Nobody ever has anytime for chris amott, he plays circles around mike and a lot of other metal players. Just listen to this album, read the album sleeve to see who plays what part in each song. The slow melodic parts are all mike but the blazing fast licks with some of the most inventive and refreshing phrasing around? all chris!

Michael Amott makes bands great.

I, however, think Arch Enemy was his greatest triumph. Carcass is good, but the melodies aren't as pretty.

Carcass makes me want to kill children, while Arch Enemy makes me want to stand up for something.

I agree. I have to say, Carcass makes better headbanging songs, but Arch Enemy just sound, overall, better. Not saying that Carcass is bad, but they're a lot more brutal than the intricate, melodic, dreamy sounding Arch Enemy.

Carcass indeed was an awesome band, acredited for MAKING melodic death. Its a shame they only made 2 melodeath albums, and Heartwork blew the other one out of the water.

Arch enemy is amazing too. I think all of Michael Ammotts fretwork is amazing; in terms of melody and brutality.
