sooo....if I can afford to purchase all the DVDs in the collectie future years of my life, I can, indeed, view all the bits and pieces of Fry and Laurie from within my ownership. I thank Youtube for all the uploads, they have given me much suicide saving laughter.
@bloodypedant Yuh huh, I completely agree Other1/2Axis. :D My stomach still hurts from laughing so much at this earlier... We must have looked like right mentals. Daaaaaaaaaammnnnnnnnnn!
@rosieeday yep other half of the Axis, but it was majorly worth it! i'm fixing this clock, would you give me a hand? big hand or little hand? little hand please! :D ah breaktimes have never known such fun! :D
Lol, sounds like a conservative party conference. Actually Stephen Fry here reminds me of David Cameron, only less slappable, and he makes me laugh for all the right reasons...<3
omg i just stumbled on this video and i live near uttoxeter. its a small town in staffordshire, so random that they used it to mention just once in the sketch lol
I think the satire was aimed at awful BBC dramas, not religion. Watch BBC's BoneKickers or Howard's Way and you'll see exactly what they're lampooning.
Just brillinat. A mix between corporate executives and members of the cloth. The combinations of the religious theme with an underlying, yet omnipresent, sence of entreprise/corporation gives this sketch the unmistakable air of satire.
The concept for this sketch is basically the same as in "Religions Inc." a stand-up bit by Lenny Bruce. Same basic idea of organized religions as corporations concerned with the "bottom line". Both this and Lenny's bit are hilarious and spot-on.
Just brilliant. A mix between snobbish arsehead and relentless mothafucka. The combinations of the horse cock with an obviously, omnipresently fallacious sense of intelligence and culture gives this youtuber the unmistakable stink of overcooked fuckassery.
@Deathawaitsnoone It's actually a cross pattée, of which the Iron Cross is just one example of the shape's use.

It may just be due to the insomnia, but right now I'm finding this clip to be fucking amazing.

Ha ha, out of all the sketches those two genius' have done over the years, I just LOVED the characters of John and Peter!
"And Lord, show us some way that we can beat seven types of corporate CRAP out of Marjorie!"
"DAAAAMN!!!!!"
CM26617 1 year ago
this is cool because stephen fry did a huge putdown of the catholic church last year. look it up.
drewamira 1 year ago
The moment when Stephen says 'Marjorie' at 3:12 is one of the greatest things ever.
And a bit later...
'How the hell does Marjorie fit into this?'
'Lengthways, Peter'
Are there any lines in these John and Peter sketches that AREN'T comedy gold?

Project Christ-Com and a merger with Rome - Corp! That is fantastic - I can really see John and Peter being at home in the modern church!
Love Hugh's face at 'a coin i spent years ago' (3:28), and the fact that Marjorie is still trying to get the better of them.
DAMN!

No, that's a symbol used by some denominations of the Christian church (not sure which, though I know Catholics don't use it)

Well, it's their recurring businessmen characters recast as bishops. It's a humourous juxtaposition of business and religion, not a satire.

Actually, Stephen Fry was supposed to film with Hugh Laurie on House, M.D., but was unable to fit it into his schedule.

Yeah, I think he wanted to try to do that while he was over here in the state filming his episodes of Bones. I would love to see Stephen on House.
