  • @Deathawaitsnoone It's actually a cross pattée, of which the Iron Cross is just one example of the shape's use.

  • It may just be due to the insomnia, but right now I'm finding this clip to be fucking amazing.

  • I've just realised they're both wearing a German Iron Cross

  • peter sherman? as in p sherman 42 wallaby way sydney?

  • sooo....if I can afford to purchase all the DVDs in the collectie future years of my life, I can, indeed, view all the bits and pieces of Fry and Laurie from within my ownership. I thank Youtube for all the uploads, they have given me much suicide saving laughter.

  • My geography teachers middle name was Louie.

  • at 1:00, did hugh say p. sherman, as in p. sherman, 42 wallaby way, sydney?

  • wow, hugh laurie being the executive vice-bishop of Uttoxeter makes it a lot more interesting! there's nothing here at the moment! :D

  • @bloodypedant Yuh huh, I completely agree Other1/2Axis. :D My stomach still hurts from laughing so much at this earlier... We must have looked like right mentals. Daaaaaaaaaammnnnnnnnnn!

  • @rosieeday yep other half of the Axis, but it was majorly worth it! i'm fixing this clock, would you give me a hand? big hand or little hand? little hand please! :D ah breaktimes have never known such fun! :D

  • im from uttoxeter, its shit.

  • Clint Eastwood looks like him.

  • Ha ha, out of all the sketches those two genius' have done over the years, I just LOVED the characters of John and Peter!

"And Lord, show us some way that we can beat seven types of corporate CRAP out of Marjorie!"

    "DAAAAMN!!!!!"

  • this is cool because stephen fry did a huge putdown of the catholic church last year. look it up.

  • The moment when Stephen says 'Marjorie' at 3:12 is one of the greatest things ever.

    And a bit later...

'How the hell does Marjorie fit into this?'

    'Lengthways, Peter'

Are there any lines in these John and Peter sketches that AREN'T comedy gold?

  • Marjorie??!! DAMMMMNNNN....

  • Maaahhhjorie. I love the way they say that. Makes me want to walk around going "Maahhjorie."

  • 'my geography tacher's middle name was louis'.... brilliant lol DAAMMN!!!!

  • The next opportunity I get to refer to the vile Catholic Church, I'm crowbarring in the term RomeCorp©.

  • Lol, sounds like a conservative party conference. Actually Stephen Fry here reminds me of David Cameron, only less slappable, and he makes me laugh for all the right reasons...<3

  • PRIESTS dAMN IT TO HELL AND BACK

  • omg i just stumbled on this video and i live near uttoxeter. its a small town in staffordshire, so random that they used it to mention just once in the sketch lol

  • i love hugh's voice in this!

  • He looks like Clint Eastwood there

  • MAJORIE DAMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

  • haha its too good.... DAMN!!!!

  • Project Christ-Com and a merger with Rome - Corp! That is fantastic - I can really see John and Peter being at home in the modern church!

Love Hugh's face at 'a coin i spent years ago' (3:28), and the fact that Marjorie is still trying to get the better of them.

    DAMN!

  • @GettingWhiggyWithIt Who's Marjorie?

  • No, that's a symbol used by some denominations of the Christian church (not sure which, though I know Catholics don't use it)

  • DAAAAAAAMMMMN

  • They look sexy is those cassocks. <3

  • 'no, no no no peter.. yesterday was time for straight talking, today is time for plain speaking.'

i almost fell off my chair, stephen fry is so excellent

  • It has lost nothing with time, excellent sketch

  • I love John and Peter! But I never knew they became bishops!

When John said "... Marjorie!" I actually cheered.

  • I wish they were making new stuff sooo funny!

  • Hugh can't seem to keep his tongue in his mouth :) lol

  • Too funny. The flapping tongue was great.

  • hahahahah this is bloody fantastic. xD.

  • haha!!! lol!!! 24 hours and a pie chart in a dogs arse!!! hahaha!!! priceless!!!

  • brilliant :)

    Stephen Fry is the best.

  • "Re: your prayer of last night...."

    Utter genius.

  • lmao "two coins that i spent long ago..."

  • In the 70's, a church threatened to sue a member of my family for payment on a "love offerring" promise.

  • i really just like the concept of this sketch

  • I think the satire was aimed at awful BBC dramas, not religion. Watch BBC's BoneKickers or Howard's Way and you'll see exactly what they're lampooning.

  • "unmistakable air of satire"?!

  • Just brillinat. A mix between corporate executives and members of the cloth. The combinations of the religious theme with an underlying, yet omnipresent, sence of entreprise/corporation gives this sketch the unmistakable air of satire.

  • The concept for this sketch is basically the same as in "Religions Inc." a stand-up bit by Lenny Bruce. Same basic idea of organized religions as corporations concerned with the "bottom line". Both this and Lenny's bit are hilarious and spot-on.

  • Well, it's their recurring businessmen characters recast as bishops. It's a humourous juxtaposition of business and religion, not a satire.

  • Just brilliant. A mix between snobbish arsehead and relentless mothafucka. The combinations of the horse cock with an obviously, omnipresently fallacious sense of intelligence and culture gives this youtuber the unmistakable stink of overcooked fuckassery.

  • im from uttoxeter it is very exiting to hear our little town mentioned on a famous comedy!

  • C of E merging with Rome....hahahahahahahahah Oh geez, I am a dork. I'm from the US I am not suppose to understand that, but I do. heeheeheeheehee

  • "Yep, John. It's from God alright." Brilliant! XD

  • love and hate are just the same sides of a different coin.

    awesome

  • "24 hours and a dogs arse Peter!"

  • I live near Uttoxeter. Completely pathetic and irrelevant but I just got excited!

  • Wow. I am a wee bit ashamed that I didn't even know it was a proper place!

  • I love Hugh's facial expressions. And the tongue! Haha.

  • Thy're so yummy together!

  • They're sooo yummy together!

  • Pure class !!

  • marjorie!!!

  • which series is this from?

  • Series 2, if I remember correctly.

  • Series 2, last episode I think ;x.

    'Tis a good'un. :P

  • daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn!!!

  • Even though I'm not a fan of catchphrase comedy I do always look forward to the "DAAAAAMMMN!" at the end.

I do hope these two will do another show together one day.

  • Actually, Stephen Fry was supposed to film with Hugh Laurie on House, M.D., but was unable to fit it into his schedule.

  • Yeah, I think he wanted to try to do that while he was over here in the state filming his episodes of Bones. I would love to see Stephen on House.

  • DAAAAAAAMN! I love those two. :D

  • i love these two, they always make me laugh!
