@SurajOnTheBeat If you're counting the 2004 surgery, I don't think that was officially counted as a leave of absence. He got his surgery and came back less a month later, but never took an extended leave of absence. I said "two" because those were the only two official leave of absences, where Steve actually released letters to the board asking them for some leave time.

@Supralobe I agree, but "Woz" accidentally leaked the 3g ipad for apple a year ago. He carried it out of a private Apple office and he was told not to by Steve Jobs. So eventually, someone took a few photos of him carrying it and he was almost fired! So I guess Steve didn't choose him due to trust issues.

I think Cook is a worthy successor. He was Steve's right-hand man for 14 years at Apple. In that time, Steve prepped Cook for this day. Steve will sit on the board of chairmen, so his creativity will still influence Apple.

Steve Jobs set the standard for digital music and smart phones that all other companies are measured and quite a few have failed miserably. How about Microsoft's Zune? Dead as a door nail! !
