Actually, the Magic could have potentially won the series had they not given away games 2 and especially 4. The Magic were far less experienced than the Lakers and that's why they could handle it when the pressure was on them to win it in big games, with that said, they weren't worthy to win it against LA. And yes, Andrew Bynum is playing better this year, but back in '08 even if he had been healthy, there wasn't much he could have done against the Celtics seeing as how Kobe and Pau the best offense for LA were both getting manhandled by the Celtics defense.
i'm not arguing about the '08 finals. boston was that much better than the lakers, who didn't even expect to make it there, but they just had a good run in the playoffs. i doubt the C's coulda beat the lakers last year healthy or even now. Closest complete monster is wade though, or carmelo.

Actually, the Magic could have potentially won the series had they not given away games 2 and especially 4. And let's face it, LA was just lucky that they didn't have to come across a healthy Celtics team. THe Lakers may have won in 5, but it was a much better series than it looked like. Magic, Spurs, or Celtics are taking down the Lakers this year.

C'mon you people are crazy! The Lakers were lucky that the Celtics lost KG and got put out early by Orlando. The Lakers lost in 2008 to the Celtics because their offense was no match for the tough defense that the Celtics put on them. And by the way, Ariza was playing in the Finals. Andrew Bynum is a fat lazy fuck who couldn't have done shit against the Celtics. 08' Lakers with a full roster vs. the 08' Celtics and you'll get the same results. The Magic lost because they blew it in crunch time!

The Magic were far less experienced than the Lakers and that's why they could handle it when the pressure was on them to win it in big games, with that said, they weren't worthy to win it against LA. And yes, Andrew Bynum is playing better this year, but back in '08 even if he had been healthy, there wasn't much he could have done against the Celtics seeing as how Kobe and Pau the best offense for LA were both getting manhandled by the Celtics defense.

i'm not arguing about the '08 finals. boston was that much better than the lakers, who didn't even expect to make it there, but they just had a good run in the playoffs. i doubt the C's coulda beat the lakers last year healthy or even now. Kobe i thought played alright in the finals, it's just Gasol's output in '08 dropped with every playoff series going by. Rondo won't be able to carry that team by himself next year, which sucks for boston, the NBA, and us, fans of basketball.

Yes, and then no. About half of their roster were with Kobe during his scoring title years, plus Fisher was with the Lakers during their three-peat. There are some young players on the Lakers roster, but a lot of them have had more playoff experience that the Magic's roster who up until last season never made past the second round, and were swept during Dwight Howard's first trip to the playoffs.
