  • most wonderful song. feels like listening again and again.

  • Wonderful and its diadem as I know it. Takes me back to a church I used to go to where we would have this as the processional for our patronal service. Great opener for a packed church and it really raises the roof. Heard the other verson o f diadem and compared with this it sounds a little bland.

  • I think this is the version hard to find on the internet, the other tune might be the most common. Thank you for uploading it

  • I have searched far & wide for this version! I love it! Thank you!

  • I knew the American version too. I first heard this version of "All Hail the Power" at my first Gymanfa Ganu...

  • Even I like this song, and I'm an atheist.

  • This is what and how the angels are singing in heaven right now as we speak.

  • There are three versions (tunes) in the Methodist Hymnal.

  • I love this version of this hymn, we grew singing this hymn this way. Stressing the 'crown him' part, I love it ! - Praise God.

  • Praise God Almighty! Father, Son and Holy Spirit!!

  • Bring forth royal diadem and crown Him....Lord you are full of awesome!

  • I love this version of the hymn. <3

  • Must be very close to how the angels sing in heaven.

  • Thank you for posting the "Diadem" version of this hymn. I have not been able to find this particular version through my regular hymn search sites until now. It sounded so uplifting when our church sang this version during worship today.

  • The Diadem tune is sung in American churches with minor changes in the melody. The problem is that it requires a congregation that can read music and sing in parts (or at least have enough in the congregation who can).

The choir sings very well. I am not in agreement with LDS theology. Those who are upset with the choir should turn off their TV at Christmas or you might hear some "heathen" singing a Christmas hymn. My faith does not depend on the faith of others, only in God.

  • This is the Welsh tune 'Diadem'....There are three tunes for 'All Hail the Power': Coronation, Diadem, and Miles Lane. Religious enthusiasm is no excuse for ignorance. "Study to show thyself approved!"

  • It is important to know that - yes -

Jesus will be exalted among the nations.

He will be exalted in the earth.

And every knee shall bow to Him and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord.

For those who love Him and have been obedient all their lives, they will join the angel and sing this everlasting song.

The Word of God is true and it *will* come to pass.

This world is reserved for fire; happy are those who put their hope in Christ. :)

  • Love the beginning, it has a dramatic air into it.

I can see the redeemers singing this in heaven :) and Jesus standing before all of us.

What a wonderful heavenly song ♥

And He will smile the most beatific smile ever.

  • This tune is by English Wesleyan James Ellor who emigrated to America in the mid 1800's. Even this tune is slightly different than Ellor's original.

  • i love this song

  • WONDERFUL.....

  • @motownfriend MAGNIFICENT !!

  • Only one song can I think compare with this one in expressing the majesty of God and that's the Hallelujiah Chorus.

I hear very few modern songs that cause you to simply fall and worship God the way this song does.

  • Where are the graphics at the beginning from? I love them

  • @l33tpwnzord just googled it.

  • Thank you thank you for posting this version... I'm not a Brit but we sang this was I was a boy, in this version!

  • Just thought of sharing a joke. Once during my church's worship service the worship leader forgot to add 'r' in 'throng' on the power point slide and it came out as "O that with yonder sacred thong'! That being said I like this Diadem version more than the Coronation. The recording in this video is really good, I must add; all the parts can be heard very well. But I have an issue with the last part of the video. It looks to me like an illustration of the 'big bang' which contradicts this hymn!

  • If i had known this was sung by the blasphemus mormon choir i would never have watched this. Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. He died for our sins. Mormons don't believe this so they don't know the God they are supposedly singing about. Jesus Christ is the only way to God the Father. You don't have Jesus, you don't have God.

  • I too am used to the more familiar American tune "Coronation" for this hymn but I like this one very much too. It's different but very beautiful. I think it is called "Miles Lane?" There's also another tune, I believe it is called "Diadem," that it is sometimes set to. No matter the music, it is an amazing and glrious hymn and htis slide show was fantastic!

  • @Marylandguineapigguy This tune is Diadem...not Miles Lane. Coming from a Welsh Nonconformist Chapel background congregational hymn singing is pretty much in my blood. I wish I could find a version of this tune sung by a Welsh congregation as I dont think anyone else can sing quite as good as the Welsh....although of course I may be biased...lolol. However this is a glorious version of a glorious hymn

  • And everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved! Amen

  • this praises we sing to god is so strong that the lord bless us every day and don't stop loving us

  • Thanks for posting this. It is way, way the best version on you tube. Can we have details of who and where please. Thank you. Its a pity they don't keep the momentum going until the end. This slower last verse gives me the impression they have run out of steam. Never the less it is still the best here.

  • i have never heard this song sang this way. can't say it's my favorite.

  • @rinceresource Well, I understand you are used to the way it is sung in America. How ever, this is the way the British sing it and I am used to singing it in the choir. In fact, I had to search far and wide to find this version of this hymn... God bless you!

  • @gtasoul tell me about it! love this tune!

  • @gtasoul I have been searching for this version of all hail the king. this is the way we sing it in Nigeria. I love it.

  • @gtasoul don't mind him. we sing this version in America too. And I think its the better version. More majestic.

  • @gtasoul We sing this version among other versions in Vietnam, and I love this one the best!

  • @rinceresource i prefer this version. I sing bass in the choir and this has one of the best bass lines by far.

  • @rinceresource There are a few different tunes to this song, and this is my favorite. If you ever get in a crowd where people really know their parts and are not afraid to sing it "lustily and wiith good courage," you will never get over it. I sing bass, and love that moving part. You have to sing it on purpose!

  • @rinceresource , are you kidding? This tune is the best one for this hymn by a mile!

  • Anybody has the Larry mayfield version of this particular song? what a joyful song!!!

  • very powerful and beautiful song

  • This is probably my favorite hymn of all times

  • This is absolutly wonderful song! where would i get more of this type of songs?

  • Search for famous church hymns. You'll find similar songs.

  • ever heard his hymn sung by the Statler Brothers? Awesome job!

  • this is wonderful

  • Leave a prayer request, pray for another in need of a prayer, and expect the same in return.

    PrayForMeAmerica . com

  • The Name above all names - Jesus!

  • love this hymn, love this version too as well..although I don't know it as well as the more common one. -C

  • my musical family's favorite hymn! we have sung it at family gatherings for years. sometimes with as many as 25 people! this choir did a marvelous job.

  • We Crown you LORD for without you we are nothin

  • Thank you for my life, Lord. Please, use me to make the world a better place. Help me to nurture love where there is hatred; joy where there is sadness; and hope where there is hopelesness. These are my passion, Lord. To you be the glory till the end of time.

  • Sounds just like the one that first went over the air on Family Radio's flagship station, KEAR on February 4 1959. Indeed...All hail the power of Jesus' Name!

  • OMFG, I love God so much and this song is making a tear come out of my eye.

  • My dear sister, if you truly love the Lord then why do you use abbreviations that curse and use his name in vain?

  • The sad thing is that 99% of people who sing this song don't have a clue what it is about -- what this song implies Jesus' name is (hint: it's not "Jesus"), why that is powerful, or even the significance of it being ascribed to him.

Our churches these days encourage such a lazy, ignorant, and downright elementary understanding of what it means to understand Jesus as lord and it's sad that so many are so theologically illiterate that they cannot understand this hymn.

  • Fraternite - Well instead of lauding your own superior theological intellectualism, (which I'm not really sure acheives anything at all except perhaps your own satisfaction?) why don't you enlighten these supposed theological philistines?

Surely the responsibility of anyone with knowledge or wisdom is to impart it to others... merely stating that you have it and others don't is rather selfish. ;)

  • Amen! this song is what we're going to sing in heaven!! Praise our King Jesus!!!

  • This comment sounds very much like my choirmaster...

  • ive been looking every where for this song

  • The name of Jesus is wonderful.

  • SAUDAI O NOME DE JESUS, ARCANJOS VOS PROSTAI. Hino da Harpa Cristã!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful - Praise the Lord for good 'old' hymns - they're timeless!

  • The tune is Diadem, and is common in many (British) hymn books.

  • Does any one know where I can get this hymn? Or in which CD is this hymn listed?

  • Seventh-Day Adventists Hymnal Book number 229

  • That is the Cornation Tune, not Diadem.

  • Mojeans04, this tune is diadem. Its available in Methodist Hymn book (additional tunes section) or Sankey's Sacred songs and solos...

  • @reubendan Right. This is Diadem. In the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal it is to the Coronation Tune.

  • @reubendan Right. This is Diadem. In reference to 143cinderallle, In the Seventh-day Adventist Hymnal (Hymn 229) it is to the Coronation Tune.

  • This is the best of the tunes sung with this blessing hymn. Unfortunately it is not common to most congregations.

  • I agree!

  • best version ever, just to good,PRAISE THE LORD,I am so blessed

  • This is what an orchestra should be,it brings back the Anglican tradition.Kudos.
