dearest piece of classical music to me ever and forever, I like the way she did it, since I can't find on youtube the version of an opera singer from my country, good job - close enough to what I remember. I'm no expert, so maybe she missed one or two vibratos, or maybe she didn't, but I know I'll enjoy listening to this. bravo!
Beautiful voice. I think a little slower is best - it is meant to be a heartfelt plea rather than a dance - expression is important. I don't think the length of the piece should determine the speed!!!
to retoricalanswers... if you ever been to any music school in your life you would know that it was taught at this tempo...and if you actually knew the italian terms you would know that the tempo is andantino...but you wouldnt know that. it is the singers option to sing the tempo of their choice. and i personally like it a bit faster considering it is a 6 page piece
This sounds really good. She really stays true to the style! I actually used this recording to help me learn this piece, which I will be using in January to try out for Regional Honor Choir. Thanks so much. :)
@contatolirico I kinda like the tempo actually. since it's a lot of the same and soooo beautifully written it kinda takes the potential boredom out of it. especially for a young singer who is still learning interpretation. no?
@retoricalanswers No. The very fast time destroys any attempt at interpretation. You have to know the music time, according to the style, the author certainly did not write for it to be played at this speed. It is a mistake, and a young singer should already start in the right way. No?
My only comment on this is the interpretation. "Pieta, Signore" literally means "Lord, Have mercy" I think that the voice is great, truly. However, you could make this soo much more haunting by slowing down some.
Wow. Beautiful voice.

I have not heard Sarah sing yet. I really enjoyed listening to her! She has a haunting quality to her voice. Great performance...very expressive!
