Actually, the brick chapel isn't from the original Jamestown, but was erected in 1904, for Jamestown's tricentennial. After your visit, they discovered the remnants of the actual fort beneath ground level, slightly extending out from the shoreline. Archaeologists were busy unearthing it when we visited in 2009, and artifacts were on display in a specially-built structure further west along the shore. It's worth a new visit!
