he wants, even accept evolution !

  • Do not cornform to mans traditions, but by every word spoken out of the mouth of

G-d.Follow the Ten Commandments, they are not options and G-d is not politically correct. Matter of fact He is not a religion , He is our creator.

A friend in Christ , reborn with the Holy Spirit.

  • What is presented by Dr. Veith is called 'RESEARCH'. Notice he doesn't use his own words, but quotes from some of the most scholarly sources of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism.

Even both the Westminster (1646) and London Baptist (1689) Confessions admit that after the resurrection, the sabbath was changed to Sunday. Of course, this is totally without warrant from any teaching found in Scripture. Good job, Dr. Veith! Excellent presentation, sir.

  • Christians can't even figure out what day to worship. LOL

If you don't like the church, just start you own.

  • Adventists are so far removed from original Christianity that they can barely be even considered Protestant. Catholics are original Christianity, pure and complete.

Adventists religion founded by Ellen Gould White 160yrs ago.

Catholic church founded by Jesus Christ 2000yrs ago.

    Which makes more since?

  • >Adventists are so far removed from original Christianity that they can barely be even considered Protestant.

Hmm, most Christians even as late as the 5th century still kept the Sabbath. The Protestant Reformation brought out that we are saved by faith. The SDA church expands on that to righteousness by faith.

  • Hmmm,I'm neither cath or prot...just a Christian after the way of Christ!

  • If you choose to obey PART of the Mosaic law

you are obliged to keep it ALL, according to Paul.

    So don't be hypocritical,

let's see you killing people who work on the Sabbath!

  • Imaginefree69; I'm a Christian who also never questioned The Lord's Day as the distinct day of worship. The earliest Christians began gathering on that day the bible says. However, the command to honor the Sabbath is not from the Mosaic Code, it's from the 10 commandments. I don't know of any other commandment that has been canceled. Logic says this would still be in effect too. Jesus reduced the 10 to their essence - love God and love your neighbor, but never canceled the 10.

  • "the command to honor the Sabbath is not from the Mosaic Code, it's from the 10 commandments."

Since when are the 10 commandments not part of the Mosaic law?

It was Moses who (wrote and) delivered the 10,

and it only was intended for archaic Israelites.

The Gentiles never had any business co-opting ANY of Moses' laws.

    Romans 14 is quite clear

about honouring "days" or not honouring days.

"Love one another" covers coveting, stealing, lying, killing, etc.

  • Imaginefree69; The 10 commandments were written by the finger of God. Moses wrote the Mosaic codes, dictated by God. I never considered the 10 part of the Law. I won't debate you on this because I am just becoming aware of the problem faced by Christians (and myself) of trying to straddle the Old testament and the New. The Messianic movement has brought this to my attention as they attempt to Judaize Christianity. I intend to 'research' just how "new" the New Contract (testament) is that we have

  • "I never considered the 10 part of the Law."

If you find anything substantial that supports this view

I hope you'll share it with me, macpuff.

    I'd genuinely be interested.

    Thanks.

  • Yes, Rom 14 in context is quite clear on what days you fast or not on :)

Romans 14:3 Let not him that eats despise him that eats not; and let not him who eats not judge him that eats: for God has received him.

  • Acts and other bible books are clear that the earliest Christians - the ones who knew Jesus in the flesh, - began gathering/worshipping/celebrating the Lord's supper, - on the first day of the week. For a while, the Jewish Christians tried to observe both the 7th day at temple and synagogue, and then celebrate the Messiah on Sunday. The significant events of Christianity took place on Sun. Sunday was the day of celebration long before the C.C. officially recognized it.

  • Not true!

1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Luke 4:14-16 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about. And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read

  • quest380; So? I already said that first Christians celebrated/observed both the Sabbath and the Lord's Day. Before His death and resurrection, Jesus and his disciples were good practicing Jews, observing all the feast days + the Sabbath.

But now if a Christian observes the weekly Sabbath, consistency demands that he observe all the additional Sabbaths and feast days. NT Christians are not under the 10 commandments and in Jesus, every day is my Sabbath. Jesus is my Sabbath rest. Stop Judaizing.

  • Not only keeping the annual sabbaths consistent with the weekly sabbath...they stand or fall together! Jesus was resurrected at the end of the sabbath before it became the next day. A 72 hour period of time thus fulfilling the sign of Jonah being 3 days and nights in the grave opposed to the veiw of it being parts of 3 days and nights.

  • quest; I agree that logic shows that Jesus was crucified and died not on Friday - but on an early "sabbath" because there was another special passover sabbath that week. ppsimons has an excellent video on this.

I've wrestled with the sabbath vs Lord's day question and have concluded in my heart that as Christians we are free to worship on any day of the week. Following the OT laws leads down a dangerous path of legalism. The Lord has made us free indeed because He is the Lord of the Sabbath.

  • so your going to follow your wqill and not the will of God Wow do what thine will u are you own God now.

  • Utube737- Don't be silly. The Sabbath is part of the Mosaic law under the Old Covenant. It was for OT jews. If you live by part of the law, you'd better keep it all. This isn't a catholic thing. Every Protestant church observes Sunday. Actually, the catholic church has a Sabbath Mass which people who wish to observe Sat can attend.

The Lord's day has been the day of worship for Christians since Jesus left the earth.

  • @macpduff

If the Sabbath was actually changed to Sunday, then why is it that Mary when she wanted to see Jesus after the burial the bible says that she didn't go because she had to obey the Sabbath? The bible also says that Mary went to visit Jesus at his burial AFTER the Sabbath. Don't you think she would have known about the change since Jesus was her SON?

Matthew 28:1 ---After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

  • @macpduff A commandment can not be part of mosaic law, it's eternal. Thats why we will observe it in Heaven.Isaiah66. Luke was a greek and he kept the Sabbath.

How about Noah, was he Jewish. And Adam and Eve, were they Jewish. Greeks and Jews kept the Sabbath in the book of Acts.

    Blessings

  • @bige8315

Can you show me where Noah, or even Adam and Eve kept the sabbath? or for that matter anyone in the book of Genesis? The bible says the sabbath was made known to Moses.

  • @Myhopeisinhim I can show you, it is in the bible. And all the bible is interpreted to hold true for every book in it, or do you not believe that. Did not Jesus say the Sabbath was made for man? Yes. Every man, of course.

    Blessings

  • @bige8315

Since you skipped over the comment about how the phrase in colossians is used other times in the bible, I thought I might share those times with you

the sabbaths, in the new moons, and on the set feasts - 1 chronicles 23:31

The sabbaths, and on The new moons, and on The solemn feasts - 2 chronicles 2:4

The sabbaths, and on The new moons, and on The solemn feasts - 2 chronicles 8:13

The sabbaths, of The new moons, for The set feasts - Nehemiah 10:33

  • The feasts, and in The new moons, and in The sabbaths - Ezekiel 45:17

Her feast days, Her new moons, and Her sabbaths - Hosea 2:11

Holyday, or of The new moon, or of The sabbath [days] - colossians 2:16

As you can see each time it is used, it is used in ascending or descending order. The word New moon is never placed at the beginning or at the end, something of which you would see at least once if the term sabbaths was related to the days of rest found in the solemn feasts, and not the 7th day

  • -Part three-

Can it be proven that the term "the sabbaths" in these verses are related to the seventh day sabbath? Yes...Look at Nehemiah 10:33

Neh 10:33 For the shewbread, and for the continual meat offering, and for the continual burnt offering, of the sabbaths, of the new moons, for the set feasts, and for the holy [things], and for the sin offerings to make an atonement for Israel, and [for] all the work of the house of our God.

  • -part four-

The shewbread was something that occurred specifically on the seventh day sabbath:

Lev 24:7 And thou shalt put pure frankincense upon [each] row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, [even] an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

Lev 24:8 Every sabbath he shall set it in order before the LORD continually, [being taken] from the children of Israel by an everlasting covenant.

Even the evening and morning sacrifices, which is spoken of in 2 chronicles 31:3

  • 2 chronicles 31: 3 says: He appointed] also the king's portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, [to wit], for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as [it is] written in the law of the LORD.

You can read about these morning and evening offerings by going to Numbers 28. It talks about daily sacrifices, the sabbath day sacrifices, new moon sacrifices, and yearly sacrifices.

  • -part six-

more specifically seventh day sabbath sacrifices. The order once again is in perfect sequence...daily, weekly, monthly, yearly. The order is never ever mixed up, not once

It either showed, weekly, monthly, yearly....or yearly, monthly, weekly. If you accept the proof given in the bible, you have no choice but to accept that Paul knew what he was doing when he used the same phrase as the old testament.

  • -part seven-

Remember the bible isn't up for private interpretation. If the bible has already proven that the phrase meant the seventh day sabbath, then that is how it is to be accepted. We can't then change it because we don't want to believe thats what it means.

Paul was a pharisee, he knew the law, he knew what he was saying when he told the people that. He knew it referred to the seventh day sabbath. To not believe that is to take all the previous proof and toss it out the window.

  • -part eight-

If it was never used before, and that was the first time Paul ever used it, the first time it came into existence in the scriptures, one might be able to pick and choose what it meant; but, it was used numerous times, and is proven to mean the seventh day sabbath.

Those who believe otherwise are going against the proof already given in scripture. Paul knew it meant seventh day sabbath.

  • @Myhopeisinhim Perspective: 2Col.2:14,16(ceremonial) Hand-writing of ordinances AGAINST US(written by Moses, not God) these are not commandments.

Deut.31:24-26 This book of law on the SIDE OF THE ARK OF THE COVENANT OF THE LORD, that it might be a witness AGAINST US. Lev.23:37-38 To keep feasts and offering, holy convocations BESIDES THE SABBATHS OF THE LORD.

There is a clear distinction between ceremonial law and Gods law. Isaiah56:6 Isaiah says the "stranger shall keep the sabbath".

  • @Myhopeisinhim Isaiah66:22,23 All flesh will keep the Sabbath on the new earth. Mark2:27 Sabbath is for MAN. Luke was a gentile, he kept the commandment he also wrote Acts, Where gentile and jew kept the Sabbath. Exodus 20:10,Isaiah58:12, Sabbath is nowhere in the bible called the sabbath of the jews, but The Sabbath Of the Lord. Its all here brother, and there is much, much more. It just amounts to if you want to keep Gods law or the law of man.

    Blessings.

  • @bige8315

Do you believe you'll keep the new moon festival too? This one occurred on the first of every new month.

  • @Myhopeisinhim Interesting! But in Isaiah66 is says nothing of keeping new moon festival. Maybe you know that each month began with a new moon and the jewish religious year it began March/April and coincides with the latter rains(Joel2:23) Check new moon(Num10:10,28:11, 1Sam20:5, Psa.81:3, Amos8:5,Col.2:16) If it begins each month that would be month to month. Obviously God did not name the months, Pagans did. Gods people kept track of the months by new moons. That is historical.

  • @bige8315

That is correct, they kept track of months by the new moon....but did you know that they celebrated the new moon? They didn't do any buying or selling, and they blew trumpets etc on the first day of a new month. If Isaiah 66 meant the keeping of the seventh day of each week, then it meant the keeping of the first day of each month.

Otherwise the verse simply means from month to month and week to week. Don't forget about consistency

  • @Myhopeisinhim Consistency! I am a little sad that you have missed the point. Especially about consistency. God is consistent, man is not. The whole point is clearly dictates the duty of man in order to reach salvation (Ecc.12:13) "Fear God and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man". God is perfect, his law is perfect and has never been changed, by him. (Malachi 3:6 "I change not". That is all my friend, it can not be debated. Perfect God, perfect law.

  • @bige8315

If God's law can't change, then why do you believe his book of the law changed?

  • @Myhopeisinhim The Sabbath is the 4th commandment, always. There is not one verse that says otherwise, I am sure you know this because you would of shown it to me. New moons, festivals, passover...... It is truly not significant my brother because the commandment has not, and will not change. The law was a promise my friend, and a covenant and will never be made void (Galatians 3:17-22). A promise by a loving Father who would keep us from sin if we call upon him.

  • @bige8315

There are a couple verses I'd like you to consider:

Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days]:

Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.

Hbr 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, TO DAY, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.

  • Col 2:10 - And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

The reason the verse in hebrews says he limiteth again a certain day, calling that day today is because, the moment you place your faith in Jesus, he makes you complete. Allowing you to come into the presence of the Father, right into the most Holy place, the resting place of God. The place you could not enter before Jesus made you complete.

That is why today is the day you can finally enter that rest.

  • That is why the sabbath was only a shadow, you couldn't enter the true rest before Jesus...this is shown when man could not enter the most holy place before Jesus rent the veil.

I know you don't see it as a shadow, but it is one of the most amazing shadows. It foreshadowed true rest in Jesus Christ! You can chose not to believe it if you want to, but I could never give up the most amazing rest yet by returning to the shadows.

Could you return to animal sacrifices again after finding Jesus?

  • @Myhopeisinhim

The fact that the Papacy claims to change the day from Saturday to Sunday is sufficient evidence alone to disqualify the notion that Saturday is no longer important, and that Jesus Christ replaces Sabbath keeping. Scripture predicts in Daniel 7 that he would "seek to change times and laws". If Sabbath is no longer binding, then the Papacy changed nothing, as this change was made in the New Covenant age. Therefore, you better re-assess your theological pillars.

  • @Lysimachus78 worship on sunday is in the scriptures for the church age under grace. the sabbath was a sign to jews. God never gave signs to gentiles, also when jesus resurrected it made it possible for a new covanant and many old testament laws are done away with. were is your animal sacrifice, that is a commandment to. you see lots of commandments were done away with by the ressurection of christ. in new testement we eat meat, and bible says if you command not to it is the doctrine of devils.

  • @1942nuclear Wrong.

  • @Lysimachus78 Wrong

  • @Myhopeisinhim Isaiah 66: 22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

  • @junglemike72 SDA believes that Isaiah 66:22 talks about the Sabbath still observed in heaven. You should read Isaiah 65. In this new earth and heaven, people still die. Also you cannot have "new moon to another" in heaven for there is no sun; there is no season. God gives light in His Kingdom. SDA picks and choose biblical scripture here. Isaiah 66:22 says people will worship Christ everyday. "from one sabbath to another" is simply "everyday". Today, we worship God everyday, not just Sunday.

  • @GodIsSovereignty

    Amen!

In regards to Isaiah 66:23, it simply refers to coming together month after month, week after week to worship him, basically talking about continual worship, not seventh day worship. God had many more days than just one in which people came to worship him in the bible, and if truth be told, he's worshiped everyday:)

  • @Myhopeisinhim I really have no intention of offending you my friend but as sure as rain you are consistently using non biblical truths to make your point, which at this point is moot. Your believes and intentions are between you and God alone. And only he will judge you, not me. Sadly, I find no edification in our discussion any longer. I do hope you will study earnestly and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you.

God-bless my Brother, and take care.

  • @Myhopeisinhim I am sure you can conclude that the festivals were done away with, not the custom of exacting the month. Genesis says the Lord blessed the 7th day. The commandment calls the Sabbath the 7th day, and the seventh day the Sabbath. You cannot have one without the other, check Heb4. 1Chron.17:27- What God blesses is blessed forever. Deut.4:13 calls the commants his covenant,Psalm89:34 says God will not alter or break his covenant. But there is more my friend......

  • @Myhopeisinhim Mark2:27-28, Sabbath made for man(mankind), I am Lord of the Sabbath. That must mean Jesus wrote the commandments-John1:3"All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made, remember it says in the beginning was the word and the word was God John1:14 The word was made flesh.

Jesus. vs.1 The word was God. God comissioned, Jesus created. It is between you and the Lord brother, Don't miss a blessing.

    God-bless.

  • @bige8315

There was a blessing for the people no matter what celebrations they kept. If they kept his commands he blessed them, this included any of the Lord's other festivals...but these festivals pointed to an even greater blessing and promise that was to come.

We've entered the greater blessing and promise through Jesus Christ that the sabbath was only a shadow of.

  • @Myhopeisinhim I concur. Noah, Adam, and Eve did not keep the Sabbath. The Sabbath was given to Moses and for the purpose of the Israelites remembering that it was the Lord God who brought them out of slavery. Keeping the Sabbath was part of God's convenant with Israel. Christians are New Covenanters and we don't keep any kind of Sabbath. We CELEBRATE the Lord's Day. By the way, if you 'keep' the sabbath, if you leave your house or even cook, you are guilty of breaking the whole Law.

  • @bige8315 Noah, Adam and Eve did not keep the Sabbath. It was given by God to Moses for the Israelites to remember that the Lord took them out of bondage in Egypt. If you are a Christian and you 'keep' the Sabbath, you'd better do it right - from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown, no cooking, no shopping, no eating in reastaurants, etc. Break one part and you're guilty of breaking the whole Law. Caution: Those who live by the Law will die by the Law. I prefer to live by Grace, thank you.

  • @macpduff

    amen:)

  • @macpduff Interesting! Gen2:2 Sabbath was blessed and sanctified in the garden of Eden. Sanctified means (set apart for holy use) Adam & Eve were the only ones at that time to use it as worship. It was not set apart for Gods use. The only memorial of Gods people being taken out of bondage was the ceremonial sabbaths Exodus 13:1-16. The seven yearly Sabbaths to be kept (beside the sabbath of the Lord) Lev.23:38. All SDA keep the Sabb. sundown to sundown, and follow it as the commandment .

  • @macpduff CAUTION- Rom.3:31We establish the law,Rom.2:13Doers of law are justified, Rom.7:12Law is good,Rom.7:22 Delight in the law. Where there is no law there is no transgression. Are you sinless, if you are than there is no law. And we know that no one is sinless. Grace is good, but God did not save you in your sin. He saved you from sin. Rom.6:15 We still do not sin if we are under grace. If you love God you keep his law because it is a natural act of Love towards God.

  • If you are a Christian who wishes to worship on the 7th day, - fine. In fact the Catholic Church has Saturday Mass. I prefer Sunday because it symbolizes the momentous change of when God stepped into human history. For the same reason, sacred books written after Jesus are separated and called the New Testament (Contract). But a Christian is free to gather and worship on any day. We are not under the Torah Law.

Is this speaker Northern Irish? He seems to be 'hung up' on the Catholic Church.

  • @Imaginefree69-Seriously? Have you ever read the Bible before?

Exodus 31:18 "And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, WRITTEN WITH THE FINGER OF GOD."

Exodus 34:1 "And the LORD said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first: and I WILL WRITE upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest."

Still think Moses wrote the 10 Commandments?

  • @hisrobeormine

Yes, I've read the Bible many times.

It's filled with errors, lies, contradictions,

and fairy tales about unicorns and talking animals.

But if you believe that YHVH dictated the Mosaic law,

    what's the difference?

Writing with his finger or Moses' finger,

it's still the Law as delivered to Moses.

People sure love to strain at gnats

while they swallow fairy tales the size of camels.

  • @Imaginefree69- Wrong again, the Mosaic law is NOT the 10 commandments, you sunday keepers crack me up. You guys never have any biblical evidence to support your man made traditions.

When talking about unicorns in the Bible in EVERY instance it is translated in the hebrew language as a wild bull(cow) yeah, you sure have "read" your Bible.

FACT-The only lies you have ever heard are from your own mouth.

I seriously can't stay any longer or I might drown in your ignorance and deficiency.

  • @hisrobeormine "the Mosaic law is NOT the 10 commandments" You are twisting my words. The commandments are PART OF the Mosaic law. Why should I believe you at all when you post such obvious lies? Yes, the unicorns exist only in the KJV. But many, many Xians insist that the KJV is the ONLY WORD OF GOD, so that is the version I use here. Your "FACT" sounds like it was written by an angry 12-year-old. And it is another lie, of course. Why do you people love to lie for Jesus?
  • @hisrobeormine

    You make uninformed assumptions,

so you must not be surprised that they are wrong.

    I am no "Sunday keeper."

    I post about the Bible

ONLY what I can support by scripture.

So your accusation is also wrong-

I have heard lies from YOU.

  • @hisrobeormine

Why do you carefully avoid the talking animals?

Why don't you address the lies and contradictions?

Is cherry-picking the national sport of Christ;s Kingdom?

  • @hisrobeormine They do not have scripture knowledge and nither do their Pastors. They think that the 10 Commandments were nail to the cross, so I guess we can murder and steal without judgement.

  • @junglemike72 "They think that the 10 Commandments were nail to the cross, so I guess we can murder and steal without judgement." The Bible says we all fall short of the glory of God. We were murderer and thieves brother. We're now justified righteous by our faith in Christ. It's God grace that we are saved, not works. The Law is a tutor. Those who need a tutor are children. Those who do not right from wrong need the Law. We don't. We live by love; it is the fulfillment of the whole law.

  • @hisrobeormine who wrote Exodus 34:1, moses you dummy, God wrote on stone and moses put it on paper. you would have never known with out a bible. God said thy word is truth meaning the KJV bible wich can be proven is the perfect word of God.

  • @1942nuclear

"wich can be proven is the perfect word of God."

It would be interesting to see these "proofs."

  • Amen! The ceremonial portion of the law require physical works in rituals, like washing their hands and dishes and other traditions; they served as reminders of sin while the ten commandments defined what sin is!

1 John 3:4 Whosoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

  • Apparently all the Law is called Mosaic by churchianity---they leave out the commandments they keep tho...you just said if you keep one..let me pick the commandment, lets see...ummm "thou shalt not murder"...now you're obligated if you keep that commandment :)

  • Check out the Ten Commandments...

The Lord says: "Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy." This is the only commandment that reminds you to keep it. Nowhere in the Old or New Testament is the seventh day Sabbath abolished... in fact, after the Resurection, the apostles continued to keep the Sabbath. Christ came to fulfill the ceremonial laws of the tabernacle, when the Israelites were in the desert. Christ was the lamb... those were the ceremonies that Christ fulfilled when He was cricified.

  • "Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory...will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. And if what was fading away came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!"

    II Corinthians 3:7-11

  • Please read Exodus 31:13-17 now how do one expect to enter into the creators hevanly rest for all eternity if on eis not willing to spend one day a week in His commanded 7th day rest? resd Matt. 7:13-14 & 21-23 then comair it with His own words "if you love me then keep My Commands " That means ALL OF THEM

  • I asked this to my mother.

She was told that Jesus had fulfilled all the commandments regarding eating kosjer, and also they told my mother that we celebrate on sunday the ressurection of Christ.

    What is true??

  • is this guy an sda

  • About symbolism, the symbol of the resurrection is not keeping Sunday holy, but baptism (by immersion). See for instance:

Rom 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father; even so we also should walk in newness of life.

    Rom 6:5 For if we have been joined together in the likeness of His death, we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection;

  • Boy you are persistent.

It has been a known fact that Resurrection is the END of the Faith and the LAST thing that will occur. Jesus already fulfilled it in Himself. We look forward to that END - our Rest at the Resurrection.

  • Commenting on Hebrews 4...

"As God finished his work, and then rested from it, so he will cause those who believe, to finish their work, and then to enjoy their rest. It is evident, that there is a more spiritual and excellent sabbath remaining for the people of God, than that of the seventh day, or that into which Joshua led the Jews. This rest is, a rest of grace, and comfort, and holiness, in the gospel state. —Matthew Henry Concise
