I've noticed the red squirrels are much more nervy than the gray squirrels. They are a bit destructive, those red squirrels. One was chewing up my clothes line so I put "Dave's Hot Pepper Sauce" on the ends to deter them. I had never seen a red squirrel in my area until two years ago. I wonder why they are here now and where they came from.
He wouldn't have been wild for long at that rate! Cute. I once rented a cabin in the woods for a long weekend and made too much breakfast. Threw a big whole grain pancake out and sat at the table watching a squirrel eat as much of it as he could from around the outside and try to climb a tree with the rest. It was heavy, his stomach was distended from being so full - he barely made it after several tries. Too funny.
