I use FireWire 4p-6p brand Hama. Costs about 10 to 15 euros or something like that.. Plug the cable in your camera and in your computer and Windows Moviemaker will pop up asking you if you want to download the footage from your camera to the computer. You should be able to select the quality you want (best quality is .avi). And that's it.
Good luck trying to edit movies with it though. Unless you are using it to soley take short youtube clips or never want to do any kind of editing and just burn straight to dvd - without a lot of hassle - you're sol.
hey i used the Sony DCR-HC27 to shoot a short movie and it ended up looking really good if you can get some good editing software theres no need for expensive cameras, check out my short action movie and let me know what you think of the camera work
yes i would recommend it. you can change a lot of things, but what i do most of the time is use the 'easy' mode or whatever it's called.. it means you don't have to change things like exposure, focus etc. the camera does that all automatically. to answer your question: you can change those things, but i've never done it. if you have further questions let me hear. harmen

Also I have a question:
is it possible with this camera to manually change the following:
aperture
exposure
saturation
focus
Thanks for the answer and greetings from Austria

How does it perform indoors?

Good quality, but when you're in a quiet place you can hear a static beep caused by the tape when you're recording. but it's not really annoying
